  • Join me today as I tackle on installing the Indian Scout 10” mini ape bars on a Kawasaki Vulcan S! The Indian scout handle bars happen to have the same 1” diameter with the 7/8” ends. I went to my local Indian motorcycle shop and found these 10”handle bars for a great price that I couldn’t pass it up. I did not replace any of the cables on had to reroute everything. The bar ends threaded right on the the scout bars, very convenient. The ride feels different now as the bars are sitting higher. I definitely have to get more used to it but so far im having no problems whenever I turn.
    Zip ties I used to neatly tie the wire on the new handle bar. 👇🏻

    Inspiring! I was planning to buy a 2016 Vulcan S by the end of this year & wondering how ape hangers going to look on the bike, honestly your Vulcan looks fine with a 10 inch apes. Good sharing, bro.

    Awesome video. They look outstanding! The only thing that might bug me a little bit is the gloss finish instead of a matte black finish. I would switch mine out if these Indian Scout bars came in matte black but it doesn't look like they do.

      @jaygee269  Před rokem

      In person they stand out even more, the gloss black matches with the gloss wheels.

    Was thinking of cutting small peice of round bar off bouth sides enough room to pass cables through bracket then shouldnt have to deassemble electrics from left hand side

    • @jaygee269
      @jaygee269  Před 3 měsíci

      Try putting the switches from the left side without taking them out the bracket first. With all the extra slack I had I have a feeling that they can just screw right on the mini ape bars. Try the right side cables as well.

      I added the Indian Apes as well. I used bolt cutters to cut those wire holds and bent them open afterwards I bent them back. Didn't have to disassemble breaks either.

    Did these bars reduce your reach a good amount? Thinking about ordering some to helpe sit more upright to relieve lower back pain.

    • @jaygee269
      @jaygee269  Před 11 měsíci

      Yes I’m sitting upright more but my arms are sitting higher. If I slouch sometimes my fingertips get numb. Easily fixed by sitting upright.

    Does the housing for your switches sit on the 1 in diameter or does that and the grips sit on the 7/8 diameter?

    • @jaygee269
      @jaygee269  Před 4 měsíci

      The housing and mirrors sit on the 7/8” side.

      I got my hands up higher now and leaning back just a little bit more. Before my arms were low and I was leaned forward.

    Hey great video man quick question for you after you installed the new handlebars how close were your hands to the height of your shoulders

    • @jaygee269
      @jaygee269  Před 5 měsíci

      I say like 3 to 4 inches below my shoulders they don’t stick up too much.

  • @Esantry
    @Esantry Před 5 měsíci

    How did you put the bar ends back on. There is no screw holes on the Indian ones.

    • @jaygee269
      @jaygee269  Před 5 měsíci

      On the Indian bars that I got they do have threaded inserts for the bar ends and it’s the same thread pattern.

      @@Esantry if they don’t if I were you I would go with the self clamping bar end mirrors. It’ll look way nicer than the stock mirrors. I been wanting to do that.

  • @jamied4191

    Hi there , are the new handlebars wider then the Vulcan s stock (OEM) bars???
    Thank you.

    • @jaygee269
      @jaygee269  Před rokem +1

      I believe they are nearly the same width. The stock bars have an angle to them and the scout bars have 90 degrees bends on it making the bars look less wider.

  • @abeegonn1
    @abeegonn1 Před 10 měsíci

    Is the middle of the bars 1" and ends are 7/8"? I believe that's vulcan size.

  • @jackharington3126
    @jackharington3126 Před rokem

    Does this make the bike narrower for lane filtering?

    • @jaygee269
      @jaygee269  Před rokem +1

      Yes and no. I can squeeze by cars better due to their mirrors being lower. It’s the truck’s mirrors that get in the way due to the handlebars sitting higher. Most of the time I can squeeze by everything. If it’s to tight I won’t lane filter.

    You think i can get away with 12 inch without having issues with the cables?

    • @jaygee269
      @jaygee269  Před 10 měsíci

      No you would definitely need a longer clutch cable. Mine barely reached after rerouting the line. If you have ABS you would need a longer brake line as well.

    • @Nico-zz5pr
      @Nico-zz5pr Před 10 měsíci

      @jaygee269 but with 10 inches I'm forsure good to go? Or should I get the clutch and abs cable just incase? At that point I might aswell go for the 12's

    • @jaygee269
      @jaygee269  Před 10 měsíci

      @@Nico-zz5pr if you don’t have a ABS model you won’t need new cables you can use the existing ones just reroute the lines. My clutch cable sits between the frame and the tank. right before the triple tree.

    • @jaygee269
      @jaygee269  Před rokem +2

      Yes definitely could do that I just didn’t have a grinder or anything to cut the bracket. But that would of made quick work of it.
