Since the Number 17 Master Lock has been discontinued, the model 25 will also work. Just be sure to get the right length shackle. It has a 3/8" diameter shackle and 5 tumblers as required.

I would remove the rubber plugs from those two holes in the bottom of that box and weld them shut before painting. Hoping an ATF inspector won't see something that may be of question when certifying an explosives magazine is just not a good play BECAUSE, one inspector may not see it and approve your magazine for storage, another inspector might check more thouroghly later down the road during a renewal or random inspection and decertify your magazine. When dealing with the ATFE, or any government entity for that matter, if there is any doubt, there should be NO doubt!
What application did you fill out? is it the explosive storage magazine worksheet?
The lock looks like a No5 Masterlock. If that is the case, it only has a 4 pin tumbler which isn't ATF approved. I originally bought a No5 lock and it worked great except for the number of tumblers. So I ordered the commercial version of that lock with 5 tumblers. Everything looks similar but now it won't lock the box. What could I be doing wrong or should i do differently?
What thickness did you put for the metal on your magazine information
Some inspectors are approving them as-is since they're already powder coated. Did you get direction from an inspector to put the bed liner on, or was it just something you did?
Still haven’t been able to find distances for storage in a type 2 indoors. I’ve heard there is no distance requirement but don’t know if this is true?
Can you please help me find a bigger storage unit like perhaps the size of a big shed that will pass the inspection. I need it to big enough to hold at least 40 different firework boxes 📦 if there’s anything like cheap on Amazon I can purchase. Thank you.
Did you say that the locks were a #17? How much and where as I am having trouble finding them.
As I look closer, it looks like I have the same lock you do. 17KA. I haven't figured out yet how to get it to lock the box. It is catching the hook to lock. It slips right out when opening.

How much does that thing weighs?
I noticed you had a toy with an engine in the shed you stored the magazine. Is there a restriction about what can be stored near the magazine? Can you store 1.4 fireworks in the same building? What about power tools like a lawn mower? To be clear, I mean stored, not started.
I keep a rototiller in this shed but that is not started inside of the shed. If you are not starting the mower in the same shed this should be fine but is up to the ATF agent.
Could you have used Flex Seal spray to coat the inside and still meet the requirement?
Material needs to be non sparking. Flex seal might fit the bill
I just read the manual on these and it says not to store gas, gun powder or munitions any flammables inside. Is this just a blanket safety thing or is there a higher chance for whatever reason?

So you kept this magazine in your garage, if so, doesnt the area have to be bulletproof?
I assembled it in the garage but it is stored in a shed and there is not rules about type 4 being bullet proof.

How much 1.3 do you usually fit in your box? Do you have more than one magazine? I saw daves video but wasn't sure if you had more than the 1 I saw
40lbs is the limit. It is about 1 assorted case of 3,4, and 5 or 6” depending on what you want to store.
Cakes will take up a lot of the room but if your just doing shells, if packed right full it would be over 40 lbs.
Can u do a 32 inch ridge box?

That’s awesome great video. Only problem is (maybe not at the time this video was made) rigid has stickers all over the inside of their new black boxes that state “do not remove” and warning against storage of flammable a and explosives, and it’s also the first warning listed on the instructions. I know this because I just bought one. Now I’m not sure if that affects how ATF sees it, seeing as it still meets all of the requirements, but the manufacturer definitely doesn’t want you doing it. Something to look into. Stay safe!
