I am thoroughly enjoying your videos since I have discovered your channel. I am South African. My father was born in England. He was in the Raf during World War 2. My grandfather was a messenger on a bicycle in southern France duri g the First World War. My parents met when my father was stationed in Belfast. My parents came to South Africa a few years after the Second World War and never left South Africa. I have lived in England for 4 years in the late 1980's and so there many interests that I relate to in your videos.... like the 'old soul values'

I had to stop watching for a bit--laughing so hard the tears were running down my face. The footage of Rich wobbling about on the paddle board--with the perfect musical accompaniment--was brilliant. And then tumbling in! I love that you can laugh at yourselves.

I think that Ringo was harshly underestimated as a drummer. He could play the drums! All of The Beatles were good musicians.

You should go, it was lovely.
You won't regret it. Don't go in Dec Jan or Feb if you're keen on the waterfront aspect. It gets incredibly cold and blowy. But that time of year is fantastic there

Hi Guys, I live the other side of the Mersey on the Wirral, So Liverpool is only 5 mins away on the tube or the Mersey Tunnel. The Liver buildings in the background well my Dads claim to fame was he put the first TV aerial on the top of there. There used to be a big garden up there which was where the care taker lived. Didn't they do a lovely report of their stay. I worked on the revamped pier head very proud moment and nice to see it featured. btw phone the estates manager of the Liver Bldg. If you tell him your story I'm sure he'd whizz you up there for a quick look. You can tell him your dad left his tool bag up there!

We recommend it, you need to go at low tide.
Pushing the limits of narrow boating with your new home, brave folk indeed as we saw the incident in the lock with Silver Fox, well done Fran for keeping your cool. Lovely tour of Liverpool, my but hasn't that changed for the better, it used to be a really scary place to be!!
Unfortunately we didn't have any footage of the lock incident so couldn't shot it but is was scary. You are right about Liverpool, it is a wonderful placebo visit.
Oh that was GREAT FUN! We call the wild garlic "ramps" in the Appalachian Mountains. They have lots of festivals during ramps season, especially where husband grew up in West Virginia. Been here 20+ years and they even grow in my yard but i have never had them. They make a ramps ice cream during the festival and it has never sounded interesting to me. Now, though, I am curious. This comment has gotten long and I swore I would keep them short. Liverpool has jumped ahead of London on my bucket list. Thanks!!!

I'm glad you enjoyed your time in my home city. One slight correction, it isn't 'Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral' it is Paddy's Wigwam! The iron men are amazing, there were more but they went to New York, they were all supposed to go but we bought a hundred, I live a five minute walk from that beach. I really enjoy your vlogs, and love the new boat, she's beautiful. Take care, look forward to more adventures (and birdsong).

That was such an interesting video and I enjoyed it all, but the bit I enjoyed the most was seeing the Anthony Gormley statues on the beach, something I've wanted to see myself for a long time, but I don't think my Mobility Scooter would fare well on that lovely beach but your drone shots of the men were great. Stephen I appreciate the adventures as well. I'm in New Zealand, terrified of flying and with covid, travelling isn't an option anyway so coming with Fran and Rich as well as another couple of narrowboaters I'm getting so see a country that otherwise I wouldn't see. =-)

The beach there has some very soft spots, so a scooter would be risky. Nearly lost a shoe!

Thanks for showing us some of Liverpool.. my parents were born in Liverpool, met and married there.. They used to go to the Cavan Club when they were dating and before the Beatles were famous.
Found your channel a few weeks ago, loving your video's, you two are so entertaining, like a breath of fresh air! Also very interesting and informative, brilliant! I have followed along on you floating since you had Constanza. Then I added Foxes to my diet. It might have been from this vlog back when it was released. Any way I have not caught up the Foxes releases. I was just watching their return vlog. So then had to come back and rewatch your trip with the pilot. Wow I really digress. I wanted to say I enjoued seening it again and had forget the theme music. Like the music. Cherrs!
