I’m worried about pulling the trigger I have an MBRP cat back and I attached it right after the secondary cats but I don’t know how these headers will fit with it. I guess what I’m asking is can I keep the secondary cats on to run these headers?

    • @EssMotorsports
      @EssMotorsports  Před 2 lety

      No I wouldn't keep the secondary cats. My suggestion would be to get some aftermarket high flow cats and incorporate them into the Speed Engineering kit. Might be easier to buy another brand header with cats already incorporated, but it will be pricey!

    • @EssMotorsports
      @EssMotorsports  Před 2 lety +1

      That is funny u ask this as I was doing this last night helping a buddy. Can it be done yes, is it your best and most cost effective solution... NO. The easiest is going to be SE headers and midpipe together. Just installed corsa x pipe with SE headers with custom connection pipes and it was a pain and it fits just OK. The only downside to SE midpipe is you will probably have to use the Halo tunnel brace but that is also a quality piece!

      @@EssMotorsports hey on another note. I am about to finish porting my LT2 manifold and bolting up the LT5 throttle body to it (no adapter). • @EssMotorsports
      @EssMotorsports  Před 2 lety +1

      Not expert here but with that said, You should be fine for a while. The biggest spot where fueling changes with the 95mm tb is at part throttle from what I've seen. So take it easy and let the car learn that area. The car will limit itself at the top end as it will see the extra airflow from the lt2 intake. So probably won't feel much faster until tune.

My rattle goes away when the motor warms up after about 30 seconds. It's always loudest at cold start. Then the noise comes back when starting off in low rpm. Or lets say 2nd gear at a stop sign. (high load low RPM) Dealer can't "hear" the noise. For me, it sounded like top end stuff, on drivers side. but I'm reaching. It's driving me crazy for 2 years now. Have any insight?

    • @EssMotorsports
      @EssMotorsports  Před 3 lety

      I did have a rattle which was my exhaust hitting the Halo crossmember. I had to get some thick washers from McMaster Carr to space it down another .20" and that took care of it. In untuned cars the car goes into Cat warm up mode which dumps extra fuel and retards timing. That is why camaros sound loud on startup until warms up a little.
