    Yaya toure was the most compelete midfielder of all time. He could play anywhere in midfield. He moved so quick for a guy his size, he could defend he played as a CB in a ucl final. He could play as a box to box to midfield or CAM and score 20 goals in a season and win a EPL in the same season. What a player so underrated.

      I watched that great man city team he was in alot. He was probably the key player in teaching me to protect the ball especially if you've got a large frame and the strength for it, and being someone that's got less than average technical ability and being too tall to slip past players easily like the low centre of gravity players can, shielding the ball when dribbling made me play much better in sunday leauge and 5 a side. The bad thing about Yaya though is despite once playing as a centre back, at man city he completely neglected any defensive responsibility he had in midfield and became a bit of a lazy player that wouldn't run back but loved to run forward, and Carragher has criticised him for it before on MNF and it must be awkward having to now work witch eachother here lol.

    In terms of quality, Yaya Toure in his prime shadows every midfielder to ever play in PL. Yaya from 10-14 was simply unplayable. Guy had everything pace, power, control, technique, flair, awareness, work rate etc you name it. Most complete midfielder PL has seen tbh.
    But in terms of PL LEGACY(most important criteria) and consistency in their older days(33+) Lampard, Viera, Scholes are better. These players have done it for a longer time and played more important role in their teams
    Yaya's legacy is one of the most unique but still below of the aforementioned names.

  • @alingoxgaming387
    @alingoxgaming387 Před 3 lety +1

    Something you didn't notice is that he placed Henry at the sideline and not Messi. It is a paralyze system. You make opponents think you are not in a position to make a threat. You play more on the right side since most players are right legged. The body system get used to that side and when things turn around its a walk in the park. That was how dangerous Henry was used that time. Even to date they play more of right side. But when ball goes to Alba count it a goal or a threat. Simple logic. The mind got used to Messi on the right being the threat side. One becomes heavier to make a turn, a tackle. Why Messi playing on the right? Simple, to secure him from injuries. A right footed person tackle can hurt more with the right foot. Just like when he kicks the ball. During those days when Messi played on the LW he used to suffer more injuries. Long term injuries.

    Yaya is talking about how Barca use the ball to manipulate opposition defenders.
    I remember Xavi talking about ball movement in an interview. He said that you can pass the ball to move the ball, but also pass the ball to move the players. If you pass the ball in front of your team mate, they should move forward to get it and it brings your team up the pitch.
    But sometimes against organised defenses, Barca just pass the ball to see how a defender reacts. Are they going to step up to pressure the ball receiver? If so, they are leaving a whole in their defense. Is the whole defense going to shift? If one player doesn’t, then they leave a gap that can be exploited.

  • @timmy5876

    fairplay he could’ve stayed at barca and been the second choice to busquets or iniesta but he felt he could offer more going forward to a team so he went to city to play a more advanced role and obviously didn’t win a champions league but he dominated the premier league for a few years.
