I love the shots of the canal side flora and also the ‘kid’ kicking the leaves. What an idyllic spot to have to moor up during lockdown. Oh how I envy you guys. Stay safe
Glad you enjoyed it!
Yes the kicking the leaves took me back to scabby knees, runny nose and hoping school would burn down.
Rich, you are such a big kid kicking the leaves and filming yourself doing it. No seriously really a superb Vlog the autumn colours are just gorgeous. Thanks for letting me ride along with you both very soothing. Keep safe and all the best. Stephen.
It is just one step away from jumping in puddles!
Love your videos. This one with all the cruising and Autumnal scenery is beautiful. Amazing the contrast between how you are in such a tranquil spot while other people are tearing around the M25 and various motorways and suck in crowded places. Thanks for making the effort to record your trips.
It is always amazing to cruise under our over the motorways and see the madness of the world rushing by
Great filming of trees. We'll done Rich.
Hello, Hello Floating Your Boat is Back !!!! Fran is weaving .... the world is righting itself 🙂
maybe you need to wear a helmet on blowy days when under tall trees ?
Lets hope it doesn't come to that xx
A really enjoyable video....well done. I especially liked the natural sounds of your trip. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it
Those beautiful trees 🌲 what an uplifting video. Thanks so much 😍
You're welcome
Your vlogs have brought a little sunshine into a miserable year - thank you
Thank you, glad you have enjoyed them
Your filming is stunning. Thanks for your effort to film the surrounding landscape. Loved the music!
Thank you x
Another good vlog. Most people can't be on the canal but watching narrowboaters is nearly as good. Keep well. It's better than working.
Glad you like them!
Hi Guys, didn’t fancy stopping at goldstone wharf and the wharf pub, ( although it is closed ). Mind you where you are now is handy for the shops and water and toilets are only five locks away. Stay safe. Steve P
Not sure where that is Steve, but a closed pub is not much good. It is great where we are though
@@FloatingOurBoat Hi Rich you passed The wharf tavern just before you got tyrely locks. I think Matt and Ali stopped where you are now during the first lockdown. You will only get the occasional dog walker or jogger pass where you are. You can do a nice circular walk from there. Stay safe. Steve P
Two minutes after this was uploaded and 11 thumbs up...no surprise!
I've been binge-watching your channel and I'm loving it. I continue to be amazed watching you two motor through the locks (and aqueducts) with just inches to spare without touching the sides!
Last 20 seconds of this vlog = absolute bliss.
Take care both of you,
Regards Steve
Aaaww, thank you so much Steve
@@FloatingOurBoat Having re-read my comment it sounds like i didn't enjoy the rest of the vlog.....but i did !! them last few shots are my ideal type of mooring.
Take care...
This gave me 22 minutes of calm. Very nicely put together, and I appreciated those quiet parts without music to simply enjoy the scenes. You say you are lucky but we all have choices and no doubt you made many shrewd decisions that enabled you to enjoy this lifestyle. Long may it continue that we can all share in your pleasure. Thanks
You are right Andrew. We do all have choices but so many people are afraid to break free from the rules and many are not prepared to give up materialstic things to get the freedom they wish for. We consider ourselves lucky.
@@FloatingOurBoat I agree absolutely. One must give up a lot to begin with but the benefits so outweigh any losses, I would imagine you both are a perfect example. In my case I was simply carried along by events and I simply had to yield. Having emerged out the other end I have to say I could not have planned things any better! All the best.
Good to see your both smiling despite all the problems in England, we’re going back in to lockdown again here in Panama 🇵🇦 the nightmare is never ending. 🇬🇧🇵🇦👍
Stop complying to the tyranny.
We are both well and in a lovely spot. Although we cant see family and friends we just have to make the most of the situation. x
What a terrible place to have to moor. No high rise building, all day traffic. So I am not jealous much. The white:/Green spiky plant is Chlorophytum Comosum. Common name Spider plant.
I've only ever known them as spider plants. Love them
Do you I really need another narrowboat channel, my feed has already been taken over by them. Yes, yes I do. Much love from Germany. Stay safe and healthy during these crazy times. :)
Ha ha, that's wonderful, thank you x
There is no danger!
Really miss seeing you guys 😊😊
Gorgeous video. I'm with you, Rich. I enjoy the sun but I do love those gray autumn days. The light can be stunning and it really shows off the leaves. 🍂 Fran, one of those succulents (the good luck money plant) looks like a jade plant, which can be pinched back to maintain fullness. We are going into a two-week freeze (kind of a partial lockdown) in Oregon starting today. Stay safe you two.
I have just done that this morning and pinched out the centre leaves putting them back in the soil to hopefully grow themselves.
Another great vlog. Wrap up well and enjoy your walks, you are indeed lucky with your choice of mooring. I can just imagine how cosy it must be to return to the boat to the smell of a jacket spud and snuggle up in front of the fire to enjoy them. Keep safe.
It really is!
Gorgeous fall colors! Thanks for the update on your new boat. Cheers!
Our pleasure!
Richard and Constance! What a good match it would be, she deserves only the best .
Hi Rich an Fran, loving the vlog xx
Thanks so much
Memory’s are great indeed Rich. Trouble is get to my age and you can’t remember the buggers, times do seem to be slow passing said to the wife it’s only 17 days since closing caravan down.and I’m thinking about March already so looks like it’s going to be a long winter, your music keeps me relaxed though thanks safe sailing keep banging jacket tates away
Roll on spring.
Dark and mysterious spooky old woods to travel through, an adventure. I like your side trips, heard others comment otherwise, but the history and vision brought through the lens of your camera are a rewarding sight and something too enjoy. Life's a cruise, stay the course..and if by chance you've forgotten to fill up at the last diesel stop and become stranded in one of those beautiful settings give Rich the gas can, a peck on the cheek and wish him "Happy Trails."
Ha ha. We know we can't please everyone, so we really just do and show what we enjoy and if people want to come along and follow us that's wonderful. If not there are plenty of channels which may suit them better.
Thanks for sharing your life with us! Stay healthy and safe.
Why the belief that they are in some sort of possible danger?
@@areguapiri Why the curiosity?
Beautiful spot for a finish. My best to you!
Thank you very much!
Hi Fran Rich, nice to see you out n about the canal is so quiet this time of year but the colours on the trees are so stunning, nice to see the new build being painted, yes lockdown number two, wonder how long this will last this time ,looks like they have found a vaccination for this horrible virus, some beautiful scenery on this trip,is your new boat having a cruiser Stern so you have more room to sit together with the dogs,,,,the tree roots are amazing to see how far the get from the trees beautiful, well take care keep safe,John 💐💐🐶🐶🍀🍀😍👂👂
Hi John. The new boat has a semi-trad stern so has an encloseed area with some seats and also somewhere safe for the crazy dogs to cruise with us and not have to be shut inside.
The epitome of country living all in that final shot, your dogs will be happy too. Enjoy x.
Good Nz morning folks. Autumn is a great time to cruise. When we hired our narrow boat back in 2008, we were advised to do it in the shoulder season, so September October when weather was ok. But for newbies like ourselves, more importantly, less traffic on the canals. We had a blast.
. Btw, try including a sprouter in your mini green section. Micro greens. Anyway I'm loving your channel. Take care and stay safe. Atb.
Micro greens are definitely on the to do list
Lovely autumn cruise stay safe both of you.
There is no danger on the canals. The water is shallow.
Thank you x
Lovely video
Beautiful episode! Love you guys!❤️❤️
Great video again guys, thankyou🍻
Great blog. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for beautiful views of the autumn colours and also those spectacular tree roots. Stay safe.
wow great vlog guys. what a great spot to finish the vlog in. xxxxx
Relaxing & chilled out as ever... and not a bad spot to be “stuck” if you’re going to get stuck.
Fantastic. What a wonderful journey. Have fun keep safe. Thank you
Absolute loveliness!! Enjoy your perfect spot. 😊😊😊
Watching you folks is my best therapy..... best regards and stay safe.
A feast for the eyes and ears. What a dynamite spot !!!!! Totally agree on the weather assessment. LOVE.
Thank you
Great vlog guys, loved the closing shot - very moody. Stay safe.
🌈 A midweek treat on a miserable day. Thanks so much Fran and Rich.xx
You're welcome
Wonderful episode, cool mooring spot. Looking forward to seeing your walking vids.
15:42 Wonderful. I just love that sound and feeling of kicking your way through a carpet of fallen leaves on a dry autumn day. Also, if you've not already chosen a name for your new boat, I think 'Franrich' would be perfect. Thanks again for sharing.
You are not the first person to suggest that. We have a list of about 300 suggested names now!
Amazing tree roots and it seems so quiet.
Love your zen attitude about waiting longer for the New Boat! Not a bad thing to prolong the joys of happy anticipation 😄
Another few weeks won't really matter as long as the boat is right.
Always happy to see your videos!
Happy to hear that!
So nice to see you both. What a lovely video, they are always a joy to watch and so calming. Loved the memories Rich and pictures when you were younger. Beautiful scenery & such a nice spot you have for lockdown! Thank you for sharing, take really good care, stay well...stay safe! x
Thank you for sharing your travels. Your videos are so calming and relaxing.
Our pleasure!
So beautiful. Thank you for traveling and sharing. Good health to you all.
Thank you x
Good to see you both good luck stay safe and enjoy what life sends you x
Will do x
Thanks for another lovely cruise and will look forward to your walking vlogs. Take care and all the best. Stevie
You are both looking well. Thanks for another lovely video. x
Thank you! 😊
Great vlog guys, it’s great to see you again. Stay safe.
Thanks! You too!
With no intended criticism of the other narrowboat vlogs I follow (nowhere near all of them!) 'Constanze' is about the closest to 'real time' of all of them and I do so agree with loving this time of year. And then you showed bridge 39 which, of all the sights we've seen on our hire boat trips, that bridge is truly iconic. I'm not sure why, but if you want to encapsulatre narrowboating in one image, that weird bridge 39 is it.
Obviously, one shot of the Caen Hill flight, or the south portal of Harecastle tunnel or Stoke Bruerne, can tell an awful lot, but this bridge just sets me off. We have to wait until Easter for our 2020 (!) hire boat trip, but watching you two and my other narrowboat friends, will (just about) fill the gap. Nice vlog guys, as usual. PS: The boat we had to do the 4 Counties Ring had an irritating list to one side that made sleeping uncomfortable. We could rarely moor up on the right side to be able to (temporarily) cure the list. I may be wrong, but I'm almost sure we moored just about where you are and we could use our centre line, the roof hand rails (proper tubular rails not 'moulded in') and a couple of our pins, well hammered in, to create a "Rope Tackle" that would tilt the boat level. You can tell we are Scout Leaders!
Hi Roger. Or good are usually quite up to date, we prefer it that way and can share the seasons with you all was they change. You are right about the bridge. It is one of the most recognisable does on the canals. As for your boat...... It's a good job you are scout leaders.
Love the music, Rich. As always, love Fran’s cheerful smiles!
Aaww, thank you x
We Love You!
♥️
Thanks for including us in your journeys. Lovely colours of autumn.
You're welcome

You are welcome, thank you
Love your vlogs yes we are once again in lockdown so not going on much here keep safe.
How exciting to have new boat to look forward to. Life still seems lovely boating life.
It is exciting but so frustrating having to wait!
Ohh the memories of running through autumn leaves as a child. Love where you are moored.. Stay safe. Jan Australia
Crunchy autumn leaves....up there with hot buttered toast. Love it
Ah, some sanity in this crazy world, thank you both!
Our pleasure!
The cuttings on the Shropie are wonderful at this time of year wirh all the Autumn colours. Thank you for sharing. Nice mooring you have found for the lockdown, stay safe and catch you both again next time.
Regards
Geoff & Wendy
Quite agree with you about the Shroppie cutting. It is so beautiful here
Gotcha ! Sounds like your treading on cornflakes
Love cornflakes!
Love going back to when I was a kid memories are great I used to help my dad at a lock near Windsor bovney lock now my husband and I are looking into buying a boat little did I know then love your vlogs xxxx
Smashin' little cruise .... Hoping the old Lockdown sets you free again pretty soon :-)
Another nice vid. Unfortunately, we have to fight through the lockdown evil.
Love the autumn colours, music was nice this time. Looks like you’re in a nice spot for Lockdown so it will be time for some weaving Fran. Look forward to seeing what you make.
Quite right I have promised myself I will restock my Etsy shop before the end of November.
Good to watch you guys again,I do miss the dark grey cloudy skies (I know sounds kind of strange) but we don’t get too much of a change of seasons here in Florida, so nice to see! Glad your new boat is coming along too, well take care during lockdown, think we will be heading that way soon as well.
Comp!etely agree with you about the clouds. We really do have some fantastic and very dramatic skies this time of the year
ahhh!! cute collection of plants you have there Fran. The philodendron 'brasil' is doing especially well (one in front with the heartshaped leaves). Love to see the progress of your strawberry plants too. :)
Thank you. We're doing our best but will have more room and light on the new boat. It is additive though isn't it?
@@FloatingOurBoat Oh definitely addictive!!! 😁
What a beautiful mooring! Love the trip, just so amazing. Your house plants are great, and strawberries don't love full sun so they should do well. You can try putting the succulents near a light in the boat, leave it on for a few hours once or twice a week. It's not quite sunlight but it does help. Put the jade plant near a light every few days too, see if it helps. The rest look like lower-light type plants and should do well in the window. Thanks for sharing your travels!!
That was a lovely cruise into lockdown. Stay safe both.
Carl.
Thank you
The canals are safe!
Stay sunny and keep smiling.
Greeting from Hollyweird, California. Love yer posts! Lovely team work! Lovely couple! But when ' ya go ' down da pub' like Queen's Head" ....luv a good pub crawl!..please film! .🤓👏🏻🥂👏🏻

Lovely spot! Great colours in this video. Stay healthy this time, folks. - somewhat envious from Canada
We are looking after ourselves as best we can
What a brilliant life 👍
yes, it is x
Love the opening music. Autumn looks great even if it is heralding the colder weather. That Beech tree was spectacular :) Good luck with the impending lockdown you two :)
Glad you like it, thank you
Well Done
Great Video
Must admit I’ve fallen out of love with jacket spuds 🥔 during lockdown.
Had too many.
Stay Safe Both ❤️👍🏻
Love to watch this It’s a world of difference to my boat Rich, an artic on a motorway, I wish I could travel at your speed I think it’s about time I retired and bought one that floats.
My childhood dream was to s long distant lorry driver. Loves the thought of sleeping in that can. Maybe that's why I love the boat now.
Fran x
Love you both your wife is is stunning ❤️
Fran and Rich it was a pleasure ... I really enjoyed the video .... good time lapse from the stern and lovely selection of music from Rich .... Thank you for sharing, hope you are doing OK take care and keep safe .... see you on the next one or hear from you on the podcast (maybe I'll send in a question or two) .... bye
Goran
Please do send some questions here Goran and will do our best to answer them.
@@FloatingOurBoat ok ... For someone like me who has never visited UK but would like to do a narrowboat holliday for a duration of 10-15 days, something easy with few locks, great nature escape and shops which are somewhat easy to get to for suplies ... What canal would you recomend? Thanks
Stay well stay safe
great vlog I've only just starting watching and its lovely to see another side to the story and its a good distraction to what's going on now .
Thank you Colin. Glad you like it
I’m enjoying your videos from New Zealand
