Transmission failure under 100k is unacceptable
If you get a ford it’ll have a transmission issue at least once. I’ve had two rangers a 01,19 both gave out so I got a Tacoma instead
Towed over the approved rating and didn't change fluid on schedule. It's a miracle warranty covered it
@@vicentepuyalto5151shill for Ford more plz. Excuses for Ford’s trash transmissions are getting old.
@Lq32332 the hell you on about? The other guy is absolutely right. This guy probably didn't even weight his rig loaded and was 1500 pounds overweight or something. It would almost be impressive that it lasted that long being overloaded.
@@ShotGunner5609 Nice you on your knees for Ford too
I value a 100K review wayyyyyy more than an 8000 mile or 20,000 mile review. way to go bro. sucks about the transmission, glad the warranty covered it, it sucked how long you didn't have a truck.
it is ridiculous that fords can't last 100k anymore....
It should be noted, not only did he tow over the approved rating, but he ALSO did not change the fluid on schedule. He's lucky ford didnt tell him to pound sand.
@@Nick-ue7iwtowing over the limit with dirty fluid, idk if theres a faster way to destroy your transmission lmao
@@raymond_rnt Mine's a 2018 and it's got 189K miles under it's belt. Maybe you want to be more specific rather than throwing shade to a whole brand based on a single review?
@@raymond_rntFord hybrids are reliable as hell.
You drove the shit out of that vehicle 😂😂😂
yes i did haha
Transmission's not your fault at all. These stupid companies need to quit with these unrealistic fluid change intervals.
There’s actually a severe service interval at least for my f150 ford says every 30k for severe service for the transmission otherwise it’s 150,000 yeah I wouldn’t do that my truck as 214,434 on it with the original 10 speed I didn’t service it until 100k my fault but after that Ive serviced it every 25k
I have owned 4 vehicles. 3 of them had over 250k miles on them before buying a new car and the transmissions ran strong. 3 were gm vehicles and one Toyota. My 2020 Rio experienced transmission failure at 99k after the transmission fluid pressure sensor failed. Everything was covered under warranty. I think I’ll be getting an older car again, less bs to deal with. Luckily I got my car before the interest rates skyrocketed, but I don’t want to get into a new car in this economy. I never had a car loan until I got into my Kia, and the market is kinda messed up now. I’m glad to see some of the older car market going back down , but a car that used to cost 3 grand is going for 7 or 8k in my area.
I just brought a 2024 Maverick. I am 6' 4" and fit very comfortably. The truck reminds me of my old 2000 Ford Ranger which gave up in 2018 with 250000 miles on it
My first vehicle was 1996 ranger with the extended cab. I’m set to pick up my 2024 Maverick on 3/2 so your comment is music to my ears as I’m also 6’4”
@Reluctant_Hero I also had an extended cab ranger with the jump seats. I found that there is more room in the maverick. You will enjoy driving your maverick
What happened yo your 2000 brother mines still running tho she's on her third engine a second tranny
I just saw my first Maverick up close. My first thought was: this truck is definitely larger than my old 1999 Ranger extend cab.
does it really? I’m 6’2 and am worried about it. It will be my first car if i get it. Only con for me so far is my friends will make fun of it and call it ugly
Daniel Deliverz one more time!! 👊🏼 Thank you again for 2 years of authentic content. Been one my favorite Maverick CZcamsrs!
Got my 2023 Maverick. Only 450 miles so far, so appreciate watching your videos so I know what to look out for. I love my Maverick. I put an ARE fiberglass topper on mine so I can go camping and keep everything dry. I have the hybrid and I'm getting 40mpg with mostly in town driving. This is the first brand new vehicle I've ever owned and I'm pretty old....
my first new Vehicle too! haha A hybird would be awesome for the mpg but i need the AWD Hopefully they come out with a AWD hybird
I got a 24 hybrid XL first new vehicle also! I'm 38. I use mine for a work and personal vehicle and I love it! My wife prefers traveling in the truck instead of her Corolla!
EDIT: I'm 6'3" and have no issues with seating other than I wish the thigh support was a little bit longer. Other than I commute 2 hours each day and feel pretty comfy even though I'm a 225lb fatty. Once you have that driver position locked in, your golden. It took me a little bit to get it figured out.
By far my favorite Maverick channel! You don't always upload often (which is fine!) but when you do, you always have some honest content to share! I'm approaching 40K on my '22 model myself and look forward to many more miles! My only regret is that I didn't opt for the FX4 package as I opted for everything, including the sunroof! It would have been worth it just for the instrument cluster upgrade but I didn't realize that when I placed my order =(
Side note, I’m 5’8”. I think I’m sitting lower than I should. I’m wondering if they dropped the seat a bit to gain more headroom. I’m going to lift my seat an inch.
Booyah 👊🏽 😁 👍🏽 🇺🇸
I love my Mavericks hybrid and Tremor
Appreciate it brotha! thanks for Watching!
Can't wait for the 150K mile video. Thank you for making these. 112 signing off.
Thank you for all your videos, congratulations on 100,000. I love my 22 XLT Maverick I just turned 17,000 🤣
Glad you like it. I canceled my order in 2022 and got a Tacoma and tbh I don’t regret it but it’s cool to see that the truck is doing well.
Great review! I have a 2023 Ford Mav Fx4 with Tow Package and am really enjoying it so far. Keep up the good work!
I enjoy your videos dude. You keep it real and put this little truck to the test.
Been looking for this man🤙
Great information on a maverick ownership. 👍
Best videos on Mavericks!
Bro saw your first mav video today. And watched all of yours, and an hour later I get this 😂👍
welcome! haha
I got my maverick at nearly the same time as you. It's interesting to see the difference and similarities we have
Great job on the review as always. Here's to the next 100K!
The lettering and soft top sure great!!! Your videos are great.
You have a great presentation style i enjoy listening to your videos
Same
Thanks for the great review! I am glad I'm not the only one who puts a ton of miles on my vehicles!
I always ruin my seats in my vehicles. I ended up getting dog seat covers for all the seats in my maverick. They really protect the seats better than anything else out there! And they are very inexpensive. I don't mind the look either.
Vehicles are meant to be drove and people make fun of me for it! 😂 like wth haha
Thanks for the update! Have you noticed any creaks or pops in the back window/bed area when driving over unlevel surfaces? Mine has made a bit of a creak or popping when the body flexes. Thanks!
I bought a 23 tremor Lariat maverick. I would highly recommend it. Lane keep assist, higher clearance, better stereo. As long as you can live with the max 2000lb towing, it's awesome!
Not worth the trade off to me . I’d rather have 4k towing ,gives you more versatility, if you don’t off-road much .
Great color and I actually love the rims.
My 2024 Maverick is Schueled to be assembled the week of Feb 26. I got a hybrid xlt with azure gray color. I have enjoyed following your adventures with your mav.
February 2026?! Are you sure?
I've had my Maverick Hybrid XLT for about a year now and I haven't had any issues with my truck. Granted, I only have about 7500 miles on it, but it is comfortable and it runs well. I only have to put gas in the truck about 2-3 times per month. I am a heavy guy, but I have no issues with fitting in the truck and I even fit in the back seat if needed. I do enjoy viewing these videos to see how the truck handles with higher miles on it. I would also love to see how the oil would look after testing it.
what's your overall mpg so far?
I always enjoyed watching your videos while I hade my maverick. I traded it for a manual trans jeep gladiator a few months ago. I loved my maverick but I really love this gladiator lol.
great review, love it, love your dance!
I live in south texas so no need to worry about snow...I do visit my folks that live 50 miles away in country but so far enjoying it!!❤
Love your honesty and enthusiasm about your truck. I don't think you are responsible for the transmission either especially the fluid change issue. Highly doubt that had anything to do with it and even so your manual gave a different change mileage.
I strongly would disagree here. This is a Ford Escape chassis and not meant for heavy hauling of any kind. The kind of wear and tear he does to this vehicle would trash any Toyota and Honda, not just Ford. With that kind of driving, he needs to switch the trans oil every 5000 miles. If you double the load, half the oil change time. Do not trust your driver manual since that is for a typical 10k/yr scenario. Any kind of car--even a Camry, if you work the transmission and engine this hard without proper oil maintenance, will fail even before 100k. Also he said "light off-roading" but that's not light bc of the sand and particles in the drivetrain. I work on my own trucks and I religiously put offer oil and checks on the under body. Oil is everything. I expect this to not last another 50k before more problems. However, this gives me full confidence in Ford bc it's a solid vehicle.
Open Range tires, highly recommend. I put them on both of my rigs, I live in N'Idaho, and have tried several different brands, Open Range are GREAT for snow!
I'm thinking about ordering a 2025 Maverick when they are available so I've been doing my research in advance. Thanks for putting out good honest content.
I would research as much as possible on quality if you are going to own long term. Anticipate 10-15k in repairs if not more and long down times of not having vehicle when repairs are occurring. I would seriously take a strong look at Toyota’s. May not be as edgy looking as ford and you will probably pay “toyota tax” but quality, low long term cost and time returned to you in the future as you are dealing with a vehicle that does not constantly need to be repaired should be considered. Why struggle with something you shouldn’t struggle with?
Yeah, I think I'll keep my 2003 Toyota Tacoma with 350K miles on it and just put a couple K into it to fix a few minor things. I'll get a nice car for traveling instead.
Hopefully they wont be $40K by then
Yeah, I changed my mind. I'm gonna fix up and keep my old 2003 Toyota Tacoma for the dirty work and find a nice traveling car instead.
Besides the transmission, I would say it has been a pretty good truck. That is a lot of miles in 2 years.
Yea but a trans going out that fast is actually crazy. My car has 330k and I’ve yet to wear out the transmission.
The transmission is NOT A SMALL THING
@@victorolmos3639 I didn't say it was a small thing. I said besides that, it has been a good truck.
@@dudeman3186 dudes towing 4k trailer with a 2k rated unibody. I'm more surprised the trans didn't give out earlier. look around in the comments and you can see people say his drove the truck HARD.
Thanks, a 100,000 mile review is actually useful unlike 99% of the reviews. It's a bummer that a transmission could die so quickly. I'd buy one tomorrow if I trusted it. Myord F250 his work purchased and there's already issues with the drive train.
Love the B roll footage
Love your Maverick. Emergency TP. Haha.
Enjoy your videos ty
Yeah Daniel I 've really enjoyed your channel. I was looking at them and run across your channel and watching you convinced me to buy one. I ordered one in october 2022 and 11 months later it finally came in. Actually 1 month before it came in I ordered another one with the Black appearance package. Drove the first one for 6 months and sold it for 4 thousand dollars more than I paid.I do believe the problem you had was not changing the Tdu and transmission units sooner. I would change at 50000 miles if I were you. Of course I know with the miles you drive it adds up pretty quicky but you can have it done during one of your oil changes and it take much more time or money. I was wondering what kind of oil you are running? Thanks again for the content your a nice young man.
Wašte! Thank you.
Very good info. I have the '22 Lariat and the biggest problem was after 10k turning off the 'engine' it would just shut down hard, it would not restart. I had it in the shop for a total of 6 weeks. They finally replaced the 12 V battery and said that was the problem. I think the problem was with the cable from the 12V battery to the starter. Bad connectors. It has be great since that fix. The other issue is the cross traffic sensors NOT working 90% of the time. The shop checked and reloaded the software but still not working properly. At this time I have only 21K miles. I ONCE got 702 miles on a tank but have been constantly getting over 600 miles per tank. Yes, I have the Hybrid. A very petty complaint, for my truck being a Lariat, the inside rear view mirror should be auto dimming, IMO. Otherwise the truck is great, I'll keep it till the wheels fall off.
My co worker got the same truck 2022 XLT, everything is stock, he has 127K miles as of may 2024, no transmission issues, had a leaky valve cover and a high pressure fuel pump fail, he had it done under warranty also, Overall he is very happy with the truck, he also has a 2020 tacoma, , but hates the gas mileage , so his drives the ford a lot
Back with another one 😎✅
I do have one question.. Do you think your next Maverick purchase will be the Tremor? I really hope you can one day.. thanks for sharing.. you have a great channel!
Not a big fan of the new rangers and always been a Tacoma guy but seeing yours has definitely changed my mind a bit. That is a sweet ride brother, good stuff
No such thing as a Tacoma guy. Unless you couldn't afford a full size or wear a skirt. But ladies love them...
So true. Most people in my hood never use their trucks as trucks. I had to get rid of some dirt and my wife suggested I borrow one of the neighbors trucks. I said, "No way, these trucks have never had dirt in them!"
I wish the Maverick was offered with a manual transmission. There'd be less transmission issues wurgy the CVT.
Does it have a CVT?
I was tossed between this, the canyon and frontier. Ended up going with a 2023 Frontier Pro 4x. So far im pretty happy.
Same with 2024 pro 4x. Love it
Apples and oranges. This is an escape with a bed. The others are frame trucks
This comment has nothing to do with the vid but I just wanted to say it’s cool seeing true Native Americans as an American Mongolian we look every alike. Thanks for sharing ur ownership process it’s very informative!
We all came from somewhere...vote blue...and we all live together and prosper
Thanks so much for all your posts.
Thanks so much for the video, Dan! At 6 ft, I do wish there was a way I could raise the seat in our Maverick, but we have the stripped down Hybrid XL version without a lot of extras. Is there an aftermarket mod to raise the driver seat? I love having the headroom, but I also like being up just a few inches higher so I can monitor my surroundings more easily. Other than that, I'm looking to add an aftermarket cruise control, which the XL version also lacks. Besides those things, it is an awesome little truck and that will be using a lot as a one vehicle family with two young kiddos. Looking forward to saving money on the gas mileage, and being able to help people move things around after years of having to ask other people with trucks to do that for us.
Daniel , what size are the tires - they look great ! I’ve got 21k on my 2023 Maverick. I hope it makes 200k . Great review
Dam on march 30th it’ll be 2 years and I already have 21k miles on mine. I thought I had a lot but it’s great to see a maverick hit 100k miles but yeah I’ll make sure to change my transmission fluid at 40-50k miles
Did you get the test blinker recall? I just got the letter.
yessss
I have a 22 as well. Yes, they've had a number of recalls, but nothing that has kept them off the road, which nowadays is not unheard of. They are great little trucks for what they they're built for. I've driven mine through 17 states and Canada with no problems. Your gas mileage statement is very similar to what I've experienced assumed the wind isn't blowing crazy. Overall, I have no complaints given what it cost and what it is set up to do. Anything more demanding with better materials would increase the price and get worse gas mileage which is not what these were designed for. They're great daily drivers imo. Thanks for the updates Daniel! Best Maverick channel on CZcams!
Appreciate it!
I like the BFGOODRICH Trail Terrain 235 65 R17, and Im looking into the. 245 70 R17.
HRG Offroad has a 1.5in lift.
And the lift im your garage.
Booyah 👊🏽 😁 👍🏽 🇺🇸.
I had issues with Android auto keep freezing in my 2024 Maverick. I bought a good quality USB-C cable with High transfer speeds, and that seemed to fix the issue.
Great review. If you got to do it again, would you get a Tacoma or the Maverick? They are not in the same category I know, but I believe many people are cross shopping these two.
i would still get a maverick! its just too perfect for me. Honestly i dont really like the cabin of the tacoma feels too small but thats just me. Mpg is a big thing for me butttt if i was RICH haha i would get a Ram 2500
Do you have a link to the window tint? It looks like it matches the factory rear tint well.
I have a 22 Maverick XLT AWD FX4 w 22K miles on it. My windows are pretty slow as well. Feels like my transmission acts up some times. Hope it goes out under warranty. Other than that I love the truck and have had no issues with it.
I like the Mav but could never buy a Ford due to their reliability and depreciation. Waiting for the 2025 Tacoma!
Wb the Stout?
Nice about to hit 22k on my 2022 fx4 xlt with tow package. No major issues yet
Osiyo!
In what way are the electric windows "slow"? They look fine to me. Also, crank style windows are a lot slower than e-windows.
‘19 ranger has “slow” windows as well. My families ‘10 civic blows it away. Feels like the window motor is struggling
Did they give you a rental car when you had your recalls done ?? And when they did your airbag recall did they put the truck back together correctly as they had the whole headliner out?
beautiful car
Use rain x on the rubber tracks for the windows it should help with the speed of the windows going up and down
Recommend changing rdu fluid as well
my 07 colorado has 108k thousand miles... were you driving this thing across the u.s every weekend?
I love these little trucks, but the transmission issue is a huge ref flag for me when it comes to the Ecoboost. Hopefully this issue is isolated.
Good commentary.
Yup 30 k fluid replacement for the transmission. Ford designs them to last 100k miles. If you want 300k you have to do more.
Where’d you get the soft topper and how much?
Great review. I’m sold on this and am going to get my gf one for us it’s perfect! Thank you!
What went wrong with the transmission?
I had connectivity issues with phone through cable for Android Auto. It would keep disconnecting. I got a Motorola AA wireless device and now phone connects and works flawlessly. Plus no need to plug in anymore.
Nice.. I was shopping for one of these for my kid.. I was lookin at a Tremor package but started to wonder about the Hybrid. Gonna have to test drive them to really see.
Your kid wants a truck. Which this is not
Bro i recommend some mudflaps. I see you’re driving a good amount on gravel and snow. I copped a set of Mabett mudflaps for abt $40 on Amazon because it was the best mix of a flexible flap with a ridgid plastic bolt on section. I didn’t like the hard plastic mud flaps because of potential to break.
Also- u cannot be taking the blame for not changing the fluid when the manual itself does not recommend it. That’s all on Ford- for both having bad guidance and making such a fragile trans.
im picking up my xlt tremor with lux on Thursday so i will let you know how it runs
Nice looking Maverick Daniel. 100K+ miles on a 2022! The oil companies thank you for your contribution (laughing). Just hit 8K miles on my 9 year old 2015 Xterra PRO-4X...
You'll start having leaks soon due to the seals getting hard from not getting used much. Also a lot of short trips are not good on engines, good luck though.
@@jeffaland2268It's not just sitting; I drive it every week, around 15 - 20 mile round trip. No problems to this point (9 years)...
I've got 43k on my 2022 XLT Hybrid towed a little over 4k with it no issues so far
Ahh that's great to hear. I been scared to tow with my 23 XLT Hybrid with 22k in miles. Very reassuring to hear you towed 4k.
Change the CVT fluid!!!
You getting the tremor package next time? I would change out the coolant and all wheel drive transfer cases asap.
Why?.. can you please explain.. am considering a Tremor but have my reserves about the front wheel drive…
Yayaya !!
I been missing you ngl
Wow a newer Ford made it to 100k miles! You must have taken good care of it
Great review! I love 100k updates over 10k updates, I care about longevity. Unrelated, We can help you with the speaker side of thing if you need help :)
I'm pretty sure I remember reading that the Maverick's engine produces more power than the transmission is rated for. That may have had something to do with your transmission issues.
Nice video
How much did your extended warranty cost?
0:52 sometimes I can’t stop bro
Bruh
Is there any chance you could explain what the trans was doing??? I have a 22 maverick
Chuck. If it clunks or shutters or doesn’t shift into gear right away tranny is going to give out also this guy said it shutters still 😂😂 ford sucks for quality 😂😂trade yours in for a Toyota like I did ❤
Good thing you don’t have the top-of-the-line lariat because where you put the light bar would be covering the radar sensor
Dang dude you put a lot of miles on your maverick in a short amount of time also, if you value the MPG, why didn’t you get the hybrid?
How about road noise, integrity? (rattles and wind noise)
I would definitely expect a transmission to blow up without changing the fluid and regular maintenance
A lot of these vehicles they say the transmission is “sealed” and you don’t change the oil. Even my dealer won’t do it and says that. I’m too nervous to do it myself. It looks much more complicated than engine oil.
Thanks for the video. You helped me make my decision. I will not buy a maverick because it’s not reliable
18:31 wow where is that at? Looks beautiful
agreed, base speakers are crappy. My F150 STX also has some crappy speakers and so is my wife's Jetta with the base sound system. ButI'd rather get aftermarket speakers and a small 4 Ch amp in there than overpaying for a factory sound upgrade. $300 in parts and a day of DIY does some wonders. It's an easy fix, honestly
