- During the John Norris/Guideline demo days 20-21 April 2024 we took the opportunity to film all the Master Classes and Clinics performed by the Guideline staff members and the Guideline UK Ambassador team. First in line is this Double hand casting clinic with Tellis Katsogiannos and Jan Erik Granbo where they talk about the modern way of casting a double hand fly rod. They give you valuable tips and tricks how to develop your casting stroke, anchoring point and how to effectively load the rod for effortless casting and added distance.
Many thanks to the John Norris Shop for setting up this demo days, check their website out at - www.johnnorris.co.uk

The Guideline guys were brilliant on the day extremely friendly and generous with their knowledge. It's great to have this video as a reference. Fantastic venue looking forward to next year. Cheers 👍

Thanks for watching! //Henrik GL
This is one of the best sessions I have seen .Thanks
Great to hear! /Henrik GL
Nice video, discussion and deep dive into spey casting, differences and similarities between the Guideline guys and some good questions from audience, I think everyone can bring something to spey casting as everyone looks at things differently, whether expert or novice.
Well said, spey casting is a wonderful art with many different styles and personal ways. //Henrik GL
Not only is this excellent instruction, but the video and audio quality is excellent. So many of the instructional fishing videos have poor visual and audio quality that makes the instruction difficult to follow.
Thanks for your nice words and feedback! //Henrik GL
Very good! 💥💥💥
Thanks for watching Arild! //Henrik GL
Спасибо за урок.С уважением Григорий.
すばらしいキャスティング参考になります
Thanks for watching, and yes, they are both great casters! //Henrik GL
Hey there,… your explanations are quite clear and concise as with most casting,… lower hand action acting is key,… I have figured it out but for some individuals,.. it’s the hardest lesson to learn ….
Great video 👍😎👌
Glad it was helpful! //Henrik GL
What was the shooting strap that Jan Erik Granbo was using?
Is it a basketball shooting strap or something he came up with?
Hi! No, it is a strap that is made for shooters to improve their stance and swing. //Henrik GL
@@Guidelineflyfish Oh really?! What am I googling to find one of these?
Nice guys. A single handed rod one would be nice too.
Keep your eyes on our channel, we will add another video with Chris Rownes and Rune Stokkebekk casting and fishing a single hand trout rod! //Henrik GL
I don't hear anyone talk about loading the rod! If you cast with the upper arm, you don't load the rod and get lower speed.
If you use the Scandi wat as Granbo showed, you load the rod and get a high speed, and the cast goes longer.
If you use the upper arm, you point the line down to the water, and your cast moves down to the water.
Why don't you talk about that, to load the rod, etc???
If you don't load the rod, you don't need it, then you can use whatever you find in the forest as a rod!
It's pretty clear that if you use the lower arm more you load the rod more just from looking at the cast.
Hi! Thanks for the reply, and we agree. //Henrik GL
Thanks for watching Helge! //Henrik GL
