- I do a review of my new Pelican Catch Mode 110 fishing kayak and talk about what I like about it. It is a very nice and stable kayak for the money.

Just ordered mine can't wait until it gets here
Im shopping kayaks right now. I really appreciate this video. I think this is the direction im heading. Thanks again
You will love it. There are a lot of ways to rig it the way you want it to be.
Great Kayak.... you're going to love it!
It is awesome. I've had it out two times, and it's been great.
Ordering one now. Thanks for the great review.
Thanks, hope you enjoy it!
Nice review. Looking at getting one myself. Appreciate your content.
Thanks, I get a lot of compliments on this kayak when I'm out in it.
Great review!I’ve watched several videos on this yak and yours is the best by far, I have the Pelican castaway but I think I’m ready to upgrade thanks.
Thanks, I love it for creek fishing, but for lake fishing I am wanting to add a trolling motor or step up to a pedal drive kayak.
I'll have to check your later vids. Getting and setting up a Kayak is a blast. I rework how mine are set up just about every week and I've had them for years. It's an enjoyable, never ending process.
Yes, it sure is.
Great review! Ordered mine, should be here this week!! Can’t wait. :)
Thanks for watching, you will love it. I did do some more upgrades. Installed a anchor wizard with a anchor trolley, it works great, keeps me facing in the direction I need when fishing. I did a video, check it out. I just installed a trolling motor, can't wait to try it out. I will be doing a video soon.
I have both the old 110 Angler and the 13-9 hydrive. Love them both. Added rudder operated with a pig stick to the 110. Both have Garmin Striker 4, and trolley system on a rope - easy peasy to make. I'm not a stand up fish guy but suppose it's ok if ya like it. I find the Sit-in 110 incredibly low and stable, at 37 lbs it's a one hand carry even with my rudder on. Guess we sould get together and talk Pelicans, love em both.
Looks like a nice kayak, real nice set up
Thanks
Got the same one in April. I have since added a 30 lb trolling motor and an anchor wizard set-up. Love it!!
That's awesome! Did you purchase the optional motor mount for the trolling motor, or did you mount it another way?
@@kentuckybackwaters7717
I purchased the transom from pelican. It is a little awkward to have to turn around to steer . Would like to figure out a way around that.
Can you stand in it?
Yes, it is pretty stable. It has a skid pad on the floor for standing.
Nice setup. A must have for trout in the lakes of Sierra Nevadas. Ain’t catching a damn thing on the shore!
NIce walkthrough.
Thanks
Nice video, I’m deciding between the 100 and this one, that’s awesome that you can attach a trolling motor
The trolling motor attachment is a nice feature. I would like to do a remote-controlled one.
You can hook up steering cables to foot pedals to steer motor
Nice setup
Thanks, my next add on will be a kayak cart for easier transport to and from the water.
I reed a 360 seat and to sit up higher. This boat is perfect but for my needs I’m going with the 10ft Bass Raider 👍🏻
Good choice, the Bass Raider is a great boat. You might need to get more comfortable seats, I heard they can be a little hard to sit on after a few hours.
Nice review, I just picked one up on sale for $680.
Thanks, that's a great price. I paid $799 plus shipping from Pelican.
I paid 730 plus another 80 for the trolling motor mount
@@chuckbareika5478 did you mount the trolling motor on the back with the optional mount?
@Trevor Braun that's awesome. Let me know how it works out. I want to get one also.
Very good you can do it
wife an i just got two of these and took them out these things are definitely worth the little bit of money to get you off that bank!
Yes it is, I can't wait to take it out again.
I actually used a yak for the first time this past weekend and caught a nice brown, wasn’t getting bit on the bank but as soon as I got out the middle of the lake, it was on!!!
@RibEye-ih2mv that's awesome! In the summertime, the fish might go deeper for cooler water.
Great video. I just need the $60k truck to haul one 😂. With a truck I’d go with the 12ft version. I think some trolling motors have directional feet controls. I’m kind of a fan of the pedal kayaks but I’d never leave home without a paddle. A top priority for me would be a fish finder.
Thanks for watching. That would be an awesome setup having a foot controlled trolling motor for a kayak. I'll be checking in to that.
I pull mine in a hatch back with a roof rack
I own this kayak for little over a year. I roof top it on my Corolla by myself. Not too hard. Using 2 alminum bar, form pads and cam straps. Just remember to add front and rear tie down.
looks like a neat setup I only wish it had pedal drive to make it perfect.
I agree. A pedal drive would be great.
My next yak ..
What is rhat mount called and whered u get it?
How is it on speed, sometimes you have to sacrifice speed for stability.
It's not bad, I get around pretty good in it. There are other kayaks faster but not as stable for the price.
I got mine a couple months back I bought the motor mount and it’s a game changer
That's awesome, that will be my next upgrade.
When you added the mounts, when screwing in, did you just silicone and self tap? Also, if you add a anchor trolley system, could you make a how to video, thank you.
I used rubber threaded inserts. They are called rubber well nuts. They have brass threads. You can get them from Lowe's, Home Depot, and Ace Hardware.
I drill a hole put hot glue into the hole and while it's still mailable just wind the screw in never leaks
I thought I could lift 63 pounds but I'm a lady so I had to buy a a suspenz all terrain kayak cart. I only have a 6 1/2 foot bed so I also had to buy a Malone truck bed extender. Looking forward to getting out on the water.
I bought a kayak cart, and it makes it so much easier to get it in the water and load it up in the truck.
Im tied between this one and the one with the hydryve II. Would this one be stable enough to go on canals where some motorboats drive as well?
Having the hydryve II 110 would be great. I haven't experienced any wake from other boats yet, but I think it's probably one of the most stable kayaks out there for the money. I'll be taking mine out on a larger lake with other boats soon to see how it handles in rougher conditions.
Any recommendations for roof racks so i can put this and a smaller kayak on my suv? I tried 2 jhook versions but this kayak is too wide to sit in the hooks. Maybe stack them one on top of eachother instead?
I haven't experienced any roof racks yet, I've been hauling it in my truck bed.
Not a fan of trolling motors in kayaks unless weight capacity is high. Tried that on a predator 13 and with the battery weight of a marine battery and propulsion the back would flood. Water and electricity don’t mix well. So be careful with that idea you might get away with some form of a lithium battery BT your gonna pay out the nose for it.
Plus I like the fact that kayaks are meant for stealth and with any engine that’s gonna delete that advantage when stalking fish.
I agree. I like how stealthy it is, especially in shallow areas.
If the foam starts to peel up, spray some 3M adhesive super 77 on it and put a weight on it and let it dry.
It hasn't started to peel up yet, when it does I will give the 3M a try. Thanks for the info.

Where did you get the rubber stoppers to keep the seat in place
I got them at Ace Hardware. They had them in white and black.
Do you have to worry a out stability when standing up? I dont want to have to pay attention to much on balancing over actually fishing.
In calm water, it's pretty stable when standing up. You definitely have to keep your balance, though. I do fish sitting down most of the time.
@@kentuckybackwaters7717 okay cool! I flipped a shitty sit in kayak and lost a combo so i have slight PTSD lmao most likely itd be just to stretch the legs here and there. Never fished in a kayak geared towards fishing so maybe ill be fine sitting down most of the time.
I wonder where I would mount my 7 inch fish finder... On either side, I guess it will get in the way of the paddling, wouldn't it?
You could mount it in front of the track rail. I have my front camera mount in front of the left one. I haven't had any problems hitting it with the paddle.
I mounted a Garmin Striker 4 in mine right on the floor between those 2 scupper holes in front of the seat. I cut out the rubber padding and installed a Yak Attack Mighty Mount track to the floor and using the Yak Attack Fish Finder Mount. Ran the transducer wire through that closest scupper hole right underneath it. There’s a nice spot right where that scupper hole is for a transducer. There’s a couple of videos out there with ways to mount the transducer through the scupper hole. I didn’t want it attached to the sides that might get in the way of paddling.
do u have a link for those camera poles?
Yes, I purchased them on Amazon. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00EF30Q4S?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

Is the seat able to go even lower than what position it is shown in this video?
No, there is only one position for the seat. You can fold the seat back down for a higher seating position without a backrest. It does get uncomfortable after a while with no back support. The seat is comfortable in the normal position.
Are you able to stand in this kayak? I love this kayak BUT my only gripe is how low the seat is. I find it hard to stand in this also. Other than that I love it
Yeah, I wish the seat had a higher level to make it easier to stand.
@@kentuckybackwaters7717 I live in a 100 acre pond in mass. This lil kayak is perfect for what I need it to do. I do wish I could stand on it. Maybe in due time I’ll get more confidence for that. Fantastic video brother. Excited to see what you do next. I just found you due to this kayak. I was looking to see what others have done for mods.
Wow! 100 acres, that is perfect. I have a list of small lakes around me that only allow paddle or trolling motor. My next mod is going to be an anchor trolling. Thanks for watching my video.
Can u tell me what size bumpers u got for your chair??
I measured the size of the seat frame. I think it was 5/8 or 3/4. I keep the kayak at my shop, I can check the size tomorrow when I get to the shop.
3/4 works great tight fit but that's what you want
The only thing is that 2 layer plastic I wonder if like in few years will it start to come apart
I thought about that. This model came out in 2022, so we will see if there will be any issues.
I have pelican kayaks that are nearly 6 years old and they are holding together no problem.
I have had mine for almost 2 years now and the only problem I have had was fading.
Looks like a decent enough kayak but wish you would have taken off all your rods and started from scratch. Hard to get the feel of the basic kayak itself. ( Why wouldn't you use the back facing rod holders?) Seems like a lot to go through.
I use the rear facing rod holders when I am on the water, I lay them down and strap them in when I am transporting the Kayak in the back of my truck. You are correct I should have had all my gear out of the Kayak when I did the video. I will remove all my gear on the next video to show how the Kayak comes setup. Thanks
is this kayak heavy?
Not really, it wieghs about 65lbs with the seat. It's very easy to load in the back of my truck.
You could’ve tied off with the grab handle that was a wasted spot you could’ve used for something better
good taste?beautiful boat?how many........girls?
