As an 40 + year ASE tech , I would advise you to do a little more preventive maintenance on your truck. DO NOT go by the owners manual . All the drive train fluids need to be changed before 50,000 miles and then every 50,000 miles there after. On my personal trucks they get changed out before 20,000 miles and I have always found break in metal in the oil or on the magnet . Good luck on your continued use of the truck .

You seriously need to do proper maintenance at the right intervals. Going 100k without changing fluids in your diff, transmission, transfer case, etc is going to lead to all of these issues. Especially if you beat the absolute piss out of it. And you definitely should not ever be using this thing to get a full size vehicle out of snow, ice, mud, ANYTHING. You can't blame the truck or ford when you aren't taking care of it at all mechanically...

I would turn right at a stop first thing in the morning and it felt like the rear end was binding. I replaced the rear diff fluid, no issues since (takes special fluid gear fluid). Also replace the PTU gear fluid as well. Ptu sits between your cats and the gear oil cooks because of it

So now I'm going to change my own oil.
I've never had such disrespectful techs do work on any of my other vehicles before.
Also, I found that my Power Transfer Unit needed about 150ml of fluid and same for the Rear Differential also 150ml. I filled them till there was a steady stream coming out. I did that around 5,000 miles. So i would have been driving with low fluid levels had i not checked them myself.

Bicycles, ebikes, electric cargo bicycles, robo taxis and escooters are great options for last mile, short distance travel.
Reduced transportation costs and fossil fuels free transportation.
Cities need to do more to encourage people to ride bicycles by providing SAFE, PROTECTED BIKE LANES and trails. Every adult and child should own a bicycle and ride it regularly. Bicycles are healthy exercise and fossil fuels free transportation. Electric bicycles are bringing many older adults back to cycling. Ride to work, ride to school, ride for health or ride for fun. Children should be able to ride a bicycle to school without having to dodge cars and trucks. Separated and protected bike lanes are required. It will also make the roads safer for automobile drivers. Transportation planners and elected officials need to encourage people to walk, bike and take public transportation. Healthy exercise and fossil fuels free transportation. In the future cities will be redesigned for people not cars. Crazy big parking lots will be transformed with solar canopies generating free energy from the sun.

You can remind me the exact numbers but I am guessing your not trading this in ever. You probably owe $30 grand on this thing and beat the living snot out of it. You say Ford sucks but they spent over $6000.00 replacing things you neglected or abused this whole time. If you had any after market warranty they would of denied every single claim. The reward they get for bending over backwards is the title of this video. Nice job! Since you took such great care of this baby your next expense or first expense (no more warranty) will be "Had to replace turbos Maverick sucks!)

I don’t know what the case is here , but if you are doing the miles , you do really need to keep on top of the servicing, because if you don’t, stuff is going to wear out faster and cost you in the long run.
All the best with your car sir..

Have 22 Mav Hybrid. I know better than to buy first year models, but the price was so low. I bit.
Many, many recalls. Airbags, electrical cables, brakes, turn signals and the most recent- dashboard issues - not to mention an unresolved recall for possible crankshaft failure which would cause a fire. Also with 16K miles, the engine is idling rough when cold. Geeze.
Would I buy knowing all these recalls? - no. Do I still like the truck? - oddly yes. As long as it’s under warranty and the issues get resolved - and so far they have. I think some of these ‘recalls’ are Gov ‘overreach’. Turn signals, dash? These are ‘reprogramming’ issues mostly - software. ( I’m retired too, so they trips for recalls are not a big deal. If I was still working, that would be another story.)
Hopefully the newer ‘24, ‘25 trucks have fewer issues, which is likely the case? I’ve owned many new cars. This one has the most recalls.
The truck is smooth, quiet, and gets amazing mileage. Tech is ‘good’ (wink, wink) for the price point. I still look forward to driving it everyday.

Everyone is saying 107,000 is a lot of miles.. HAHAHA 107,000 is still pretty low.. my brother drove a 2002 ford ranger until he finally crashed and wasn’t worth the fix.. he never had any engine trouble and did replace the transmission just once.. he crashed it at almost 890,000 miles and the transmission had to be changed at like 650,000. Pickups are supposed to last.. ford f150s are some of the most reliable trucks out there. Boyfriend had a 1997 f150 and drove it for a half a million miles with no problems but needed new shocks. (Now of course you always need new tires every 40-60k and you need brakes around there too.. that’s given). But yeah 107k is like a new truck for a ford pickup.. and it should last

100K+ miles in 2-3 year? I wouldn’t be asking myself “why?”, I’d be asking myself “why wouldn’t it?” It SHOULD be having these general maintenance issues. Your issue is that there was no natural progression and the wear and tear of this truck, you went from having a brand new truck to having an 8-10 year old truck in 2-3 years! You should expect ANY vehicle to have those sorts of issues under those same circumstances! Also, I hope you paid cash from that truck, cause you’re never getting out of a loan for it if you didn’t. Your $34,000 truck is now worth maybe $14,000…after 2-3years…
