As we've seen with Meghan Markle, having things like bra lines, pantilines & unsmooth foundation can really ruin an outfit and take an otherwise beautiful dress and turn it completely tacky & cheap in appearance. While these things are not essentials for our daily, it's invaluable when you have a special occasion or important moment in life where you'd like to look your best for the event or pictures (nothing wrong with that!). But a well fitting bra, that is both comfortable and serves your needs IS essential for everyday. It can make a huge difference to our health, posture, comfort and confidence! Most women are in the wrong bra size. And all these tips will help save you money from trying out bra after bra, or a variety of panties that just are not compatible with your body shape. Skip the trial and error (or at least minimize it) by selecting the right style bra and panty for your unique shape, know what you're getting before you buy with this tutorial!
This video is not sponsored, so all the websites and brands I've recommended are ones I've actually worn, own and recommend above the rest that I personally have bought and tried.

One of the best videos I have seen covering this topic and as an ex-fashion designer, I've seen tons, lol! ♥
Just for extra info, sometimes is good to look at the projection of your breast shape.
For example, I have large breasts with high projection and a narrow root, which makes many bras feel uncomfortable and look bad. (Underwire poking at my sides, gaping at the top, overflowing at the sides, etc) There are plenty of bra companies that make good bras for this issue.
In my experience, the "rounder" the shape construction is, the worse it looks on me. I was shocked to look and feel better in one of those pointy bras from the 80s, completely unlined and unwired... just because there was more "forward" room!
So if you have tried everything, check out your projection and try every bra even if the shape looks weird. You never know!

    • @Keapix
      @Keapix Před měsícem +7

I’ve discovered I have this issue. In most bras, the underwire ends up sitting an inch below where it should be. I found one with more projection and finally it sat in the right place and didn’t dig in.

For any bustier UK ladies, I thoroughly recommend Bravissimo. They've never failed to perfectly accommodate my 38DDs, no matter the required style, colour, etc. They have attractive styles for larger sizes & their construction is superb. Unlike some companies (M&S!) who think anyone with larger boobs should simply tolerate paying a higher price for their size, with hardly any styling at all, based on a superstructure which resembles the engineering of a railway bridge.

After decades of uncomfortable bras - couldn't wear underwired at all - I visited a specialist bra shop I found quite by accident. My underbust measurement has always been 43" for years now and following the instructions I would up to the nearest even number, deduct from overbust measurement and that was my bra size. Turns out I'm actually a 38 band and a (UK/EU size) K or L cup - depending on the style. Not only can I now wear underwired bras but I can also go to my local supermarket and buy cheap 38 bras and the odds are they will fit (might need to make the cups bigger but that's what elastic lace is for). My lesson, which was learned the hard - and expensive - way, was that bra measuring instructions are rubbish. You need an EXPERT who can simply look at you and choose the right bra size

One solution might be to go to your local supermarket with a changing room and simply pick a selection of really cheap bras and try them for size going mainly by band size. worked for me after Change closed, I keep my expensive bras for going out and wear 2 for Euro5 rom my local supermarket at home, comfy and they fit though I wouldn't wear them out as the support isn't enough for my liking.

As a larger busted and sized woman, tried the shape wear pants etc. After all the postive comments since I accidentally brought a shapewear slip, love it, now know I just need a singlet one as well. Will now buy a size bigger due to my bust. When it comes to bras, need a sports one Monday to Friday due to working on a farm, and don't need to be popping out of the bra, when pulling or throwing something. Have a plunging one for going out as some tops just need a lower cut bra, understanding your breast shape is so important.

This is the best info video on under garments. I have always hated underwire bras. Very uncomfortable and causes bruises and blood patches. Hate them,...that was when I was skinny, and just had runny eggs flat chested bust. I've put on 25kg, and now my boobs are huge! I was taken by my daughters to get properly fitted for a bra, leading up to being the mother of the Bride for the wedding of my youngest daughter. I was astounded how big those puppies had grown. Unfortunately, they only had one bra that would fit, which was underwire. I brought it, thinking its only for an afternoon and half the night. Now I try it on and it feels like a boa constrictor. I can't breathe. Generally, I prefer to wear sports bras, but they ride up my boobs. My mission is to find a bra that works for me. Thank you for this informative video.❤

I took my daughters to be measured for their bra size at Victorias Secret. They did a very professional job & there was no pressure to buy from their store..but if u need a certain size in a particular color..they have it!

Wow, and I was complaining about my size. I cannot imagine that the shop that measured me would even know where to go with that. I once worked with a lady with an H cup, and we spent a long time shopping for swimwear for her, not online.

I was brought up with the rule: A dress equals a slip. Slips seem unnecessary to many, but the difference is clearly evident in photographs. Sticking with royals, Princess Catherine and Crown Princess Victoria have both had a moment where a slip would have created a difference in photographs; it is unfortunate when a lovely look/dress is marred by lack of a simple slip.

I'm a 36 DDD, and I feel you, girl. It's hard. My favorite bra is the Victoria's Secret Body by Victoria Full Coverage. Balconette bras used to be a favorite, too. This one Freya bra I got from Bare Necessities used to be my go-to, but it was so expensive. I'm glad I found the Victoria's Secret ine because it's way cheaper.

Thank you for those great tips and recommendations! Lately, I can never find the perfect fit. That’s why I usually wear for everyday, a sports bra as I’m the one who HATES bras as the dig in or are just basically constrictive.
I’m older so the fit is especially important!
Thanks again, Beebs. And may I say your outfit, and makeup are so beautiful! ❤

  • @millarayalarcon-harnisch309

I've learned so much about body today.
I would rather have two or three bras of the best quality and best for my body.
Un-expensive bras tend to cost you more, as it cheapens any outfit. I wear uniforms for work, and even then, I want to look great, so a perfect fitting is very important to me. 😊

Great video. Personally, I can't wear underwire I do have a large bust but my breasts are lumpy. And underwire makes it worse. So I use the old standard 18 hour bra. It's s not sexy in the traditional sense but it does its job well. And briefs. I go cotton. And I am always comfortable. An undershirt or camisole and i have no undergarment lines. It works.

I think the YT algorithm recommended this video because I've been in a discussion on a video of Lizzo trying to explain her "I quit" statement in the middle of debuting her new bathing suit line. She put so much work into coverage and good elastic, then forgot to put in ANY support for the girls. I am unable to look at her face. I'm waiting for the moment she will have a costume malfunction.
