Hi @kamdorian, can you make a video or tell how your experiences are with the Airhawk seat? Have you only considered that one? Thanks and nice videos you’ve making about this great bike.
Sure I will do that video soon! I considered a few cheaper version on Amazon but decided to get Air hawk. Next time I would probably try a cheaper one first. Thank you for the comments and support!
@@sathishrao7926 nice, do you do a lot of night riding? I have yet to ride the Vulcan at night, hopefully doing it soon and will record a video for it!
@@Kamdorian If you’re referring to riding on highways during nights, No I haven’t done night riding ( except on a few occasions when long rides spill over to night due to more than anticipated ‘pit stops’ in between ) Indian highways are more dangerous than your freeways, more so during nights..
I believe it's required to have separate turn signals. Also more safe to have both. I changed the turn signals to low profile LED see my other video here czcams.com/video/HdGuc_oAsw8/video.html
They are called positaps, can find them in many shapes and sizes on Amazon and Walmart, just search positap and what ever color you want.www.amazon.com/dp/B089XNL6C6/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_2VWY3YWGZGAEP37H8HYE?psc=1
I have a similar light with one male flat red connector. The light is plugged in but the light doesn’t come on unless I start the bike. What should I do with that wire? Is it a ground, do I connect it to the flashes? I’d appreciate your help
Usually ground wires are black. Reach out to the manufacturer of your headlight or try to Google search instructions for the light they should be able to tell you what that wire is. The main headlight should turn on.
Hi Kamdorian, another very good modife for your vulcan. Now your motorbike is very custom i like so much. Did you think to canche the handlebar or to place the speedometer in left side of the motor bike... would be intresting : )
Thank you! yea I love the customized look of my Vulcan too, really feels like my bike now after all the mods I put into it myself. Sometime I think of changing handlebars to mini ape hangers but it is a lot of work to install, maybe one day! I have not heard of moving the speedometer, is that something you have seen on other Vulcans?
Probably not, I have two windscreens that came with the bike but haven't used them yet. The led headlight I have takes up space on the forks so need to find another way to mount the windscreen if I ever use it.
Technically you could remove the old blinkers but then you would need to connect the wiring to the hardwiring of the bike and not just tap into the existing blinker wiring like I did. Also some states and countries require separate blinkers so check your local laws before you remove the stock blinkers. I plan on replacing the stock blinkers with smaller blacked out ones.
Sorry man I am not sure about the wiring in the 900 classic but if you look at the wiring of the stock headlight and turn signals you should be able to confirm if the headlight is plug and play like this LED headlight and if it's the same type of plug it will work. For the turn signals you would just have to use the extra headlight wiring to tap into the turn signals. You might need a flash relay though depending on the current electrical load of the bike and how much load the headlight adds. This headlight is universal and works on a lot of Harleys so I would think it should work on the 900 classic as well. Good luck and ride safe!
@@Kamdorian it’s the same set up like you have only thing is my led headlight only has two instead of three wires one is for running lights and the other is for the turn signals and my factory head light was only attached to the main plug no other existing wires were connected
@@timwalters7394 so your LED headlight didn't come with the green 3prong plug that attaches to the stock wiring on your back? Have you tried connecting the wiring from the headlight to the stock wiring for turn signals using positaps?
I am not sure. It all depends on how much space is left on the forks to mount the brackets for the windshield. If the brackets take up the entire fork then no it won't work.
@@Kamdorian how did you verify the wire gauge before doing this install? I’m doing a few mods with the electrical on my Vulcan and I don’t want to have to strip every wire to check the gauge.
@@joeljjjohn I just tried it and it worked. The wires are not that thick so the gauge range of the positap is sufficient. I have used them on the tail light swap, front blinkers, and head light with no issues aside from hyper flash but that is because I don't have the flash relay installed yet.
I actually ordered new led turn signals that are coming tomorrow! Yea I'm going to keep both just for more added visibility and I don't mind the look of having both. Some states and countries actually require separate turn signals.
@@Kamdorian good to know. Gonna get the same LED headlamp you got. Digging the turn signal on the actual light. With the fender tidy, it’s super sleek. Hate the way the stock turn signals bounce around when you’re riding. Looks too much like a bug to me
@@toni_beat I agree very buggy haha, my new turn signals arrived I'm gonna do an install video soon. Also check out my led headlight install and fender delete install videos if you need help installing them.
It feels like your turn signals blink almost twice as fast as mine. Usually it means too much power or a bulb failed somewhere on the bike. Is it the expected frequency ?
You are correct, the frequency is faster than normal. It is because of my chrome glow fender delete tail light. I don't have the relay installed so the turn signal frequency is faster than normal, but I don't mind it.
@@Kamdorian you really ought to install that relay, at some point not having it installed with the extra electrical accessories (I see you have the cigarette adaptor installed) it's eventually gonna cause problems electrically
Now, this Vulcan has turned into Kamdorian 650. Lol
BTW, it's great to see you doing all these engineering by yourself. 😁
Haha kamdorian 650 I like that! It's so much fun doing it all myself, learning alot. Always wanted to be some kind of car or bike mechanic.
Excellent job!
thank you!!
You make this stuff look easy.
For the extra wiring, two words
Zip ties
The small ones work well for me
Thanks! Yea I used twist ties for now but you are right zip ties would be cleaner and tighter!
