you only get free shipping from Temu if you spend over a certain amount in Australia. You also cant buy anything until the total goes over $30 , only then can you proceed to the checkout.
Thanks for mentioning this. I hadn't really looked that closely on Temu's shipping policy, but now that you mention it, in the US "standard" (8-25 days) shipping is free on most orders and "express" (depends on product) shipping is free on orders on $129 and above. They also have a $10 minimum to proceed to the checkout cart.
The big factor that no one seems to really talk about is, if you need to 'return' an item back to Temu is it worth returning it?
With Amazon returns there are no problems because they are U.S. base.
With Temu and Banggood which are overseas, returning products could be more of a hassle in the long run.
I have ordered from Amazon, AliExpress, Banggoods, and recently from Temu, so I have no problem ordering from these places.
Totally agree with you on the returns. In my experience, Amazon will accept all returns with no questions asked (other than a check box and/or comment).
I know Amazon offers a returnoption sometimes and offers Extend warranty at additional cost. Does Temu offer either? Something you might want to add to your list.
I will look into those. Thanks for watching and commenting.
When it comes to measuring devices, you have to be really careful. I got a tape measure that lost half an inch over the run of ten feet. And yes it came from amazon.
Accuracy is very important and a tool that is not accurate is just frustrating. Before using a new measuring tool, I check that its measurements agree with the other tools I'm using. If it doesn't, then I don't use it.
I bought a router lift from TEMU, and it works perfect, no complaints, price right, shipping adequate...and I will probably buy from TEMU again...
That's good to hear. I am sure there are many good products on Temu and I am sure there are many not so good products. Your milage may vary. Hopefully, this video will give you some insight into my experience(s) and help you to decide.
half the stuff sold on Amazon is bought from places like Temu and re-sold on Amazon.. OEM had there patent time to recoup there money for there R&D and sold the item at up to 100% to 500% over what it was worth. I dint feel bad buying something cheaper if its the same. It most likely came from same factory
Amazon does source their products from all over. What I am looking for is good value, but prefer to buy local even if it costs a little more. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I think you need a weighted approach to measure where something like price is more important than packaging.
I agree. I was thinking something like Cost 40%, Performance 40%, Fit & Finish 10% and Packaging/Instructions 10% and/or some sort of 1-5 scale.
A failure on your part with the ruler. Did you check for Metric measurement? How far out was it? Great video.
I almost exclusively work in imperial and didn't really think to test the metric scale. Thanks for the suggestion and on liking the video.
Nobody would care about a tool's packaging unless it's a carrying case. Silly to give points for bubblewrap and paper honestly. It would matter if one arrived in a zippered hardcase and the other arrived in a paper box to be discarded...
Packaging is a sub-category of the entire shopping experience that contributes to 10% of the overall score. It is scored as part of the larger category. With that in mind, the thought behind the packaging sub-category is "did the product arrive in working order". Your second comment, I like it when products are self-contained. The zippered case was nice, because it keeps all the parts together.
The counter bit set from temu, or at least the set i got didnt work. The drill bit itself didnt drill very well at all and the counter bore was awful. I subbed and really enjoy how your videos are laid out. Also the pencils are made in the same factory
Thanks for replying and subbing. I am glad you liked the video format. I am thinking of adding in Banggod and/or Harbor Freight into the mix. Overall, I am not holding my breath on the performance of the either counter bit set, they are short use and disposable.
Many Amazon or Temu products ( but it is the same with AliExpress or Bangood) are often manufactured in the same factory, they are offered on the occidental markets with different brands and different prices (sometimes it occurred to me the same brand and the same product is offered at different price on different pages of Ali/Bangood/Temu, rarely on Amazon ones.
Surely their price is cheaper than Usa/European ones but often their quality is cheaper too ( non always, be carefull that Usa/ Europe products are sometimes higher without any apparent reason and that many products of these brands are made in China ( Bosch, Black and Decker, Makita itself).Surely the quality control of these ones is probably better but not always.
Some chinese factories are good as Usa/Europe ones and their products are very concorrential e.g. miter gauges.
Thanks for the note. I believe that many of the same products are made in China and rebranded for different markets. I also believe that the major manufacturers have QC oversight that is more stringent than the generic copies of tools. The buyer needs to diligent in their research.
The rule was 25mm tall. It doesn't say 1".
You are absolutely correct. I guess I missed that in the description photo list.
Woodpeckers is kinda up there in price. Who buys their stuff? Some rich guys, I suppose. If it weren't for the Chinese, half the woodworkers would be sucking wind in these inflationary times. Just sayin'.
Agree that WP is high quality and expensive. Also agree that you can usually get by with a less expensive tool. Thanks for watching, commenting and hopefully subscribing.

Thanks, it does help.
Cut to the chase , just show me if it work or not
I will try to do my best.
lol Temu is cheap Chinese knockoff stuff. But for most, non precision, technical or electrical items.... their price and quality is great.
Agree, price is good, quality is suspect.
