Top bloke, no arrogance about him. Raised well.
02:25 mourinho factor yet again
Yeah hes great is Jo Cole.
It is amazing with all the hype on him at a young age that Joe didn't turn into a bigheaded bellend. Parents did him good. Top man.
Qwerty Qwertyson also the culture at Chelsea. Very humble & they don’t put up with work alots
And jose
@killwill83 He got a big injury in his prime. Never recovered.
@killwill83 but the real ones know how good he was.
He was at Coventry in the twighlight of his career. He was such a positive influence on the dressing room and he also got involved in the community which for someone on loan was admirable.
The Chelsea team of 2004-5-6 was simply scary. Big personalities, physically strong, tactically smart and very very efficient winning machine. Those were the days.
Gotta love Joe Cole, decent guy with no ego. That Chelsea team of the mid 00s was just a winning machine. They were so powerful and mentally strong it was scary. Mourinho of that era was special, he demanded so much more from his players and it showed in the games that they played.
That along with Rafa Benitez defined that time frame in football.
The game has moved on from the mid/late 00s, players are no longer the same I'd say more "snowflakey" and I assent to add more social media driven.
But what great time to enjoy the game back in the mid to late 00s.
Teams just aren't the same any more.
Think of Chelsea back then it was a team of powerhouses. Same with arsenals invincible season.
@@MakinaMakinaMakina Plus United and Liverpool were so powerful too. The best era was the the Premier league in 98 - 2008 BIG4 era. Four genuine WORLDCLASS teams that were very much feared in Europe as well.
@@Bossman525 Definitely my man, football has changed so much, most teams now are all full of small midfielders, small wide men, small forwards.
Each to their own and what not but I always like watching teams that have the power to bully teams and play with flair, like I said that Chelsea team with the likes of Drogba, Lampard, Essien, Terry, Cech etc.. Arsenal with Campbell, Lehman, Gilberto, Viera.. United with Vidic, Ferdinand, Rooney, Keane etc...
Also inter Milan when Jose, that team was insane man they had everything, Power with Lucio, Zanetti, Cesar, Maicon, Samuel, Cambiasso, Motta, but then had awesome players like Milito, Eto, Sjneider even Balotelli.
@@MakinaMakinaMakina Amen to that comment brother, world class POWERFUL teams that will not be replicated in modern football.
Frank Rijkaards Barca was more dominant in terms of play as apposed to the more tiki taka Peps Barca. I preferred the more powerful Barca team of Frank Rijkaard's then the later version of the more delicate football of peps.
But again two very different but quality teams.
What a time it was to be alive, being able to watch those great teams.
Everything Mourinho does for the players is to benefit them. Some don't see it now. But with age and maturity, they start to catch on how much of a great mentor he actually is.
Bullshit..he has isolated and incorrectly sold many players.
Nonesence, when he benefits them ,they benefit him as well coz they get medals and trophies
@@Irishesbox11 often players are sold for a variety of reasons.Take De Bruyne for example, he could not get enough game time. He was up against Willian, Oscar, Hazard, etc. obviously looking back now it is easy to say it was a bad decision but...
Joe Cole was at his peak during 2005-06 season. He was the best player of England at 2006 World Cup. After that he suffered two back to back injuries and missed the most of 2006-07 season. He never gained his top form after that, just a spark in 2007-08 season and after that he just faded away at the age of 27, what a shame.
Respect Mourinho, Mourinho respects.
Very well said.
One of the best technical players we produced in the last generation but our game hadn't quite caught up with him. English game was way behind
And still is.
Chelsea benchwarmer. That's the reality.
Joe Cole, Robben, Drogba.
What a trio. 2005-2007
Really liked Jo Cole. He was an amazing and underrated player. Much love
One of the most underrated players ever. He was one of the reasons why I fell in love with Chelsea and the Premeir League at an early age. Loved that nickname Rio and the guys gave him at West Ham. Conjurer!
My favourite England goal is his volly v Sweden
Got his name on the back of my England shirt after that game
I will always remember Joe Cole's goal against Sweden.
Class
My brother and I started screaming in the living room, my mum ran thinking something had happened, saw it was football and just gave us evils and walked back, God bless her 😂
loved joe cole as a player, seems like he has such a good personality as well
Cello sssueiidfhdte
Incoming the mourinho haters... they seem to forget his 2010 treble and numerous premier league titles.
he spent 300 million on a team and cant win games....
A M The players downed tools.
Not at Inter. Jose made that Inter a great team even when Zlatan left Inter
Mourinho is a joke manager always gets destoryed by Klopp. What a fraud.
Run Ronaldo Run #THEBESTINTHEWORLD call him a fraud yet praise klopp right got ya
Mourinho that type of guy who wins trophies.
Jose is an enigma and football would be dull without him
Flav lol football was also dull with him 😂😂😂
Without him haters will have nothing to comment. Pundits and entire media will loose job
Absolutely
Absolutely
Trying to get him to say something bad about Jose, but he's a loyal soldier 👍🏼
Classic Interview from Joe Cole lol
Who else remembers that 2006 World Cup goal? Can't remember another time I went as crazy over a goal than that one
Seb Kennedy nah I think trippers freekick got whole of england bezerk
Jose Mourinho the type of guy to smile and laugh when he loses a game and throw a tantrum when he wins
No really
hahaha yeah sure
Top manager
There's three pundits in this video. Jose has won three premier league titles. Respect man, respecccct.
Exactly
nice to hear some one who appreciate morino work at this time thanks cole
as an american growing up watching the game always loved Joe Coles playing style . One of top technical players from 🏴
Joe Cole at 25 now would be worth 150m and one of the top players in the world, ahead of his time, still quality though
Relax lol.
About 90m imo
What a skillful player. Also humble
Joe seems like a such a genuine bloke doesn't he!
Fergie did exactly the same to Rooney, Ronaldo etc so when Rio is asking if Mourinho took the magic out of Joe, ask if Fergie done the same, Rio! Oh wait... won’t have a bad word said against him!
Definitely agree that Rooney was turned into a roleplayer
His early talent never flourished
man I'm 24 don't watch football often except when the opportunity to jump on a bandwagon but I always remember loving J Cole, turns out he's a cool guy also
What’s the problem of keep blaming jose and saying jose ruin player lol?! He’s one of the best coach in the history
because those people only watched football since 2015 lol
Mourinho the type of guy to start Mctominay over Pogb....
Fahim Shah Mourinho’s the type of guy to start Mctominay in CB instead of Bailly
That's what jose to become wroset manager
Because attitude matters and sometimes attitude > potential
Fahim Shah and rightly so?
In a sense, Mourinho was right. Joe Cole had like 2 GREAT years but never he was considered the best in the world, whilst Frank Lampard... he trully was one of the greatest ever to play in that position. Still Mou had the knowledge to educate and praise Joe Cole for what he did but he trully could have been so much more.
But then again we (the general public) are unaware of so many things that these glimpses of interactions of players and coaches are so interesting.
I would love to be a manager at that level, or at least have the opportunity of witness a full season under a Football Manager that coaches any top flight team.
Statistically, Joe Cole played the best football of his career under Mourinho. But apparently Mourinho 'ruined' him because he didn't hug him after every game.
J Cole could have been much better, Mourinho was not good for him
peter burry Many players credit him for there success. After he left Inter everything fell apart
in fairness he was about 22 when Mourinho took over so there wasn't that much before the supposed ruining
this comment made my day!!!!!!
Gotta give it to rio, even in a conversation about Joe Cole he attempts to have a go at mourinho, even suggests it's joses fault for Cole not fulfilling his potential. The mans obsessed
Joe Cole was some talent man. As a United fan nothing but respect for JC.
I often wonder why people on youtube think others care what team they support.
Love Joey Cole. Legend!
I'm glad I watched this, seems a very grounded bloke. Top player in his prime too.
One of the few times i liked to watch England play is when Joe Cole was playing.
It's amazing how players just love mourinho. They would give everything on the pitch for him
What a player he was
God i loved joe cole i miss old chelsea that group of players(joe cole, ashley cole, lampard, essien, drogba,) really bleed blue. Chelsea now is filled with mostly mercenaries players how come for the coach or 💰 or who think chelsea is some kind of stepping stool to 🇪🇸.
5:01 the best part HAHAH
What José did to Joe then is somewhat reminiscing what Tuchel is currently doing to Ziyech & Abraham
As a football fan. Damn! What a fantastic signing on a free. 20 or 30 mins from the first game Red Card and he was never the same. Mouthwatering to think, he could lift some burden from Steven Gerrard but. . He came at the wrong time. Time when Liverpool was mismanage on the pitch and in the boardroom.
I use to love watching Joe a great player
Looool wouldn't expect Frank to be so savage 🤣 What a team that was!!!
A player with great feet. Could play in any team in tbe world at his peak.
Top player and top manager!!!
What a lovely lad
The NBA have a show called "inside the nba" where former player gather and talk about funny time, tough times, successfull times ect, we need a show like that with a good setup for footballers, id be watching every week for sure!
Remember watching him for West Ham against Liverpool in about 2001 and the guy was honestly a joke. Only way Liverpool could stop him was hacking him down at the halfway line before he got too close to goal. Unbelievable player.
As a Bayern fan, I really adore Rio...He is a real gentleman.
I wonder if Joe ever thought about moving to a different country that would suit the type of player he was earlier in his career
played for Lille for abit mate
Ashley Henighan the damage was done
Spain would of been perfect for him real were a mess at the time and needed a player like him.
@@SuperTonygrant earlier in his career
Fantastic player!
I remember j.cole. damn too good.
Joe Cole. Easily my favourite of the Peaky Blinders and that mixtape he did wit Jeremih... Airplanes was fire.
I’m blues fan I like JC/ I just happy to see him
He was competing with Duff and Robben hi his place, so they had great competition for the two wing places.
Duff and Robben wrecked the premiership with drogba upfront
Mourinho is the type of guy to pour his milk before the ceral
What a freak
Thats coz he is feral dog.
I do that ..didnt know it was other way around
Monster😤😤
i know it's been over a year but... exactly...
My favourite player for years
Never forget, Joe Cole ruled the soccer am showboat late 90s early 00s
Those were the days!
Prime Joe Cole was pretty fast and skillfull.
As much as I like Joe Cole, I don't think he's made for TV as a pundit but I hope he has success with coaching.
Chelsea legend in my eyes
Top bloke. Chris Sutton absolute plum. Right dry lunch.😉
Chelsea legend... Top bloke...
My favourite Chelsea player, him and Essien.
That's the mentality that makes Jose's teams successful, when players are able to take criticism...not like the current man united players that wouldn't stop whining.
Mourinho was not the same when he came back to Chelsea, or the players mentality was very weak to accept him. Sad times for Chelsea.😪
regular Joe he still did pretty well in his first two seasons on his second spell but that’s somehow often forgotten by people
Him at West Ham with Di Canio🔥
'The Conjuror'
glad joe is now back in chelsea in a managerial capacity
Joe was great
When I first started playing fifa, young Joe was the best skiller for years in the Chelsea team. Used to do defenders dirty. Great talent and undoubtedly a Blues legend!
Out of context question here, do they really have a studio in every stadium or the background is green screen stuff?
5 minutes London to Brussels?
Me and my mate used to watch soccer AM every Saturday and as soon as the ‘showboat’ came on take bets on how many times joe Cole would feature. This was mainly in his West Ham days. Everyone said he would be the next gazza. Mourinho turned him into a more defensive minded player which took away his flair but added a to a more rounded football player.
He’s underrated imo
class player
Cole is a cool dude
My favourite Joe Cole song is No Role Modelz
My favorite player any day.. Unfortunately didn't play up to his potential!
Favourite england player - one of the only ones who could actually dribble
Jose also said he scored from a corner that he owed him
I remember the Joe Cole that Liverpool had... ... ...
Jose used to be a tactician, now he's a mecenary, just going around making millions.
Joe is soooooooooo cool,
joe cole is eden hazards doppelganger
Im Leeds but Joes a good lad, England could have got more out of that generation with a better coach.😊
Jose is the Tony Ferguson of football....
gogo!
Absolute baller
Joe shut the door on jayjay being a younger option when they signed him from West ham
Jose beast for chelsea
Jayjay okocha
This is the different about Mou managed team at 2000 up and 2014 up.. the way now is different not like the old time..
I think if Jose given the all he need at the club like chelsea in 2004/2005 , intermilan or even porto.. he can give another champions again. Iam a chelsea fan and still now hope he manage chelsea one day if Sarri leave.. He and Ten Hag ..
I think maybe the comments on unfulfilled potential are more to do with Joe seeming like a top bloke and was obviously an exciting player, certainly in English terms, so it would have just been nice for him to be mentioned alongside players like Lampard and Gerrard. His trophy haul is in reality really impressive but I feel like if it was with a different club he would have stood out more as Mourinho has never really valued players like Cole as much as other managers do.
Love him to bits, but he's certainly not as eloquent as Lamps...
Wait, joe cole is old 😮
what a player he was.. wish he was at arsenal
I'm one of those who thinks Joe didn't reach his potential. I understand why he went to Chelsea, and yes he did win alot there, but, he was not any part of the reason they won so much. They'd have won it without him. He was never really trusted in the middle at Chelsea, particularly by Jose who preferred bigger lads. So he was stuck out wide for so long there. He was never trusted to be free. Jose even threatened to sell him if he did one more backheal. That era of lampard, Gerrard and scholes debate should have included joe. He was every bit as good as them, maybe even more so. Could have been gazza Standard, i really believe that. But he's overlooked as a great. Because he was never allowed to shine as a central player. Still a great career, but should have been so much better for me.
he's there he's there he is every f.... where Joey Cole COYB
