yeah seriously considering this for my next vehicle. Probably do the exhaust and intake wheels and tires out of the gate. It`ll looks sweet with tinted glass etc. Very practical. Not everyone needs a full size truck.

Unfortunately the transmission is designed to fail. It's rated for 250 lb/ft of torque, and the truck has 277 lb/ft. It's under-built, and that's why fluid changes are crucial. Take the Honda Ridgeline for example (also the Passport and Pilot). The Ridgeline's ZF 9-Speed isn't the smoothest, but it comes from Mercedes and is rated for roughly 350 lb/ft, even though the Ridgeline only has 265 lb/ft. It's over-built and designed to last the life of the vehicle.

A new transmission with the mileage you had is very concerning. My Toyota 4Runner has gone 300,000 with the same transmission. I will stick with Toyota for my next SUV. Right now I am changing my upper and lower ball joints. I had a head gasket go about 10,000 ago and I rebuilt my engine. Why do American cars have more issues than the Japanese cars and SUV's.

I’m not sure if this is true or not, but I was told that these transmissions are the same, or similar, as what the ford focus had.

the transmission went out because you were towing stuff and didn't maintenance the transmission. yeah the owners manual says 100K on it, but that is based on you not towing anything and just normal driving. once you start towing you will need to service the transmission sooner as you are putting more load on the transmission, so totally your fault and not the way the transmission was built.

Transmission is out of the transit, which had a class action lawsuit. They knew the design would fail, but sold them anyway without an update or fix.

Man, stop blaming yourself for the transmission. It's not your fault. 100k is a perfectly acceptable duration for tranny fluid changes. Admittedly I neglected the transmission in my '99 Ranger until it was too late. I tow and go off road often. It finally went at 184k on the original fluid. I can see 184k, but not 85k!

I really liked my 2022 FX4 Maverick, but super glad I traded it in for a 2023 F150 Tremor with the 5.0. Definitely wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Maverick, tho.

The only issue the truck has had was you for not doing the maintenance lmfao even my wife works for ford in the service department an said he was dumb an lucky ford even covered it an says this is typical customer who will make a seen an not take accountability for the issues they have an ignore the maintaining their vehicle an blame ford an she says yes ford has their issues but a lot of it is the customers not maintaining their vehicles when stuff is required an I surprised when things mess up.

I just a got '24 Maverick Tremor. I traded in my '19 Mustang GT with under 11k miles. My payment is $195 a month.(5 year loan) I hit a deer in my Mustang then didnt want it anymore. 20K damage.

Your towing, hauling, fording, and off-roading is severe service and you should’ve been on the severe service schedule for all your fluids. 30,000 miles for the transmission fluid. The problem is people often subject their vehicles to severe service but fail to do the severe service schedule because they *think* their use is typical.

What kind of mechanical issues have you had with your Maverick? We've been looking for a new (or used) vehicle, and have been thinking about the Maverick, but I'm interested to see what kind of issues it might have pop up.

80k miles for a transmission issue sounds low, but when that distance is done in 18-24 months I'm kind of impressed (keeping in mind 4 of those months the car wasn't even driven). I would think for a lot of people they would do less mileage per year so ultimately the transmission would cover more miles (as there is more time for maintenance and more forgiving heat cycles).

Partially obstructing the radiator cooling air isn’t the best modification. They gave it the amount of airflow it has for a reason. I don’t think you’ll need the lighting as much as the cooling.

If you have not had all your fluids/oils changed and you did not have this dealer change out your diff oil what are you waiting for?

The $100 deductible is designed so you have a little skin in the game. Just imagine what would happen if the customer would be able to bring the truck back for every little noise. The extended warranty would not be affordable at all.

A Ford mechanic at a Ford dealership told me the other day Most Fords wont make it 100k miles because tranny problems He drives a Kia because their warranty is tons better. 😅

Carplay issues common with ford. But imagine cist if ownership for tranny rebuild and window motor replacing to cust without extende warranty

Did they give you a rental car when you had your recalls done ?? And when they did your airbag recall did they put the truck back together correctly as they had the whole headliner out?

I live in south texas so no need to worry about snow...I do visit my folks that live 50 miles away in country but so far enjoying it!!❤

My co worker got the same truck 2022 XLT, everything is stock, he has 127K miles as of may 2024, no transmission issues, had a leaky valve cover and a high pressure fuel pump fail, he had it done under warranty also, Overall he is very happy with the truck, he also has a 2020 tacoma, , but hates the gas mileage , so his drives the ford a lot

My 2022 Maverick XLT is equipped with XLT Luxury Package, Co-Pilot 360, and 2.0 Ecoboost engine. I’ve had it for 18 months and it has 16 thousand miles on it. I average 27mpg in town and 34mpg on the highway driving 75mph with the cruise on. Very happy with the truck and what I can do with it. I’ve owned F-250 & F-150 in the past but, at 71 years old and retired I don’t need the big truck anymore. I definitely would recommend the Maverick to anyone.

Have you serviced your transmission every 30K like you are suppose to? !
