I think I'll do a 50k special episode where I respond to 50 questions about anything. If you're interested, write your question here - I'll pick the most popular ones.
What are your favorite CZcams craft channels?
what are those writings on your knife?
Bard's Craft Where do you get your inspiration?
What kind of tree has thick hark, because in my area there are only trees with very thin bark
Awhile ago you said in one of your videos it’s been a bit since you built something you either really loved or were excited about. What are your favorite things to build and why?
"... and I use a lot of force"..."There is no such thing as too much glue"
This channel is the antithesis to all the other crafting channels on YT
He has some Bob Roß waibs
barbarian class of crafting
The little twig lay on the ground,
his heart was broken, left unfound.
He'd longed to be a mighty tree,
But fallen now, could never be.
He wished and wished with all his might
And who should pass him by that night
But the one who's name is called Bard's Craft?
He took the twig, and smiling left.
That tiny twig, though small and frail
Was perfect for the miniature scale
And thus, the small twig smiled with glee,
His wish came true... He's now a tree!
Thanks 😂 beautiful
Excellent sonnet
"...and wear a jacket of matching basecoat color." 😂 I love your humor, your videos, and your terrain!
I particularly like the “flöcking of concealment”
I would love to see a oneshot using all your amazing terrain!
Or heck, a full campaign
Before you painted it with the stone coloring, I thought the fortress looked like it was made out of an ancient tree, with the idea for a younger one sprouting or growing in the middle. Both versions look great!
Yes, that's what I thought!
I think I kinda kept it like that just added very little coloring and flocking. Perfect.
"I hope my bricks are enough... No, they aren't."
-Bard's Craft, and every other crafting DM ever. Usually twice per project.
Maybe three times per project.
I had an idea while watching this that might be able to save you some time and effort in the future with wood-based projects: Wood-facade foam bricks.
1) Cut foam bricks. Round the corners a little so they can fit together in a circular pattern. Don't bother to texture them.
2) Glue thin sheets of bark, or a mixture of PVA and that chopped bark flocking you use for ground cover to the outward-facing parts of the bricks.
3) Stack the bricks as normal. Cover the seams up with your chopped bark flocking and possibly some patches of "moss."
The bricks would be lightweight, use less bark, and fit together seamlessly. They might also form a visible pattern, and ruin the random/natural look you were going for.
100% true
"The scissor isnt good enough... KNIFE" - Dude, Im totally in love with that knife skill
Can’t wait to see what the tree looks like this time next year
I love that guy, he just chops bark with big knife. I enjoy every moment of this video
If you ever make a second channel you should name it "Bark's Craft". And great vid as usual!
I'm now wondering how it could've look like if instead of turning bark into stone you kept bark into... bark! It's wood elves after all!
When you said bricks from bark in the last vid I thought you went totally insane and wanted to cut them the same size as the xps bricks :D Beautiful craft and I am looking forward to your oathmark army
You are the only crafter I ever see using bark, but it always turns out amazing. Quite puzzling.
Your sense of humour is grand.... build is amazing
I love the elven tree "growing over time" idea!
Terrain pieces under construction even (and especially) in use.
Very inspiring! Thank you, good work!
I am impressed!!!!! so awesome!
Suggestion: carve runes into the bark of the towers, paint them with sharply contrasting colors. Provides magical runic protection to the fortress.
voodoogroove wanted to say the same!
this was indeed epic, so much versatility with just bark.
Those stick dots on the mushrooms worked out great! 😁
That is truly epic level!
i can heare the boat dwarves weeping while seeing the masonry of this place
To apply the flocking you can use a plastic bottle made out of soft plastic with big lid. Drill the holes accordingly. Pour your flocking into the bottle and when you apply it hold it very close ( about 5 mm) to the surface and press the bottle. By pressing the bottle you will "shoot" the flock and it will be "standing" as if it was growing straight from the ground, and not just laying there.
Love those cutting noises. 👍
That is exceptionally epic, you're right. Well done Bard of the Oats and Bark.
Nicely done, lad. Love your channel.
That is the best looking stone terrain I've ever seen! Not too sure about the blocks making the fortress, but the bigger pillars and the rocks on the ground are gorgeous!
Excellent, not sure how you get such good looking pieces the way you do it but it works love it.
Flocking of concealment... I don't know why but this made me laugh quite a lot. xD
I really enjoy the look of this project. The bark adds the perfect amount of detail. Looking forward to more.
Awesome build
I loved this. This might just be your best build up to date
I don’t play any type of miniature games and don’t craft at all, but I wait for your videos every week.
If I can get non-hobbyists interested as well, I'm quite happy with the work :)
Same here I just make terrain and long wish to play with my friends, why now I can, because our lockdown finished and are at level 2. I come all the way from nz
Your style of terrain never disappoints. I like the trees with the small green patches.
I like how you enjoy building your terrains
Great build! I really like the use of natural materials.
Using the blue near the end was epic
Thank you for this video. What an ingenious way to use bark and it’s texture.
amazing job, that magic in the music and the cuttin, chopping etc.. relaxing and entertaining great videos man!!!
The mafical Highlight is so brilliant. IMo the greatest details in here
Thanks ! You are the best!
This is fricking amazing!
Beautiful
Ce que tu fais est magnifique bravo ! J'adore 👍
@bard’s craft continues to put out amazing content, what I can’t understand is how there is always a “Thumbs down”
What the heck is not to like?
Keep up the great work! You’re inspiring
Outstanding build! I'm especially impressed by the gradient on the brown mushrooms and the light blue highlights you added to the rocks at the end.
You're going to love the Oathmark elves. I'm finishing up painting their dwarf infantry set and they are wonderful to work on. Lots of opportunities for customization, too.
Really creative build, I love it! Well done Sir!
This is the best channel on CZcams. Had it all. Exceptionally Epic!
I just discovered the art of making these dioramas and I find them so fascinating!
I honestly love the terrain before painting. I night keep it as bark for my version
Excellent.
Sweet!
The best tool for any job, is the tool you have with you!
Really nice!
"The Elven Tree of time" concept was great hahaha This build was awesome, man, congrats
The builds are very organic. Really epic. Would love to see all of them in one video.also I love your “ hot wire” ..
It looks fantastic, and I could see this being recreated of sorts with just the raw wood, making the scene look as though it takes place in a massive long dead tree with a normal sized tree growing somewhere within.
Very nice work, very inspiring.
Only just discovered your amazing channel and I love it. Superb content, good looking fella, clear videos and audio.
I really enjoy each episode. Easy, good explained with the right mix of humor and skill. You encouraged me to just try new projects. Just do it =)
super amazing
I like. A lot ...like. a lot a lot.
But your massive boss raid figure I my favourite, idk why. Something about his base and spear and colour palette just makes me love it.
Just discovered your channel yesterday, love your work! Lots of great ideas. For this project, I almost think leaving the bark as bark and not painting it would have been even more epic. Like the Elves use to live in a giant tree. Great ideas!
Oathmark for the win! I literally can't stop buying their minis, I'm planning an underground kingdom of purple elves, gobos, humans and dorfs. This bark looks so nice to walk with btw
My 1st time ever seeing one of your videos.
Well done! Excellent job!
Am I the only one who thinks it looked so much better before the paint? Not that the painted version wasn't good, it's amazing. I just really liked the natural look
This turned out really great and it's all made from dead plants! Using the Mora is a solid idea. I should bring mine out for more gamecraft.
Cheers from Brazil man love watching your vídeos
Epic!
You make beautiful crafts. You should be proud of that. Greetings from Germany!
Great video as always.
Very nice work
Bravo. Molto bello! 😁
Really like your style. Its like to see the Crocodile Dundee of crafting.
With a frigging huge badass knife.
Hey, thats not a knoife, this is a knoife!
Top notch, mate. Love the bark stones. They have such amazing texture and edges. I am digging your blue tint to the stonework, too. Great, creative idea. This set piece will look great on your gaming table. Hope you're still getting a few games in here and there. Take care, --Bo
Bards Craft is like the Bear Grylls of the crafting world. 👌
I found a thicker sawdust (not sifted) can make a great looking moss. Can put it in a cup and mix with desired colors & water then let dry on a cooking pan. Making it with different shades of green then adding in a white sawdust can make it look like little flowers growing in the moss.
Interesting technique
Very cool video. Your videos are fun to watch and give great ideas.
You just got a new sub love your work
Love the music
Another Job WELL Done! I do love how ya made some flowers, GOOD IDEA! Love all your Designs, Thanks for Sharing! Hope Your Well!! BE SAFE!
This video is all about Bark's Craft where violence is a solution!
Mahtava projekti!
Hey bard really love the channel and your simple cheap ideas. I couldn't find any bark like what you use in nature here but I did find terrarium ground cover for spiders and lizards at my local pet shop
Very cool way to use bark.
Thanks!
I'd like a 10 hour video of brush strokes asmr. Thanks :D :D
your videos are so inspiring as I love to build terrain and dioramas and the face that use cheap and found materials is just so freaking awesome am such a huge fan
Love your builds keep up the good work! you have inspired me to build crafts myself!
I would love to see you do many different types of trees just to see what you come upp with :D
very cool build
brought to you by
*sacred öates*
1:57 Damn Bards Craft, you've got some guns.
Awesome build Lucas. It's an epic build full of forest materials and cutting sounds - aaaahhhh! I've been lost in a big project ( old west) for the past few months but glad to be back to öaty inspiration 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great work, you should do a video displaying all your terrain in a scenic way. Really like your work.
When we do trees in architectural modeling, we tend to group them, I think it would be good to group those mushrooms.
Thanks for nice videos, I enjoy to just watch it and relax + also getin inspiration. You are having lot of good tips and tricks.
Great video as always. I hope you will make more videos about creating monsters and beasts.
I loved the elven tree of time
making sure the the corrugations are at right angles to each other when gluing layers of cardboard together is the best way to avoid warping.
I love the way jou combine violence and humor in you movies.
good job
