  • I have decided to finally start fishing in a kayak! Being able to access new waters few people are able to fish is certainly appealing. As a beginner to kayaks I definitely have a positive review for this kayak so far! It’s first trip we were able to put the first few fish in the boat. If there are any recommendations for customization or life vests please comment below!

      I did that too and it makes a huge difference. Seat is real solid with those cane tips on there

    I bought mine over the winter because it was a lot cheaper at the time (20% off on Amazon). Even at the full price of $800 I think this thing is a great deal when you consider that right now most angler kayaks are going to be around $400-450 on average. Maybe you could find one for $350 if you're lucky, but they're usually more. They may be around 10 lbs lighter, but also several inches narrower and can hold much less weight. I think the 110 is the absolute best bang for your buck available and there's so much room to add to it. An anchor/gripper is always good. A quality net. I'd also suggest a rod holder on a track mount. I plan on getting a fish finder for mine this week (mainly for depth/structure), but all-in-all this thing is great because you can either use it as is or modify it how you like relatively easily. Oh, and as others mentioned: 3/4 rubber leg tips are perfect to keep it snug as a bug.

      I have read lots of good things about the NRS life jackets. I am debating over the Chinook vs. Raku.

    I have the same one but have not been on the water yet. Soon I hope as the water is warming up. You can get some plastic chair bases to put on the seat to keep it from moving around. Thanks for sharing!

    I put a 55lb thrust Newport vessel on mine and it pulls me around like 4x4. I would recommend an anchor trolley set up, and a couple pad eyes. Maybe a tow rope as well

      @608fishing  Před 29 dny

      With a 55 nothing can stop you 😂 I am hesitant to putting holes into the kayak, but will definitely have to look into the anchor trolly. Thanks for the recommendation!

    I put outriggers on mine in the back that fold up when paddling. Standing up and fishing feels as though you can't tip it over.

    Buy a 360 ergo seat that swivels with the tracks

    Thanks for the video …What kind of rod & reel are you using ?

    • @608fishing
      @608fishing  Před měsícem +1

      It is a Curado DC 6.2:1 and a Dobyns Fury 7’ 0” MH fast. The rod is lighter action than a normal MH, so it’s my favorite for minimax chatterbaits and smaller crankbaits.

    I just got the same one the other day. I’m trying to figure out if the part that comes on it for the skeg is supposed to go on there with the trolling motor attachment or if that completely rids of the skeg when you get the trolling motor or there🤷‍♂️

    • @608fishing
      @608fishing  Před 23 dny +1

      I am not 100% sure, but from what I have seen online it’s kinda one or the other.

      I have the Kayak with the skeg and its a completely different back bracket then the one for the motor. So one or the other.

    need a high back life jacket lets you sit back more comfortably

    • @608fishing
      @608fishing  Před 23 dny +1

      Agreed! I never would have guessed how annoying it was pulling the lifejacket down from riding up every 15 mins. Any recommendations on a brand?

      @@608fishing I'm partial to the Onyx kayak fishing life jacket. It may feel a little 'bulky' at first, but once it forms to you it's comfier. The foam on the back is higher up so it's better for a seat.

      @608fishing  Před 11 dny

      @@Do0msday Way cheaper than an NRS too, I’ll have to do a little research before picking. Thanks for the recommendation.
