    I have expressed the opinion for years that vets, with experience, should be given a break when wanting to get into our industry. But that will never change. Mandatory CDL school. Sheesh! Glad dad taught me. Incidentally, I was in the 6th squadron that was formed for Red Horse. Remember them, Airman?

    Hello, how everything has been, congratulations for being active. I have a question if I buy a 40 ft Trailer, what weight can these have? Either Big Tex or
    Gooseneck? I am not well informed regarding this by the time I have the CDL.

    • @shipleytransport3211
      @shipleytransport3211  Před 3 lety

      That’s a great question. It boils down to the axels on it and all the options it has. The weights can vary greatly. Contact a local dealer and see what they can tell you.

    I can't seem to find the Diamond C goose that's down rated for 9990 or even an option for such a thing, is this a model you custom order through a dealer?

    • @shipleytransport3211
      @shipleytransport3211  Před 3 lety

      Because I already planned on getting my CDL, I didn’t worry about it much. To the best of my understanding, they will only derate the 207 to that point. Either way, contact Justin at Quality Trailer Sales in Joplin MO and he will answer all of your questions. Yes, this is one I ordered down to the last option and had built.

      @shipleytransport3211  Před 2 lety

      So to be registered as a tractor, you need to be over 65’ total. I’m right at 60’. Double check your state because there are a few that require you to register as a tractor. Double check with your local DOT officials.

You have a bed space at the back of your seat, so you are good to go, sleep anywhere. I once heard an officer asking a hot shot guy if he has proofs of where he has been sleeping/staying,. I asked did that happen in WI/IA that is where most crazy officers are based lol. Got pulled in WI for Level 1 full, 70 Mins check. They looked for all excuses but I passed .
