the amount of knowledge doug has on all sorts of cars, from old cars to new, luxury cars to muscle cars, it's honestly astonishing. Respect to you my man!
Well since these are heavily edited we don't know if he looks up some the specifics on his phone before what you see. You can make yourself sound like a genius with multiple takes and the internet at your disposal. I have a mate who believed he didn't have the knowledge to start a youtube channel on a particular subject but then he realized with editing and massive resources he could wing it for a while until the details became second nature.

What I love about Doug is he isn't just going around to point out the most expensive cars, he will stop and admire a 60 series Landcruiser, arguably even more impressive than an "expensive car".
Each time Doug makes one of these, it amazes me to see the depth of knowledge he has. He's a literal carcylopedia.
I love Doug, been a fan since the beginning but as a car nerd I see a lot of untrue cliches and missed great info about the cars he shows. :/ I love his style and commitment.

As a Brit in the UK, really loved the 'Car Spotting' videos. As a subscriber to most high profile US car CZcams channels (I like the 60's - 80's cars), it's apparent that the US car manufacturers have no models currently for sale, that can match the quality, design, engineering, driving experience of Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Maserati, Lamborghini, and even bread and butter VW stuff. Why has it taken Chevrolet so long to join the 21st Century and produce a mid engine Corvette with a sequential gearbox, - the C7 Corvette has been amazingly successful in GT racing world wide. Astonishing really.
The address at 3:15 is of Dr. Howard. He’s a professor at Georgetown with a focus in AI.
He put the transformers outside to lift spirits during COVID, and his neighbors complained. He’s been battling the legality of keeping them on display.

If you don't pick up on it, Doug seems more interested in unique and quirky cars rather than being another youtuber in Cali with a McLaren. Not everyone is into the L.A lifestyle of big mansions and supercars, no need to be angry at him. At least he is promoting an actually useful site, rather than some shady sponsor brand.

Absolutely love these car spotting vids, Doug. I personally car-spot pretty much all the time, but with barely half the automotive knowledge and far less interesting street-parked cars to spot, so it's an absolute treat to watch you do it!

Being in Europe, and seeing Americans call an E400 Wagon a "rare/luxury car" is quite funny, but then again, here we would be impressed by a Dodge Ram
Not many new e400 wagons in the part of Europe where I live. Definitely a luxurious vehicle.
@@derbaeumaed8158 Hard to tell here in Germany. Most people seem to order them with the decals removed unless it's an AMG. But there are definitely many, many E class wagons on the road. Probably not as many as Audi A6 Avants but I guess they come close in numbers.

I own an E350 wagon in the Milwaukee metro area in the US. I live in a neighborhood with $1M+ homes and I haven't seen another E series wagon in months. This video amazes me. I flew to Ohio to purchase mine.
I bought it as a nicer performing luxury vehicle, which I could commute with good mileage, still fitting my big dogs and kids. Also 3rd row rear facing seat...
I just don't understand why wagons aren't a thing here. People think they're going to be big off road people. I've never had a problem with snow, and also have an SUV from subaru which has been off road once in 3 years. Buy a car for your every day, and rent for your aspirational days.

I as a German am pretty surprised by how much attention the Mercedes station wagons get from Doug because here in Germany they are one of the most common things. It feels like everybody has one
When I was in Germany all I saw was mercs and audi's😉 and some old dudes driving porsches
well yea bc its germany + its europe. europeans love wagons and germany has a lot of mercs.
as doug mentioned people in the usa don't care for wagons too much, its suv's. but he mentions older americans do go for the wagons. i agree with this observation. the only wagon in my neighborhood, which is a merc too, is owned by a very old couple. everyone else is in an suv or sedan.
