The purple aspect of alien life was revealed to me, back in 1958, when Sheb Wooley released the record, "Flying, Purple People Eater." The rest is history.
Well I saw the thing comin' out of the sky
It had the one long horn, one big eye
I commenced to shakin' and I said "ooh-eee"
It looks like a purple eater to me…
He was the principal in Hoosiers....
A respected scientific tome, to be sure.
Yet another case of a Documentary mistaken for popular entertainment.
@@pirobot668beta they are not mutually exclusive
And the aliens on the other side of the universe are speculating "There are possibly green life and green planets out there"....
No, because complex forms of life like ours are predicated on high-energy metabolisms, you need to go through a Great Oxygenation Event and not be unalived in the process to have complex body plans, brains, etc.
They probably think green is the most unlikely colour XD.
Maybe that safed us so far 😅
It behooves you people to read the UAP Disclosure Amendment Act of 2023
@@EnneaIsInterestedSo can aliens in the other side of the universe lol
They're already here, so....
The purple of retinol is what you see if a bright light is shined into your eyes and you see purple spots after.
i usually see green or white, not purple
@@cayk481i see green and purple/pink
I see white, yellow, green, blue, cyan, purple, magenta/pink and red, not just purple, and it changes where and what color it is over time, like the spot has a color in the middle and then it's surrounded by others in a ring.
@@alexandramilos392 Technically, it's rhodopsin (also known as visual purple) that causes your eyes to 'see' bright spots. This is called photobleaching and corrects itself fully in around 30 minutes or so. Retinol is a vitamin (A1) and rhodopsin is a protein.
If i hold my eyes open and focus on something i see purple halos around whatever I'm focusing on
Purple bacteria can also be visible in a lot salt farms here in Thailand as well, if you have the chance to live around Samut Sakhon & Samut Songkram, during the right time of the year, these places are absolutely beautiful when driving around them ❤
Purple “paradise” planets are pretty common in No Man Sky. Now I know why. Thanks Anton. 👍🏻
I was thinking the same thing! I've always thought looking at purple planets how "unrealistic" and "unique" they were. It's crazy to think they're unintentionally more realistic than we thought!
We been spending most our lives, living in a purple paradise. Basic photosynthesize, living in our purple paradise. We're mini aliens to find, can you see our purple paradise? It's not Earth, but we don't mind, chillin' in our purple paradise. AAAAAHHHHHHHH...

@@illegal_space_aliendamn
No Man's Sky is that colorful, because the devs thought it'd get boring quickly.
There's no way a star could be green or purple, for that matter, and large organisms wouldn't be able to survive with those rudimentary means of energy production that'd turn them purple. In fact, our Sun is pretty much the greenest a star can physically get.
“A Hooloovoo is a super-intelligent shade of the color blue.”

My favourite D.A. bit was learning to fly. "Just throw yourself at the ground and miss..."
Douglas Adams really was a gem - I read just about every book in the "Hitchhiker" series when I was 10 or 11. Had me in stitches. He did absurd, surreal humour very well.
"A suffusion of Yellow"
For years, there has been more evidence supporting the reality of UFOs than there has been for speculative scientific theories about black holes and dark matter. Yet professors and researchers refused to consider that evidence, preferring the safety of more comfortable topics. But like the media, the academic community will quickly forgive itself. Its members will fall over themselves to fund, research, and study the impact of Disclosure. Some careers will shatter like so much broken glass. Others will be made overnight. This will be a new academic gold mine...
Fun part is, purple is not a light emission, there is no frequency of light that represent "purple". It's just a "not green" interpretation of our eyes. Love, thank you for your amazing videos!!
'Purple' is not, but Violet is; as is referenced in the acronym ROYGBIV.
@@Arkie80the violet it refers to is more of a dark blue though, the meaninf of the word has changed. Used to mean the color that violets have, which we now call blue
Any color you could reasonably call purple is composed of red light and blue light. Too much red and blue and you end up with pink; that's why there are no purples that are both deep and bright.
Red and infrared is entirely separate to blue; over on the end opposite to blue and "ultraviolet", with orange, yellow and green in between.
@@roger5059 But there are purple Violets in my yard.

That was an unexpected twist.
Purple. The Color Out of Space. Was first predicted in 1927 by HP Lovecraft. Who would have thought it.
I was just thinking about this
@@lsw4852 lol. They say great old minds think a like.
The color in the book is not even perceivable to humans and in the film it is magenta which is closer to red and pink than it is to purple. So guess you two aren’t such great minds after all.
The Color is "Indescribable"...
But Yeah.. usually shown as a Magenta Pink and Purple...thing?..😅

"One Eyed, One Horned, Flying Purple People Eater"
You have dumb ideas.
@@oleran4569 ah, 1980's nostalgia and my first computer....
This is probably standard in the simpler ecosystems, but rare in the more complex versions. Reasoning, in order for complex life to get started it had to undergo multiple near extinction events to put pressure on collaboration of single cell life to survive. Leading eventually to the cells becoming one life form instead of 2 or more single cell. Those events would put pressure on finding alternative food sources which is why we have green plants.
That's not precisely true. We have no idea how that specifically happened or happens.
@@mikewlazlinski4309 it is a shorthanded version of what is considered the most likely theory for the rise of complex life on earth.
Although Hypothesis is more accurate.
@@loganskiwyse7823I like the exploration of the idea of, what if we hadn't oxidized? With so many planets with even more having different stars from ours, even if those planets did go through extinction events doesn't mean they would develop chloriform (botched that spelling) and therefore would avoid oxidation. 😊
@@laattardo you just supported my point actually. As I never said "green" would be the final color or even the current color.
Just shows that the entire hypothesis of purple is equally false.
@loganskiwyse7823 not quite sure how you can come to such a solid conclusion when we truly have no evidence either way. Just because the only evidence of complex life is what we have here doesn't exclude a different modality for complex life to form.
I never saw a Purple Cow,

This is reminding me of the Purple Alien Gang vs Green Alien Gang trend in GTA Online
@@adamcummings20 I was referring Kermit the Frog from The Muppet Show. I've not played GTA, just ones like Skyrim and, Mount and Blade.
@@stephena1196 I was replying to the main comment
They're grey 👽
A minor technical clarification: there is no "purple light", as such. Our minds interpret red/blue mix as purple. Since the green gets absorbed, we are left with red/blue waves entering our eyes that are subjectively experienced as purple. So, what astronomers would be looking for is not "purple" as such (although it could appear purple if we could have an optical telescope powerful enough to resolve the disc of a planet at interstellar distances). They'd study the spectrum for the proper ratios of red/blue.
Everything you say is intriguing, Anton! 😊
Why does he ignore UAP Disclosure????

Think of Carl Segan's 'Pale Blue Dot' as seen from Voyager. The water and atmosphere.

We don't know if aliens exist or not but they're definitely purple
Purple haired "female" pro palestinian protesters?
We do know. We made an amendment about it. You can Google it and read it. 65-pages. The UAP Disclosure Amendment.
Next question: Can purple planets support multicellular, more complex life?
No.Multicelular complex life can only happen with oxygen, which they do not produce.
@@naamadossantossilva4736 I thought so too at first. But if an oxygen-dominant Earth can still harbor anaerobic life, the inverse can also be true: with pockets of oxygen-rich areas in caves or chambers in a planet dominated by CO2 or other gasses.
It also wouldn't be impossible for single-celled organisms in such a place to have organelles that're absolutely alien to us, creating its own O2. Most life on Earth didn't produce as much energy now before mitochondria came in and set up shop in our own very distant ancestors. Similar relationships could form in alien life attempting to adapt and thrive in a very different environment.
Such life could find ways to come together to create colonies out of differing species or genera, and eventually create multicellular creatures the same way Earth did.
In any case, it'd be _very_ interesting to see what we can learn about them -- once we actually *find* alien life.
so we are the little green men
Earth had a purple phase too, so it makes sense searching for purple planets.
If we can resolve it we can reach it, at least until we start using a star as gravitational lens.
Looking forward meeting the Purple Tentacle ❤

Charles Sheffield mentioned this concept of rhodopsin being prevalent in alien life in his YA novel "Putting Up Roots"
Am I the only one imagining the song "Purple life, purple life!"? ;-)
For some reason it sounds like "purple rain" ;-)
If purple bacteria had a Cambrian Explosion it would be a very different world here.
But how? There would be no free oxygen.
@@klausolekristiansen2960 purple bacteria doesn't need oxygen and neither would their multicellular organisms. They would probably be plant-like.
That explains why purple has always been my favorite color 💜💜💜
From what I've seen in other videos, the reason why green life dominated was because the Earth conditions were really good, so green life, which is more effective, took the lead.
Could we get like a 5 min video on the pink northern lights seen across in North America right now? Why are they pink? Why they even appear? Etc. Love your content Anton ❤

I mean there are quite few plants in my yard that have purplish to red leaves.

What is this, a bot comment? Anton hasn't even acknowledged UAP Disclosure, which is literally the biggest news in human history.
So those old cheesy sci fi B-movies and shows that depicted alien planets as "Vasquez Rocks but with a purple colour filter" might have been on to something? Heck I made a parody skit on my CZcams channel in front of a green screen with Pokemon suits and an Infinity Gauntlet prop with the background just being images of Mars taken by Perseverance put through a bluish colour filter to make everything look purple.
Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction...and sometimes parody fiction turns out to be more true than anyone expected.
Weren't the earlier vegetations reddish purple in the earlier days of our planet?
So basically we are the ailen (green) compared to the ailen (purple) we thought they were ailens...😱😱
All an alien is, is something where it isn't supposed to be. Think illegal alien. So to the outsiders we would be the aliens if we go there. On their own world, they are not alien
Right XD Who would have suspected that if the Little Green Men existed they'd be more likely to come from right here opposed to possibly anywhere else in the known universe (assuming they are a photosynthetic lifeform like I wish humans were, gosh I wish WE were the little green men)
Hey! Ive got another twenty years to build the time machine and FTL drive.

Anton, this isnt new.
I remember back in the year 1958
Sheb Wooley wrote the song, "purple people eater"
as a joke.
The lyrics are:
Well I saw the thing comin' out of the sky
It had the one long horn, and one big eye
I commenced to shakin' and I said "Ooh-eee"
It looks like a purple people eater to me
It was a one-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater
(One-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater)
A one-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater
Sure looks strange to me (one eye?)
Well he came down to earth and he laid in the tree
I said Mr. Purple People Eater, don't eat me
I heard him say in a voice so gruff
"I wouldn't eat you 'cause you're so tough"
It was a one-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater
One-eyed, one-horned flyin' purple people eater
One-eyed, one-horned, flyin' purple people eater
Sure looks strange to me (one horn?)
I said Mr. Purple People Eater, what's your line?
And he said, "Eatin' purple people and it sure is fine"
But that's not the reason that I came to land
"I wanna get a job in a rock and roll band"
Well bless my soul, rock and roll, flyin' purple people eater
Pigeon-toed, undergrowed, flyin' purple people eater
(We wear short shorts)
Friendly little people eater
What a sight to see
And then he swung from the tree and he laid on the ground
And he started to rock, really rockin' around
It was a crazy ditty with a swingin' tune
"Sing a bop-bop aboopa-lopa, loom bam-boom"
Well bless my soul, rock and roll, flyin' purple people eater
Pigeon-toed, undergrowed, flyin' purple people eater
"I like short shorts"
Flyin' purple people eater
Quite a sight to see (purple people?)
Well he went on his way, and then what do ya know
I saw him last night on a TV show
He was blowing it out, a-really knockin' em dead
Playin' rock and roll music through the horn in his head
Brings to mind the writings of Homer where references are often made to to the “wine red sea”. Always puzzled me, perhaps some wonderful person out there can explain.
"Purple haze, all in my brain
Lately things they don't seem the same

Heaven help me I don’t know why?
I kind of love the idea of encountering sapient alien life and have all of them loose their minds upon finding out our plants are green and we breath oxygen
Well photosynthetic life.
Why would I watch news when this guy is out here like 'Aliens are probably purple!' and I trust that headline implicitly.
Well, alien plants maybe... As for any animals, that's a lot less certain... I mean there aren't any green animals on earth getting their energy from the sun (with the exception of some symbiotic invertebrates)
Read the UAP Disclosure Amendment. Alien life is here on Earth already, and it's being covered up!
In short it'd only be possible if:
- The planet only had the most basic of life forms on it
- It had no oxygen (third most common element in the universe) or
- Had ridiculous amounts of salt (composed of no. 15 and no. 23 most abundant elements in the universe)
So... it's statistically impossible for a planet to be purple. At least one that'd be of any relevance to us.
"Purple is the new green"
-Anton Petrow, 2024.
We only have one example of a planet with life on and it's probably foolish to speculate about life on other planets on that basis. Purple was replaced on Earth by the more efficient chlorophyll, but alien evolution might have come up with entirely different pigment molecules for photosynthesis. We don't know what "solutions" and possibilities earthbound evolution has failed to find.
I'm sure Jason Jones at Bungie is happy to hear this.
A certain Jason Jones of late Bungie Studios would love to hear this.
I would wager that many of the icy worlds we are finding are in the intermediate stage - frozen over for hundreds of millions of years. As such, aside from the terrible temperatures, they may actually be quite decent for eventual colonization as there would be little to no advanced life present - just endless miles of frozen ground and single celled organisms.
L. Ron Hubbard was right when he described planet Psychlo in his novel Battlefield earth.
What are the odds?
