In the original version Gohan thought Goku was holding back during his fight with Cell but Gohan thought that because he was comparing Goku's power to his own and assumed that he just wasnt getting serious yet.

The Teleport Kamehameha is imo the best Kamehameha in the series
Seriously shows how intelligent goku is when it comes to combat fighting strategies/ anything else he is a bit simple.
It was… but the Kamehameha in the DBS where he surfs Keflas energy beam during the tournament of power has actually managed to top it.

@@joejames1794 She did, even if it's only for a few minutes. She's pretty prominent in the first half of the Buu bits. We get several scenes between Gohan and her.
Goku had no choice at all. Cell was holding back against him, and he was at his limit.
Goku also is the second strongest person in that group, Gohan being the strongest.
1. Nobody knows Gohan's true power except for Goku, that's why he was so relaxed leading up to the Cell Games.
2. Goku knows how to gauge a situation, there was no way he could beat Cell but the Saiyan in him wanted to take a swing at it.
3. Goku gave Cell the Senzu Bean to keep him cocky and prevent him from ragequitting and blowing up the Earth.
As for #2, Goku also probably wanted to give Gohan a chance to observe Cell's fighting style, and techniques.

I think you're misremembering. Goku and gohan leave the chamber in episode 55, and he starts fighting cell in episode 58

3:20 they didn't make it a major plot point in DBZA but even in OG DB normal humans had trouble seeing some of the fights (was more of a joke but I loved it). When they were fighting Nappa they had to teach Gohan how to watch high speed fights. so the joke here is that it's impossible for those normal humans to see what's happening.
Last episode even Piccolo and the rest had trouble keeping up with the fight, and Gohan told them they'd have even more trouble once Cell and Goku started taking it seriously. First hint how far beyond even the Z-Fighters Gohan was.
@@LowbrowDeluxe The interesting thing is that Gohan was wrong. Goku and Cell were giving it their all. Gohan just had a mental block on the idea that he could be stronger than his father so it never even occurred to him that what he perceived as them warming up was actually their best.

Piccolo can't regenerate if his head is damaged. If Cell's regeneration worked the same way Piccolo's does, that Warp Kamahameha would have killed him. Doctor Gero gave Cell wanked out regeneration capabilities far beyond Piccolo's.
That's why Piccolo said "I am 90% sure I can't do that".

He's got Vegeta's cells in him, so it was guaranteed to work.

8:53 You may have figured it out later but what Turtle and Master Roshi are talking about isn't that Trunks is any kind of problem it's that Roshi has a restraining order that keeps him from being allowed within 50 feet of a minor. In the original Dragon Ball Bulma was 16 and kept making sexual advances towards her and when he went to Martial Arts tournaments he had a habit of trying to hit on girls in often inappropriate ways so at some point he was arrested and had a court order put against him.
After episode 60, there is the epilogue episode too
It's funny because piccolo isn't supposed to be able to regenerate if his brain is to badly injured. How did cell do that?
In DBZA it seems canon that Mr. Popo commands Shenron so I would think he can get anything he wants. He controls the wish granting magical dragon lol

He can. In the Buu saga when Dabura turned him to stone and then Trunks broke his statue he regenerated from that.

Piccolo would not be able to regenerate the way cell did.
HOWEVER, he can regenerate his full body back if his head is all thats left.

Honestly, it's kinda funny how they try staying in the ring. As if a ring out would really mean anything. I guess they're keeping in the spirit of the tournaments historical to Dragon Ball, but it's not like if Cell landed out of the ring, he'd just give up and leave Earth in peace. Or if Goku landed out of the ring, he'd stand back and give Cell the a-okay to blow the planet up.
Goku is a threat to his family, the earth and the entire universe...
And that was his ego speaking there.. Gohan in this is more like a 10,000 times stronger then him as a kid :P
Now for authenticity's sake, we need a one year break before episode 60 🤣 (if you didn't know episode 60 took a year to come out, which made it become kind of a meme haha)
Also Goku isn't a good dad, but honestly at that point in the story Vegeta is much worse (poor Trunks)
But given the final product, the wait was worth it.
Goku, in abridged and mainline, is a moron. That said, he's also an incredibly insightful fighter and probably has the strongest combat instinct of anybody in this series and beyond. The scene of him in the Hype Ebonics Rhyme Chamber where he was talking about battle tactics and the elevated Super Saiyan form was very accurate to his character.

it might actually be a good idea for you to split the last three episodes into three different reaction, it'll make sense so if you do, and you still have the epilogue.
So Goku deferring to Gohan here kind of goes back to the original intent for Gohan's character. Toriyama had come to a point where he believed that it was time for Goku to pass the torch, so he wanted Gohan would take over at this point and become the lead character, while allowing Goku to fall into more of a background supportive role. However, his editors nixed that idea, so this was _pretty much_ the point where Gohan peaked. Unfortunately, TFS did not continue into the next and final saga of the original story, but they did just release the "Buu Bits", where they abridged specific scenes of the Majin Buu arc in a looser format that still tells the general story, but that also cuts out about 90% of the original content.
I am well aware of Toriyama's plans and the editorial influence on Dragonball however I think it was actually Toriyama's idea to bring back Goku as the main character. He did plan to make Gohan the main character but when the time came to do that he... just kinda didn't like it. That was the inspiration for bringing Goku back. I could be missing something but that's the impression I got from all his interviews.
People should be more careful of what they uncritically absorb from sources as pure as "I read it or heard it somewhere."
@12:06 Out of every single person on the entire Earth, Goku picked the single guy that was NOT elegible to take over the fight with Cell. Mr Satan had already lost fair and square via ring-out. Goku sugesting him is violating the rules.
I mean if anyone was still worried about the rules, then Cell lost at 05:07 as he was the first to touch the dirt.

Are you going to watch the buu bits. All the buu bits scenes are the length of a full episode.
They actually didn't change the Instant Transmission Kamehameha too much from the actual show. They just cut out all the fat of everybody becoming increasingly paranoid that Goku's anger was going to his head, and that he was actually going to blow up the planet by firing from that angle.
And as for the regeneration, Piccolo cannot do that, exactly. Piccolo can regenerate from near obliteration, but he requires his head to still be intact.
Thanks to Frieza cells, which allow him to breathe in space and is very resilient

Cell's regenerative abilities have little to do with Frieza. He can breathe in space because of Frieza, but his ability to regenerate from almost any injury is because of the special nucleus inside of him. A feature that can probably (or at least, I've always assumed) relocate to different parts of his body if it feels threatened. Unless the nucleus itself gets its own resilience from Frieza, but that would only be applicable to what happens later.

A lot of people really misunderstand Goku here, he lives to fight more than anything in the world, of course he loves his family and friends too but he has put them at risk in the past for the sake of a good fight. He doesn't fight to win, he does so in order to become better than he was yesterday, to keep improving himself. He does not have an ego like Vegeta, when others surpass him he is not angry, he is happy.
When he gets the oppertunity to spend a year training with his son he loves it. Of course Goku does not realise Gohan doesn't like to fight, he wants to spend time with his Father.
When Goku gives Cell the senzu think back to what Vegeta said about Goku not having one because of his pride. Cell does not have that pride and will happily take the senzu. Goku is so confident in his son's abilities it's almost the ultimate diss from Goku to Cell, my son in so strong he can beat you even at full strength.
Goku loves his son, in his mind this is exactly what Goku would want, to fight someone at their best. As I said before the mistake Goku makes is misunderstanding Gohan. Gohan is not the same as his Father, even if his Father does not realise.
Can't wait for you to get to episode 60 1-3 and the epilogue
Goku ain't even top 20 worst anime dads. He's pretty decent if you've actually watched the show.
