How is no-one not talking about the fact that Chelsea were not even given a corner from the handball? So clearly, the referee didn't even see the handball at all, because if he saw it, and thought it wasn't penalty, then he should have atleast given a corner. Then Var should have told him that there was a handball, but is not a penalty, but then from that, shouldn't Chelsea have got a corner? Just dont get these roles.
I’m a neutral, I’ve been saying the exact same thing. Defies belief that it’s so blatant, that they didn’t even get a corner from it, even though VAR literally checked for handball. Shocking they didn’t give it, even worse it was a goal kick.
True. It was a bizarre decision not to give a pen, but to not even give a corner regardless, just smelt of corruption
It's the way var works. It doesn't award the other decisions around the pitch, it's not there to referee the entire match, like giving corners, freekicks and throw ins etc. You only see decisions awarded or changed when it's a red card offence or a penalty.
@@Behold__Optic_Blast ultimately it’s the referees decision, they can overturn decisions by linesman and technically VAR is advisory only (though it’s only happened like once where onfield went against VAR). So the fact he got the advice that it did hit the hand, in itself, should have lead to him changing his mind. That should be a common sense occurrence in a referees head, let alone an apparent top level one.
@@wr9209 no, it doesn't work like that unfortunately, because that would mean that var gave that decision. You're right, it *should* work like that, anyone with common sense knows this. But unfortunately the var mandate says that var does not overturn those things, even if the ref is made aware of it. How stupid is that?
I thought this wasn't allowed to be talked about😂
Yet they think the refs are not corrupt 🤔
I know its mad how much Liverpool have benefited from these dodge corrupts refs
I agree....some of these decisions are utterly bewildering
115 and no enquiry, says it all!
@@LA-fr7fx
It's coming....City are screwed
Victimpool robbing Forest last minute too
Why are people still surprised that a penalty wasn't given against Manchester City? It was never gonna be given because it's City. Officials still wants to moonlight in the lucrative Middle Eastern leagues and Michael Oliver was the match official...he shouldn't be allowed to ref City's games.
FA cup final last season, penalty awarded to rags against Grealish 😂😂😂😂? Keep crying rentboy
@AAL-mu8ms all you weird foreign City fans say is 'cry' is crying part of your culture little man ?
Honestly the inconsistency of VAR and these effin referees is disgusting.. criminal almost ! 😏😤
Football is corrupt. They obviously wanted an all Manchester final
Why would they want all Manchester final? They need to investigate the VAR and referee
Oh, they saw it, but 115 charges have them in their pockets.
Doesn't even touch him keep crying mate
Exactly my point.. they spotted it
@@fifty-five6929😂😂😂😂literally deflected out, they didn’t even give the corner. You need an eye test.
It’s 116 after that game
Corruption at its core
Absolute disgraceful incompetence how VAR just dismissed it. In a World Cup or CL that would be handball every time.
If we get rid of VAR, all of the controversial decisions this weekend would’ve been the same…none of them were overturned by VAR. So we need the PGMOL to improve the standard of officiating all around. On field and VAR
And the handball rule needs rewriting completely. I know this is about Grealish, but for me the better comparison is the Wan Bissaka handball, and the Ashley Young handball because they are identical scenarios…how are they giving one, but not the other?
Coventry would have won though.
@@Behold__Optic_BlastI knew someone would bring that up, but this is about handball and penalties, isn’t it?
And offside is the only thing VAR is actually good for, and that still isn’t perfect
@@GIBBO4182just saying. The argument for keeping var is always about getting better officials, but at some point you need to accept that our officials are bad and they aren't getting any better, even with the technology aiding them. Var didn't give forest a penalty, what's the point of having it exactly? So we can rob teams of glory like Coventry yesterday?
Just get rid of it man. Why people make arguments for this dumb system is just beyond me.
@@Behold__Optic_BlastVAR didn’t rob Coventry of glory though, it correctly stopped Man Utd the heartbreak of losing to an offside goal! It sucks, for Coventry, and for all of us neutrals that wanted them to win, but offside is offside! Wether it’s by 1 inch, or 10. And as I’ve already said the handball rule needs rewriting…we need to clear it up to make it easier for officials, we never used to have this problem when “accidental handball” was a thing. Was it handball? Yes. Did he do it on purpose? No. Play on then, simple…now it’s so convoluted it’s ridiculous
Because it's michael oliver. Not poor refereeing. Refereeing standards have dropped, but it doesn't mean that city are not being favored by refs. This is the third time (even 4th, considering the pen against utd where oliver was on VAR), oliver has favored city heavily. Kovacic not getting sent off, doku foul on mac and now this.
Man City is now known to have these kind of VAR decisions in their favour! What was even shocking was the on field referee not to award Chelsea a corner. Didn't VAR tell him they were looking at a possible handball in the box. Now for him to stick to his original decision was not only shocking but embarrassing.
Quit whining, it is technically not allowed to give the corner from a VAR intervention. Moan at the rules all you like but that call was correct. Now apologise to the referee for your slander.
@@environm3ntalist549 If stating facts is whining, I will never stop. The quicker they deal with the115 charges against City and banish them to the lower football leagues, the better it will be for the EPL.
@@mosestsarai8565 strange that you seem to be sure of their guilt? What special insight do you have that seems to escape the view of most legal experts who suggest City are very unlikely to be found guilty? You speak many things but I’m afraid facts isn’t one of them.
@@environm3ntalist549that's the thing, why no one takes these people obsessed with City seriously is because they're all top 6 rival fans, no one outside that cares..they've all spent atleast 60% money as City and won less than 20% so they play victim, particularly victimpool fans
@@environm3ntalist549 I'm not sure which legal experts are those that are telling you otherwise, football experts are telling everyone, City are as guilty as sin! Keep telling yourself that, it may carry you for so long until the verdict, but don't lose yourself when it all blows in your faces.
Shocking, man who gets paid silly amounts by UAE to ref friendlies gives UAE owned team dodgy decisions yet again
Said the owner of war criminal funder 😂😂😂
@@AAL-mu8ms can’t say I own any ‘war criminal funders’ lad
How did that secret get out about him ref games in the UEA, oh wait it wasn’t a secret, now if you said he’d been out there on the quiet and nobody knew you could call
Something dodgy but it wasn’t so would be stupid of them to not hide it, so no conspiracy here I’m afraid
@@bobofett3966 basic conflict of interest.
Have man city ever even drawn a game or even had a decision go against them when OLIVER or TAYLOR ref them? Those 2 are by far the worst and most corrupt
At last someone reporting on this. And guess what... Michael Oliver is involved with City again!!!
People need to stop saying that VAR is inconsistent, because VAR is incredibly consistent in helping Man City in winning trophies. VAR seems to be orchestrated match fixing at the highest level. One day the facts will rise.
More posts on X on the shocking VAR & more clubs should be vocal on social media. Disagree with Gary Neville and Sky pundits. Get real!
Was a disgraceful decision. If it isn't a pen it's a corner at the very least 🤦
they couldn’t have given the corner because it would then admit it came out grealish’s hand
@@kevaughncampbell7776 I know mate. I'm trying to be funny. It was a joke of a decision
They saw the one in utd vs coventry but not in forest vs everton. Definitely agenders against clubs and VAR clearly highlights that
Lol😂 so you think refs are against Utd?
@@environm3ntalist549 just highlighting how to very similar handballs are completely different decisions
@@environm3ntalist549 4 questionable pens conceded in past 4 games mate. Facts don't lie.
@@sitaylor right, so shall we list all the questionable decisions that went utds way this season and over the years then?
@@environm3ntalist549 Well, waiting...
Add this to the 115 charges. Shame on fa for not even trying to punish city meanwhile they punish comparatively poor clubs like everton and forest.
Its this type of consistency with VAR WHY people have Reservations about VAR, Chelsea didn't deserve that poor refereeing. There were 2 Clear Penalty Calls in that game, being hand ball by Jack and Kyle walker on Jackson.. not one was Reviewed and given.. CITY did not deserve that win.. Yes Chelsea squandered Chances but Fair is Fair.. and those Penalties should have been awarded... VAR HAS BEEN A VERY BIG EMBARRASSMENT FOR ITS LACK OF INCONSISTENCY... PLAIN TALK.
They did spot it,just chose not to give, corrupt var.
How can wan biz have a penalty and grealish not a pen mental.
Easy, VAR for City game employed by UAE to ref friendlies!
How dare you slam VAR for missing a call!!!! The PGMOL should be immune to criticism!!!!111one
They did spot it but it's man city and Michael Oliver
All the officials need to be investigated by the police. There is definitely something wrong, how is it all fans can see yet pundits ignore it and call it mistakes? It's not mistakes being made it's something else going on.
I think I might be able to put a slightly different perspective on this one. I recall that, at the time, a series of replays were shown of the JG handball. From one angle (front on) it didn't appear that there was any contact so a quick look wouldn't have been enough. The matter was seriously complicated by the fact that the live commentator immediately said "DEFLECTION!" This leads me back to what I have said previously about how many officials are actually viewing the decisions. If VAR is being handled by say two people, it is possible that they both might have missed it as well as the referee. This is why I suggested that it would be much better for there to be at least a team of 5 people just in case of that exact scenario. One VAR official can easily miss something, two could, quite possibly do so but, when you have a team of 5 then it becomes much less likely for anything to be overlooked. After all, if just one of the replay officials sees something that could, at least, be enough for the referee to have a look at the replay. My gut feeling was that the incident was looked at too quickly and wrongly dismissed.
It might be argued this could slow the game down or cost more but, in an event of that magnitude, i.e. with with a place in the showpiece at stake, the fact that a handball so obvious was missed was almost unforgiveable. No wonder you now have individuals wondering whether the City fair play anomalies might extend further. 🙄
Shocking
It literally doesn't even touch him. Crazy how blind people are
The var DID see it. They just chose to ignore it because they are probably on sheik yabootys payroll.
The funny thing is the gave a handball against grealish in the final against united last year and almost everyone thought it wasn’t a pen this one I don’t think you could have had any complaints if that was given
Disgusting non decision from VAR the people in the boxes should be just allowed to look at offsides not anything subjective like handballs or fouls
Fun fact, Man city do not have a bigger squad than any other team in the league. They're all allowed to only register the same number of players each season.
Grealish one more of a penalty than the one that coventry were awarded
They spotted it but decided to ignore it
The only ref i believe in is the one who was incharge of spain vs brazil
How about the MU Burnley game?
Why do they come out with statements like that course they seen it they choose not to review and give it getting boring now
Every other pundit I've seen said it wasn't even a penalty.
The refs in VAR can make what ever decisions they want if they'll never be held accounable or questioned. They can be the difference between winning the league and relegation and how much the bookies end up paying out. There needs to be more....... scruteny or auditing
Top of the morning to you lad. 😂😂😂. Lucky charms
In terms of the donestic cups, if there is no VAR in lower leagues, it should not be used in the FA cup or the league cup.
And grealish laughing about after the free kick he know he got away with it
It’s a handball. The shot is on frame, and it hits his hand from at least 10 yards away. Poor decision
It’s the inconsistency that gets me! Not one against Man City or Everton, is against Man Utd. Making it up, 😅😂
Same hand ball was given against Wan Bisaka...
This is part of the problem. No one wants to see their team concede a penalty for the Grealish incident, but the media and rival fans are all screaming handball must be a penalty.
His arms were in a natural position, there was so little actual contact, the onfield ref didnt see it and the VAR couldn't see a CLEAR and OBVIOUSLY contact to call it an error.
Saying the wan bassaka incident was "the same thing" just shows the bias. The ball CLEARLY hits wan bassaka's hand. It was so clear, even the onfield ref saw it.
No one, not the media or most bias rival fan, can tell me that Grealish incident prevented a goal. The ball made barely any contact and went wide. The wan bassaka stops a ball across the goal. Even then i dont believe that was enough to say it stopped a clear goal scoring opportunity. There was the goalkeeper and several utd defenders in the way of any Coventry player.
So why do you think either deserves a pen??? You dont.
Its not the officials fault, the stupidity of the rules means they have to either give a underserved pen or nothing.
Introduce common sense back into the rules. Give the officials the opportunity to give indirect free kicks in the box for non goalscoring fouls ie these ridiculous handball situations and contact/dives of players that are not in OBVIOUS goal scoring situation.
All this nonsense goes away.
Does he slam Caicedo not being sent off too? Or does that not suit the agenda?
Micheal Oliver bottled the Grealish Handball incident, it’s not the first time he’s bottled it and it won’t be the last time…….
oh but they did spot it Jeff... and warded a goal kick... match fixed both semis.
The fans have all had enough... absolutely disgusting!!!
who will hold them responsible for this? why can't we listen to what they say??
A solution for this is to have a team review system similar to cricket for major decisions the league can limit the number of reviews if a team review is upheld they keep the review of not they lose the review. Why is it only var and the ref that can ask for video review? A team should be able to have the same privilege in the event of them feeling a decision us wrong. Rugby video reviewing way better than football lots to learn there.
how did they get away with the non decision on the foul on rashford that put him out of the game, he was clearly blundered into by the knee of the airborne defender who was totally out of control check the replay and watch rashfords boot get crushed
Pep's a great manager - in other countries they do seem to help their nation's teams who are in Europe, but he has a full 2nd X1 who could challenge for Top 4/Top 6. So i think his comments were excuses.
Villa played 120 minutes and a penalty shootout away to Lille on Thursday night and less than 3 days later virtually the same X1 beat a decent well rested Bournemouth side 3-1. And we don't have a squad like City's. We have Kamara, Ramsey, Moreno, Buendia and Mings all out, & Luiz suspended. Only Moreno will play again this season. Our bench on Sunday had 4 kids & 2 GK's.
Unai Emery just got on with the job, no excuses. Lille didn't play any games between the first and second leg (Ligue 1 helping their teams in Europe). We had gone to Arsenal and won 2-0 inbetween the two legs. If Unai and Villa can deal with tired legs and still win then Man City certainly can
Pep doesn't even have a second XI much less one that would finish in the top 4.
Neville and Carragher have already debunked that, City have one the smallest squads I the league..look for another conspiracy theory from the Liverpool fans
Gary neville about to say “jeff resign from your job” cause he talked about var
Gary "let's protect the 12th man" neville
VAR missed a penalty against a Coventry FC handball too

So the EPL is ok when United gets screwed and also ok when city gets away. Yep. Nothing to see there.oh edit. And it doesn’t hurt that he dives like he’s on the Olympic high dive but never gets called for it. A shower of…..

Yeah play on it was going 10 yards wide anyway 🤣
Not spotting? The final was arranged months ago, since the leagues Manchester derby. Hence both sides were cheated through. Should be a chelsea coventry final. But imagine the arguments against cutting the fa cup with a championship side and a team not in Europe made the final... cant be having that, rodris tired
How was Coventry cheated?
@reecemilner4132 are you joking? The offside.. First watch jotas goal then gey back to me. Both were pretty much the same, if anything jota was more offside. The proof is already out on socials, your usual united or sky channels are putting up blurry pics with the sky lines but there's also clear versions of the same pic where the foots clearly onside.
More like UTD were cheated. Coventry player handballed it and no penalty.
@@HareKrsna1 wan bissaka? 😂
Come on bro. That Coventry pen was soft & it was offside. Coventry got cheated by the scum man United players but not the ref. Chelsea were cheated tho. Especially by their horrendous striker Jackson.
Because it hit is arm, not his hand ,
VAR spotted it but decided not to do anything because its City.
Get the AFCON referees in PL for more entertaining football.
Same ref who didn't spot the Doku boot into Mac Alisters chest , that's another game he's helped city out
You can’t really blame the ref too much for not seeing a touch off a player, that’s what VAR is for though
Maybe they need to send VAR for eye check tests before they are allowed to sit behind the monitors.

Liverpool? You are taking the piss.
In the prem, you can see that being awarded to every top team, let's be real. Go ask anyone outside the top 6 if they think refs would give a pen against their team for that, everyone is saying yes. I'm a spurs fan and I know that would have been a pen if grealish was a spurs player. 100% guaranteed. Same way I know we wouldn't have got the pen united got at Bournemouth. Thats how I feel as a spurs fan, imagine how the rest of the league below us feel. Teams like wolves seem to catch a terrible decison every other week. Why is this happening?

Did he slam the ref for not sending Caicedo off for a blatant 2nd yellow card.
What made it even more funnier was Jermaine Jenas in commentary saying it wasn't hand ball and to top it off he gives kevin De.Bruyne MOM.
He's the worst pundit on TV and I'm paying for him clear hand ball.
A lot of immature people in the comments. Many refereeing decisions are subjective. People come to different views. Additionally VAR is not there to overturn every onfield decision so only intervenes in certain circumstances. Children can’t accept this. It’s a lack of maturity.
