The age that the tail stops growing back is the same age that Akira Toriyama forgot about them. He's very forgetful.
As far as in story goes, if a Saiyan's power increases to certain point, then their tails won't regrow (for example: Vegeta & Gohan didn't grow their tails back after the Saiyan Saga). Kami made sure Goku's tail would never grow back, and then Akira just completely forgot when it came to Trunks & Goten.

Goku regrown his tail about 3 times but he was about Gohan’s age but when he’d got to late teens to early adulthood that’s when it stopped

His name is usually pronounced Turles, but in the original Japanese it's technically "Tulluce" aka lettuce.
All the Saiyans are vegetable puns. Ka-carrot, Radish, Vegeta-ble etc.
I was under the impression his name was Turles as in turnip.
@darkkhalwb huh. So I looked it up, we're both wrong, sort of. I was correct that it's a lettuce pun, but in Japanese his name is Taresu, and the Japanese word for lettuce is Retasu.
I suspect a lot of well meaning fans have done the Tullice pronunciation/spelling because they knew it was a lettuce pun, so we're either trying to more closely match the pun in english, or just didn't know better like me.
Teeeechnically, there is still the Kai Abridged episodes. Those are all very short & could probably be crammed into one video, they're kinda chaotic lmao. One of them delves more into some Garlic Jr. stuff as well.

Also, remember this specific special was done in 2010, more risque stuff like the Rudolph joke was a little more commonplace lol. Stuff like that is just kinda chalked to being "a product of its time".

but I think I read somewhere the movie logic(tm) reason why Goku looks like Turles is the idea that they are both low class saiyans and I guess they all look alike? (ignoring Raditz, his brother....)
yeah thats exactly what they tried to pull. But. It just doesn't make sense at all. Especially when we see so many lower class saiyans later in the bardock specials.
They could have just bullshit turles into his Uncle/Cousin or some kinda of relative to explain the similarities
It does makes sense, and that explanation doesn't mean that all lower class Saiyans had to look exactly alike.

Obviously just my opinion. It feels like a throw-away line for a throw-away guy.
The Tree of Might was the third movie in the DBZ series (after Dead Zone and World's Strongest and before Lord Slug). Its general placement is after the Saiyan Saga and before Namek.
However, this was the first of the movies that TFS did and it was done around Christmas time, hence the Christmas theme going on. Turles was a pirate that had been off planet during its destruction. The tree originally sapped away all the life force of the planet, hence why animals started dying off.
The actual movie wasn't that great compared to all the others and it really was just a "oh here's a side adventure" type of thing. I think its main attribute is it's the only Z movie that featured the side characters more.
Also, the Saiyan tail thing stopped happening when the author completely forgot about it. Dude has memory issues with his own canon. Anyway, it's generally believed that if cut off after the Saiyan body got strong enough, it doesn't have a need to re-grow the tail. So like, Vegeta's was cut off after reaching a specific power level (in the series, Piccolo grabbed Nappa's tail and it was shown to be ineffective) so it never grew back. Turles may have been strong enough to not need the tail, but it was never cut off.
I can't remember Goku's tail removal, though. Like if they used a wish or whatever.
I think Kami permanently removed Goku's tail when he was training with Popo in the lookout when he was a kid.
@@vojake100 That sounds about right. I don't recall Goku ever becoming the great ape again after that tournament, but I do recall them wanting to restore the moon.

In the English dub, Turles says he looks like Goku because lower class Saiyans have a limited gene pool , or some thing along those lines. I just remember the explanation being really weak and lame
So does that mean you are going to skip all 4 after season Kai episodes? and make a man out of you. Thats a shame because they are really funny.
