Real winner
This performance was way, WAY more than what I expected...random guitar solo was randomly welcome, and his vocals proved everyone wrong that thought he couldn't do this live!
It deserved the high jury votes (and, in all honesty, higher public votes)...while Chanel may have been the dancer who sings, Sam Ryder was the male vocalist above all others this year!!

Anna - Alina, Kalush Orchestra won fair & square. I hope your country is at peace long before then so you can host yourself. If not, I think the best thing would be for you to host in the UK. Use our building & infrastructure but your presentors. In fact, if Ukraine cannot host in your country, then I will write to the BBC to suggest we offer to let you host here. The only problem with that is that Ukraine businesses will not benefit from the extra tourism the contest brings, but that cannot be helped if you haven't managed to fix everything following this awful war. His performance was absolutely EPIC. One of the most outstanding performances in years in Eurovision, amazing vocals, such a beautiful character and a truly lovely presence. I have to say from the moment I heard the song, I knew it will do great. So happy about the results, he is a true WINNER.

I can't tell you how happy I am you've finally seen what we've seen for months. He's fantastic, the best ever British entry since the early 70s imo. Yes, it was a retro, soft rock sound, but it's what we're great at in this country. We gave the world the Beatles, the Kinks, the Rolling Stones, Led Zep, the Who, Queen, Radiohead, Muse & now Sam Ryder. He was a worthy 2nd place. I'd have wanted him to be first if not for Kalush Orchestra. I also love France but somehow they bombed, although I still love their song.
Goy, I've been saying for months Sam's like a labrador or golden retriever, all happy & bouncy & never showing any unpleasant characteristics. He just seems to happy to be alive & making music, & delighted to be having new experiences & making friends. He's been a wonderful ambassador for the UK & we've needed someone with this attitude who loves Eurovision for years. I'm so glad he decided to join TikTok 2 years ago with his covers.
That's the thing with reaction videos, our first view is often not how we feel in the end. It's hard to form a full opinion of something or someone so quickly, and the magic of ESC is the journey! Sam blew me away!!!! And he seemed so so so so genuined!

Personally, he was the best, by far! Sam was the star of this edition. The foreign press loved him, the bookies favoured him, the juries adored him and he had fans all over the world. His voice and stage presence were absolutely out of this world and his performance was a beautiful homage to british pop rock. I was totally on board from day one. Unfortunately for Sam, the support for Ukraine ended up winning the night. Music can also be political and this year the message of solidarity won ....and rightly so. British fans should be very proud!

Eurovision is about unity and if voting for ukraine is people's way of showing solidarity to our fellow european country at their plight, then it is truly the right message of eurovision. Ukraine won rightly and England is definitely happy for them.

THe bookies don't favour anyone. They're not about giving money away. Their odds are based on reactions (in this case, reactions from international juries and media) and who people are actually betting on.

One of the best performances of the night without a doubt and should have won! No shade for Ukraine but this was just something else and i’m gutted that Sam didn’t win. So close yet so far! I love him, what a voice, what a light person, he was grate, it's so sad that he lost his place because of politic.
Eurovision was made to unite Europe. You may not agree with the overall results but that's exactly what happened. Pre-war the song by Ukraine already was in the top 10 in the odds to win. The song is a banger, and never has the message of their song been clearer. Their win just solidified that we Europeans stand as one, and I think we should find beauty in that.
Aside from that... Sam absolutely nailed it. He should be very proud of what he's done for the United Kingdom.

This competition is not about politic,it should be only about the music,their song is not so good to get so many points, it is ridiculous that Moneskin who were much better, last year get less points then Kalush, so we can see why.
@@user-yf7wn5zz2z Apparently more people DID agree with the result otherwise they wouldn't have gotten the highest points, wether you find the song not good is subjective.
Think of the last few winners that we've had.. Netta's "Toy", Mans' "Heroes" and Jamala's "1944". Those are also political songs and are all justified winners that people massively voted for. Eurovision will always have some sort of political influence in it and in this case the win of Kalush Orchestra is a united message from Europe that we stand by Ukraine, if you don't see that isn't a beautiful thing you should look within yourself.
@@sendmeplantpics then close this competition because there is nothing to do with music, it's about we stay with Ukraine. There are a lot of other platforms to tell about the war, and they get a lot of support with weapons, shelters for Ukrainian people in Europe. And come on, they got so many points because of the Ukrainian people around the world. Even Toy and Goy sad that this is the worst song from Ukraine, and I totally agree with them.
