It wasn’t obvious (unless you had the subtitles turned on), but the one who killed Dr. Gero’s son (the basis for Android 16) was Goku as a kid, when he fought the Red Ribbon Army during the original Dragonball series (which preceded Dragonball Z). If you listen closely, you can hear Kid Goku charge the Kamehameha blast that killed Gero’s son. The video of Gero’s son was actually an original piece of animation that Team Four Star commissioned specifically for the scene.
That's no actually canon though, is it? Goku killing Gero's son?

@@iansrife5107 Nope, Gevo was a ruthless soldier that got shot during a war, but Kaiser Neko thought making Goku killing him would be a better motivation for Gero to kill Goku than "I must avenge my employee!"

Fun fact, that recording by 16, and Bulma saying the date sounded familiar, is when Goku stormed the Red Ribbon army HQ as a kid. In the background you can hear Goku charging a kamehameha and when the video ended is when Goku shot it.

My favorite part of the Goku/ Bulma interaction is Goku thought this revelation about where babies come from was so important that he had to let his oldest friend know.

Goku basically figured out that when a Saiyan transforms, they eat up a ton of energy. SO, his idea was: transform and light spar until their bodies get used to being SS as a new "normal". So the power from transforming can be used elsewhere. When Goku's smart, it's spooky. lol
Well not even just that, the form itself eats up stamina and energy. So doing it for longer means your body gets used to the drain and compensates and you adapt so you don't lose as much.

4 star didn’t do after buu tor many reason, but one of the biggest was burnout

If you don't want to say Mr. Satan's name, then feel free to call him Hercule instead. That's his official censored name, which was used in the original televised broadcast of the show in the US, and has become widely accepted as his first name.
It's also his DBZA canon name. Mark Hercule Satan according to Kaiser

To answer your question about TFS not doing the buu saga, they explained that they wouldn't do this saga as it's already got more comically influenced by Akira Toriyama himself, which is true. Buuut then out of nowhere 2 months ago they dropped a video called 'The Buu Bits' which is a sort of brief recap of the whole last saga, parody of course. So at the end, thankfully they kind of did do the Buu Saga :)
There are many reasons why they didn't do the Buu Saga. They were felling a huge amount of burnout and that became apparent while working on a Movie called Bojack. Another reason is that they don't want to deal with more Copyright shit from Toei (They already had Strikes and even their Channel deleted multiple times because of Toei). So those are pretty much the main reasons why they'll never do Buu.
They actually have done that now. Not using their usual episodic format, mind you; they did it more similarly to their Kai Abridged videos but it is there now. Just look up "Buu Bits."

They seem to confirm that in their latest DBZA Commentary where they're trying to dispel the rumours that they'll be continuing on DBZA after they're finished with the commentary.
To be honest, I thought they'd do the Buu Saga as a surprise for viewers since when reviewing his work, Kaiser was saying a lot of "woulda coulda shoulda". Didn't help that they brought up repeatedly about how things could be done differently if they made it now. So, to some degree, I still hold onto hope for a bit surprise after the commentary's done.
At the same time though, without spoiling Steph here, I think it was good that they were intentional on making the tone of the season seem final.
If you'd prefer not to use the champ's name, you can do what the funimation dub did and call him Hercule.
TFS recently did a bit of the next saga in a series of clips called the Buu Bits. They made them to be included in TotallyNotMark's review of the saga. It might be worth checking out Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters or reading a synopsis or the manga before you watch them, since the format leaves out the context
16's video was a reference to a Toriyama interview in which he says that No. 16 was based on Dr Gero's son who died. This interview was years after the series had ended (I want to say 2014) and has no bearing on the original story.
The whole video was animated specifically for DBZA which is really cool, even more so as Dr Gero's son is actually killed by Goku way back in the Red Ribbon Army arc as in the original story Dr Gero's motivation was revenge on Goku for defeating the Red Ribbon Army, but this added scene makes it feel more personal.
Mister Satan was introduced at the end of the Cell arc as a comedic relief character, a role he fits very well. Satan is the great deceiver and well, Mister Satan certainly lives up to that reputation. He has a major role in the Majin Boo arc which TFS never adapted the full story, only a few scenes.

Basically Super Saiyan is their normal level
Main reason they gave for not doing the Buu Saga - the bit with the 'Pink Guy', Majin Buu - was creative burnout, according to an explanatory video they released.
Also, while they didn't go on to complete the fourth season, they've done two entirely original sequel series - 'Dragon Shortz', five episodes long, and an ongoing 'HFIL', which just released its tenth episode...as well as a collection of scenes from the Buu Saga, done Team Four Star style, for another artist which they've collected as 'The Buu Bits'.
So, y'know...there's still a bit more DBZA content after you finish the main series with the four part Episode 60. Hope you decide to do so - your reactions are pretty great!
"With a young girl shooting a little boy in the face" which is literally Goku and Bulma's first meeting in the very first Dragonball manga.
It's a little hard to hear, but while Gero's son is talking, in the back ground beneath the guy saying "some *thing* is tearing up the compound" you can here a young Goku chanting "Ka-me-ha-me-ha." And the date sounds familar to Bulma, because she was there when Goku destroyed the Red Ribbon Army.
So, now we know why Gero hates Goku so much.
Goten shows up in the Buu-saga, yes, set several years after the events of Cell. And I think at least one of the reasons Team Four-Star stopped was that it was just getting too hard to negotiate the mindfield of copyright.
To be fair goten also appears in the android 13 movie, so even without that you wouldn't have avoided the spoiler of goten's existence 😅

There is something called "The Buu Bits" which is the Buu Saga heavily condensed into 2 Episodes by Team Four Star. If you are intrested in watching it passed the official Seasons of DBZA.
You know, if the reporter had just said Mr. Perfect Cell at the end,Cell probably would have let him live and the world would know all about Goku, the fall of the Red Ribbon Army, and the existence of the Dragonballs...
There is some dubbing TFS does for the Buu saga. It's not episodes but different scenes of the saga, "The Buu Bits" and it's about 30 minutes long.

That edit moment with "Gevo" (is real name/after Android 16 is build of) died by Kid-Goku then by this very Kame-Hame-ha..and that was really important to the worldbuilding..a part which the original show kinda failed if you ask me. TFS gave so much dedication to this. Because they love it. But that never means its flawless..
I believe the main reason TFS didnt go on to the bu saga was mostly due to having to figjt copyright claims. That and they might have started to feel burnt out.

Can you check out dragon ball z kai for the next saga in the story when you’re finished with DBZA? Pretty please? That way you can continue watching the story and we get to continue seeing your reactions that we love to watch. And it would be really fun and interesting to see how you would react to seeing how the characters really are like in the show and seeing how you compare and contrast abridged and the real thing. Team 4 star stopped doing DBZA just because it took a lot of time out of their lives just to get one episode out and they didn’t make a profit from it and they had constant battles with the copyright claims that they always had to deal with. So basically they were overworked and tired and they felt it was also leaking into their work
Oh also there's the Cell Vs you could watch if interested before the Cell games. Just be sure to skip the fist of the north star/kenshiro episode.

You need to watch the Cell Vs series before you continue the episodes. They're a mini series kinda like the movies.
They're basically a bunch of jokes about other TV shows, they're not essential.
