Great video, thanks from the UK
Thank you for watching! :)
What actual flesh tone color paint (Model Air? Vallejo? Game Color?) are you using? Thanks. That snap crackle and popping sound? Try plugging your camera into a separate outlet from your air compressor.
I've since changed to using my cameras microphone instead of the Rode mic I was using and my audio is better.
There isn't a fleshtone in a bottle that I use. Every model is different in what I mix up for fleshtones. You can try mixing a few Vallejo fleshtones and see if you get the colors you're looking for, or do what I do and start with just a basic flestone and add red, yellow, and blue to get the desired color you want. It's all just a mixing game. Just go for it 😊 It's only paint.
@@HomemadeJam3D It's only paint? It's only my model! You waved a bottle of your own personal flesh tone paint at your viewing audience in your video. Is the flesh tone paint you use a secret formula? You're killing me. Just killing me!
Nice video.
Is this from the same people that do the official model kit? I'm only asking, as it's identical (except in size) to the one from X-Plus Models.
I believe X-Plus Models just prints and sells the models. This was a test print for the actual model designer that I did. When Brian finished the sculpt, he sent me the files to test print for him, so this was the very first physical print ever done. If you'd like a model printed for you as a kit, I would be happy to do that for you.
@@HomemadeJam3D the X-Plus version is a traditional injection kit, it's just smaller and the pose appears to be reversed.
Thanks for the offer, but I prefer to paint it myself.
Hi, I've watched your videos, and your Vampirella model is absolutely fantastic! I am just enquiring, would you be prepared to print this Vampirella figure and base to sell? If so, how much would you charge for all the pieces unpainted? I live in the UK.
Hello! I would absolutely print the model for you! Send me a message to homemadejam3d at Gmail. It's much easier to chat that way. 😊👍
Also, thank you for watching!!! 🤗
Hello , gj , please tell me what do you add besides paint and in what proportions ? If this is not a secret ;)))
Hi! Thank you! Do you mean when I'm airbrushing? I thin my paint with distilled water, flow improver, water based thinner, and about 2 drops of alcohol. All that to a ratio of about 2 parts "thinner" to 1 part paint or to a consistency of skim milk. I will try to show better in future videos. I appreciate you watching!!
What PSI are you spraying at?
I've got my compressor set at red mark 1 but I also use a pressure regulator quick disconnect and turn that down a little also so I'm spraying with very low air but I like to get pretty close with my airbrush and that keeps me from getting runs and having a lot of overspray.
Is there a flesh color paint?
Sadly no, all my base flesh tones are custom mixed.
I had to laugh. I've seen you comparing Vampirella's flesh tone to your own. That's cheating where I come from. It's easy for you to come up with a good flesh tone, being a woman yourself.
Hahaha well, my seriously pale skin was easily compared to Vampirella's skin tone 😂😂 My painted skin tones seem to be one of the things that I picked up pretty easy. I do think it's a little bit easier for women because we know how contouring and highlighting works just from doing our makeup. 😁 I super appreciate you watching and engaging!! I hope to see you back for more!
@@HomemadeJam3D Very glad you get me. My sense of humor is a bit of highwire act. I either succeed spectacularly, or fall to my death. About that "seriously pale skin" . . . is that really your picture? You look like Vampirella. That's a compliment. Related maybe? Most brunettes with purple highlights don't have freckled skin. Are you sure there isn't a redhead hiding in that superheroine somewheres? My Vampirella arrived in the mail last week. And all this paint. I picked up a Model Color 8-pack set for painting figurines (since you ain't sharing your secret formulas). I also picked up a Game Color 16-pack set for painting fantasy figures.
