      He has just introduced Drones at Roma training ground. As well as a giant screen in the field to show players their mistakes in real time.
      First time ever that method is being used in Italy.
      And Roma scored 12 and conceded 0 in 2 pre season matches
      I have a strong feeling Jose is coming back with a vengeance this season

      It goes same for Pep tho. I've seen many Mourinho fans cussing Pep, claiming they would've done if they manage City etc. smfh. Do people really think coaching is that easy? If you have full of world class players in your squad, you dont have to tell them anything. Just send them to pitch and inshallah they will score. Thats what haters think.

      Italian football suits his style but I think the game is starting to move past Jose tactics. Only sir Alex has adapted with the game in the last 40 years in Britain. Could argue that Aragones and Trapattoni also fit the description but not many have longevity for the reason they don’t change to suit the game accordingly. Jose IMO is too stubborn and I think he may fade into obscurity like Brian Clough previously. Yes it ain’t that simple and other factors are involved, but he isn’t the guaranteed win he used to be. Listening to J.T talk about how Jose was with everyone from the ball boys , Medic right up the coaching staff, IN TRAINING, shows us how soft football has become these days. That incident with the Team Doctor , that became this huge media fiasco with exaggerated tales of abuse and sexism epitomized that. Jose was never the same after that , he lost just that little bit of the edge, that expressive passion that he had that made who he was. Sir Alex , Pep , Klopp , Conte and definitely Van Gaal would have reacted the exact same way but now they have to hold back , imagine commanders on a battlefield, in the heat of battle , being told that they have to mind themselves in the moment , wars would be lost and football games are no different...And this is why managers today struggle to get the best out of their players.

    • @docwhat8370
      @docwhat8370 Před 2 lety +3

      This is exactly right. Players have to buy in and commit to what he's asking of them. No finer example than Samuel Eto'o in Inter's 2010 Champion's League win. One of the world's best strikers, 2 time CL winner himself. Mourinho asked him to play wide on the right and he went up and down that right flank from covering his full back, to supporting the attack. Ego would have led another in that position to think it beneath his talent, but Eto'o bought in to what was asked of him and became the first (and perhaps only) player to win back to back trebles. Rafa came in and reverted him back to his striking position, but Mourinho looked at how the whole would move together, not the individual parts. I really think he is one of the greatest of all time and deserves his reputation to remain among the Pep's of history. Pep's play is innovative for sure, but he always went where there was money and success beforehand. Mourinho had no money in Portugal and (a short stint at Benfica aside) succeeded, Chelsea had money, but had not been Champions for decades before he went, Inter could do nothing in Europe despite domestic dominance, Real had not won anything for several seasons and had not made it past the last 16 in the CL for nearly a decade, he also won La Liga and set a new PTS record in a league with Pep's all conquering Barca, Chelsea were 5 seasons without a title, Man Utd he won more trophies and amassed the highest season PTS total since Sir Alex retired, a massively declining and low spending Spurs he got to a cup final and he set a record equalling start to a season for wins at Roma. Sorry, this was way longer than I intended.
