Another Update about a Week and a road trip later the Truck is Working Good! 🙌🏽 Steelies have been working great
Is it still making that noise? You need another Video to explain.
Easily one of the maverick videos out there
I didn't have "GIANT POT HOLE" on my Bingo card.
Steelies look great on your truck. The dealership treated you very fairly only charging for half hour to work. They easily had an hour plus of shop time.
Thank goodness I got a full spare with my own. I would have never known don’t put a donut on the front. It’s better to have put the full tire from the rear to the front, then put the donut on the rear.
With the oem steelies, what tire size are you running? And do you have any wheel rub?
did you go up in tire and rim size? if so, maybe the doghnut would work with orginal tire and rim size.
On both the Mavericks that I have owned ,I ordered full size spare . I don't know if it would still present the same problem . Also if you had been in a remote area ,you could put the spare on the back and the back tire on the bad front . I think these trucks are front wheel drive on till extra traction is needed .
Yay another video!
I paused and zoomed to verify his odometer was at 105k. It was! Hope he keeps the truck to see if he gets to 200k without problems.
He’s already replaced the transmission…
@@BreathWork.Adventures yeah, I saw that after I had posted. Hopefully my hybrid version holds up better.
Yeah, I really hope it was a one off!
@@finicum11
@@BreathWork.Adventures Yeah, after beating the hell out of it for 100K miles. If you're going to do that kind of stuff, you need to do more than the factory recommended maintenance intervals.
Hows it been in the wind? And on the highway? All we have here is open roads and super high winds and my current car sucks in both.
The chattering you heard is caused when you have different size tires and or wheels on. Driving on a bigger or smaller size will cause that specific differential gear to either spin faster or slower than it normally would with all the same size tire or rims. It causes a chattering noise because they aren't rotating in sync. This can cause spider gear chipping which is not good at all. Try to get a full size spare!
Truck working good now😎👍🏼
It’s probably just the CV joint and control arms upper and or lower.
I’m happy you chose the Maverick. You have the best data. I’m looking forward to you buying the new Toyota next.
I've never seen someone destroy their vehicle faster than you! It's either bad luck or incompetence!
The OEM steelies are my favorite wheels for Mavericks. I'd put them on if I had one.
I would paint them white. Would look awesome with the blue
I'd look for the Bronco Sport Heritage wheels. They look like steelies but they are alloys. They're a bit beefier than the FX4 ones, though
Dang man that sucks!!! :(
Sucks but I’m happy the trucks Working good now and I got a Good pair of wheels for CHEAP 💪🏽🔥
Love yout videos man, keep up the work. :)
@@danieldeliverz3642
Wow, the doughnut on the Maverick is bigger than my full sized tire. My tire is 165/55/r14.
Keep the Maverick!
I just blown up a tire today on my car, nice recommendation CZcams.
Dang it! Hope it went smooth
People upgrade their tires to a different size and forget that all wheel drive cars have to have all the tires the same size and could cause drive train problems
You’re having some bad luck mate
This wasn’t bad luck it was my own fault I seen the hole 😂
Time to buy Lucky Charms 😅
Hope things stop breaking on your truck. Love the Maverick, it's probably the only Ford I have eyes on right now. If Toyota brings out something at the same price I'll probably go for that instead if not I'm going to buy a Maverick in a few years from now.
Thanks for sharing, stay safe 😊
what size is ur tires now?
How are your RPMs at idle?
Does it fluctuate?
@Monkeyseemonkeydo456 I too would like to know this.
NOOOOOOO!!! You can't get rid of the Maverick. We wouldn't be Maverick Brothers anymore 😭 Unless you're going to get a 2025/26 Maverick 😁 I hit a big pothole with my 2002 Mustang dented both rims one had to be replaced just like yours.
Bending a rim can happen to any vehicle, so you cant blame the mav for that. Sounds like your abs was kicking in with the size difference of the tire. So far it seems like the truck is pretty reliable and capable, besides the trans that ford has supposedly fixed since the 2022 models. I subbed because i wanted to see how the mav held up after a lot of miles and use because i want to buy one soon. If you got rid of it and made content with a different truck i wouldnt have a reason to stick around. Depends on your youtube goals.
Bummer, man.
It’s a golden rule. If it’s awd each tire has to be the same size.
In a FWD or RWD car -just put the spare on one of the non-drive wheels. If you can get 4wd to go into 2wd that will work also. Maybe disconnect the drive shaft in a AWD vehicle. With the newer Toyota.AWD the rear axle is driven electrically (no driveshaft) -so you should be able to turn that off in an emergency.
With the Maverick AWD there is a driveshaft that connects thru an electrical clutch. =You mostly run 2wd until the vehicle senses slip and then the eClutch engages the rear driveshaft. = Put that spare on the rear and just drive real consertive to keep it in 2wd (front).
I'm pretty sure my aunt's 2021 Rav4 AWD has a driveshaft driving the rear wheels. As far as I know only some hybrids come with this feature
I hit a deer with my Chevy Colorado and it did the same thing. Turned off stability/traction control and it was fine
I agree that you should get the same size wheel and spare tire for a spare in the event you get another flat you won't have an issue since you travel so much
New Tacoma might be a fun one if you truly want to change trucks.
I believe AWD/computer systems have trouble when tire and or wheels are different sizes and possibly damaging the AWD. I replaced my 17" steelies with 18" aftermarket. I wasn't aware of how this could impact the vehicle in this situation. Knowing what i know now, im considering going with the same type of wheel, but replacing it with a set of 17's. Live and learn. Have you noticed an increase in mpg with the new wheels amd tires? Always great content Daniel! Keep'em coming
You will not have an issue going from 17 to 18 inch wheels. The problem comes from the one wheel(spare) being a different size. Also why with awd I'd you get a flat that's not repairable you have to replace all 4, depending on tire wear.
@elilewis2484 yes you're correct. I didn't make clear. I was putting myself in Daniel's situation with having bigger wheels and or tires and a smaller spare. My factory spare is 17 and I'm running 18
@B-bj5ub just get a full size spare. Seen plenty of people fitting larger spares in the stock location. Then you get what you want with no comprises, plus can rotate it into use as well.
@@elilewis2484 👍
Nissan Frontier would be a sweet comparison.
You can buy cheap hubcaps from any junkyard
If you want something similar, get the Santa Cruz
Daniel, take a pic of that pothole and submit a claim of any $ damages to the agency that maintains that road. Usually, the rule is that if the pothole/dangerous obstacle has been reported prior to your incident, you have standing for a claim. If you are the first constiugent reporting the pothole/dangerous obstacle, it's a little more difficult. But even if it doesn't benefit you, report it for the next person that hits it. Thanks for all the updates. Always appreciated. Congrats on your Chiefs!
Good info. How do you find out what agency patches the holes though?
@@sooner91I would start with calling the transportation dept of whichever agency you suspect it is. If it's in the city limits, start with the city. If it's not their jurisdiction, they will be glad to tell you whose it is. In this age of the internet, most agencies have online reporting, as well...some even have apps, that allow you to upload pics.
If you have not had all your fluids/oils changed and you did not have this dealer change out your diff oil what are you waiting for?
Hope you keep the truck, best maverick content on CZcams 👏🏽🫡
Dang man! I was wondering what it was this time, glad it wasn’t the trucks fault.
For one, I love and miss my FX4 rims, but the Steelies are still dope!
Second, if you want to trade it in it’s your decision. Depending on how much you owe, and what it’s worth with all the miles is something you really got to think about.
Personally I think it would be bad ass to go crazy with it after it’s out of warranty. Up to you to decide what “crazy” can be instead of trading in.
P.S. did you option for the “full size” spare? I don’t recall my “full size” spare being that small but then again I had the stock Pirellis.
Should have put the spare in the rear and moved the rear tire to the front. That would have probably gotten you home.
They really need to design these vehicles to be able to disable the all wheel drive system for situations like this
Would your purchase another maverick
I prefer steel wheels because they seal better.
Look and see if your local junk yard can find you a used rim on there network from a wrecked Maverick.
Nooooo 😢
You don't have to drive through potholes to show us how tough these little trucks are but thanks anyway .they tend to go into limp mode when you have a donut Tire on it
The $100 deductible is designed so you have a little skin in the game. Just imagine what would happen if the customer would be able to bring the truck back for every little noise. The extended warranty would not be affordable at all.
Your chattering was caused by the difference in size between the significantly larger diameter tire upgrade you did and the smaller spare tire Cheerio. The difference in distance traveled per revolution between the passenger side and drivers side tire is too large for the differentials and the antilock braking computers to deal with. The smaller tire is probably generating a big enough speed difference signal that it’s crossing the threshold rotational speed limit specification for a tire losing traction. So the traction control computer is probably applying and releasing the passenger front brake caliper in order to regain its perceived lost traction. It is rapidly pulsing the brake caliper and thus generating the shutter you are taking notice of. If the difference is large enough, it would also sense a difference in rotational speed of the front and rear differential, and could also felt the application of the transfer case clutches as well. I bet that is why when you get the all wheel drive Maverick vs the two wheel drive Maverick, the spare tire is not optional, but included. To avoid the exact situation you experienced.
By the way, there are wheel rear companies out there that can fix your bent alloy wheel. It could possibly be less expensive than buying a new one.
Get the 2024 Ranger.
😧 so sad!
Get another maverick
The tremor comes with a FULL SIZE spare standard.
PTU is broken
NEXT TIME TURN OFF YOUR TRACTION CONTROL TO PREVENT ABS KICKING IN.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Go new Tacoma
Shhh don't give him ideas unless he gets the 2024 turbo version.
Don’t text and drive
Eating and driving actually
Get a Tacoma! It's not the greatest on gas, but im pretty sure you would have gotten at least 100000 miles incident free.
This truck has broken like 5 times now
This one is Driver fault too😂
