I drank a whole 6 pack and ate two large bags of chips while watching this epic video. Best Saturday night ever!
have you read Layer Cake?
Textbook 👍
This guy is a fucking maestro , unreal skill , knowledge and ability.
"You can't comfortably fart in here, let alone store parts." This made me chuckle a lot
One assumes his farting is mostly uncomfortable, while working in his garage.
My ears must be shot. I listened “You can't comfortably party in here…”
The "Hans and Knock" sketch absolutely got me. I have never seen such an accurate portrayal of BMW engineers in my entire life.
As a BMW technician, this guy makes me laugh every video. Great content man. This guy is legit.
Please do you have an Idea why the rod and main bearings wear so quickly on the N57d30a engine as well? I went trough 3 engines in 6 months for my 2012 F10. I finally sold my car at a considerable lose as the 3rd engine also died. Is the B57 any better?
@@abdbach379 i thought BMW diesels were supposed to be more reliable than their petrol ones
@@adriananzano2292 Thought so too... found out the reality the hard way. I'm still paying debts for a car that I don't own anymore (And drove for a a total of 3 days). Luckily found a "cheap" first hand Mercedes C350 cdi with the OM642 V6 engine that's infinitely more reliable than the garbage BMW makes these days.
@@abdbach379 sorry to be harsh but you should not buy a car unless you can afford it. I wonder still why people buy cars on loan and when something happens they just pay for something they don't have. Sorry to hear your story though!
@@yassinesoufy1988 Totally Agree with you. My actual piece of advice to people is never buy a car if you cannot afford double its price.
Knowing this, I bought the car for about 16000 Euro, the first engine replacement cost me over 7000 Euro (5500Euro for the engine + new BMW oil pump 720 Euros, oil cooler 150 Euro, oil, filters, labor...). The second engine cost me around 5000 Euro (3500 Euro for a new 0km block, new oil cooler, oil, filter and labor). The third attempt was with another used block (gifted from the store for buying over 10000 Euro of BMW crap) the crankshaft was polished and new main and rod bearings from King were used. the last attempt cost about 2500 Euro. After all this drama it still failed. If It worked I would have kept the car.
As you can see I could afford the car and even its costly maintenance but after spending ever the car's worth of money I couldn't try to repair it anymore. I mean it immediately failed after 3 replacements, you'd lose hope too.
You've really outdone yourself with this one, congratulations!!!
See, people, this is why you don't go "WHEN video????". Imagine the poor fella going home after the oil pump + vanos pump disaster and all he sees are those comments...
Absolutely died at the Hans sketch, love the combination of humour and technical expertise on this channel! Great work Sreten.
This was way too funny haha.
indeed - couldn‘t stop laughing!
Great to hear 🤣
Pure gold! :D
Obviously you still didn't adopt to German society :D
Wow this channel rocks! Great video!
Thanks, Alex!!
Wow. When my 2 favourite youtubers actually meet each other.
In my opinion, you two, are the CZcams Gods of Mercedes and BMW content. Thank you for the best content about these topics.🙏🏻
@@wheresfuninthat same for me 🍻
Now there is someone who knows good content ! I love both of these channels
Sreten, Im not sure what it is but I could watch you work all day long. Hell I’m pretty sure I could watch you do anything, amazing video!
Cheers, guys! Thank you!

100% most indepth car repair channel on CZcams, i love it
This car was good now is absolutely great.. And since he did a lap on the Nurburgring with (old 7 Dubai) maybe a new lap in this M5 V10 would be nice.. right ? ;0)
"This looked easy... IT'S NOT... EASY." Pretty much the theme of this channel.
Playing with cars is anything but...
@@Syncopia playing with bmw is the worst hahah
What scares the shitt out of me is remembering what goes back and when!!
Have you ever forgot to put something back and then had to dismantle again??
You’re a rare class act sir!! 👍🇬🇧
You are so endearing, what a guy with a meticulous approach to repair. I am a professional technician but your methodology I admit is more precise and caring than I am. I also get the sense that 'maybe it's better to just own a Toyota' but then again an E60 M5 is a special majestic beast with special needs, so there is still balance in this universe after all.
140,000 miles on a Toyota is a major maintenance interval - Change the oil AND the air filter. I don't own a BMW and probably won't but I love these videos.
This is like when a New episode of your favourite TV show is out but you know yourself you Will be so sad after watching it because than there is emptiness on CZcams..😰
Lol. Too true
Love the “ POPS” ... now we have Torque wrench “CLICKS” and Pops!!
55:07 "Used clean Carbon Fiber towels" Damn.. M5E39 just doing things differently and taking cleaning to a whole new level 😲
The amount of calmness and focus here is unbelievable. Im freaking out just watching this
This is the only channel I follow religiously. Making an hour go by in an instant.
How does he have only 198k subs? This guy deserves 10 million... Let’s help him get there so he can upload more videos and finance his projects. This guy does a great way of integrating humor and his work. He deserves more
By far one of the best automotive channels around. I hope he keeps his style and sense of humor, he just goes straight to the point with no bullshit, as many others tend to do.
Rewatching this video for the 3rd or 4th time. Why? Am I rebuilding a v10 M5 engine..no. Do I even own a v10 M5…no. However, the workmanship in this video is top notch. Beyond informative and just plain fun to watch. You, Sreten, are amazing. Thank you for the content. LOVE. IT. ALL.
Proof you are a true mechanic, stupid quick connect!!!! Love it.
Me: *Sees this video in the suggestions*
My brain: "Deploy the special click for the long-awaited Friday evening M539 video"
*Gets M359 notification*: "Woohoo!"
*Sees it's over an hour long*: "Woman, I'm gonna be a while. Please do not interrupt" 😆
Yep, just like dat!
Same here
I constructed a whole new bong just for this
yeaahhh same feel 🖤 ❤️
I've never watched a video of car repair for an hour or more , As a person stated: I wish you were available
in the states. Congrats my man !!
"That is a quick disconnect....which means it won't be...". Hilarious few minutes of video that brings back horrific memories. This is the best page on CZcams.
"Grab the essensials! German takes susages from the toolrack. "Weltklasse!" As the germans would say

Probably the most anticipated video after he showed us the start of Project Raleigh
That is what i call craftmanship at its best. Came up here and took 1:16:00 best entertainment on Sunday afternoon . Hope you will go up to 1Mio and more subscribers. You are worth it. Hallo from a german BMW driver
You're the only youtuber where I turn off my adblocker to watch your videos and wait until every single add has finished

I’m so glad that I found this channel and even more to see that all this kind of “magic” stuff is happening in a small garage nearby👏
Enjoyed all 1 hr 15 mins+ of this masterpiece. Thanks again Sreten for the hard work!
Im asking myself why would someone dislike a high quality mechanic who's even explaining how to remove and put parts back to together
How is this so addictive and therapeutic to watch?
dont you love it how passionate he is fixing the car? love the m5.
"Coming up...." - the perfect end to the week 👍👏😂
Who needs Netflix when you have Sreten?! Another brilliant video.
This masterpiece deserves a Oscar
I am watching this video for fifth time, still enjoying every second!
This channel is on its way to a million + subscribers for sure. Amazing precision and I’m always amazed about how you’re able to not misplace parts you remove!
Likewise. I'd be losing bits every 30 seconds.....
Now I can definitely make time to watch a video from someone who has bought a 6spd E60 M5! Even more so, when you're tackling the rod bearing issue yourself. You're a legend, Sreten!
“ Maybe I need to disassemble entire car now”😂😂😂😂Man this is the best
I like your sound quality. Something very ASMR like to the snap! A bolt makes when it breaks loose.
This mans garage is like heaven to cars, everything that is ****ed gets changed, properly done, lubed ;) etc...
Awesome job, love these videos, keep it up!
Everything he takes off gets changed 😬 Joking ofc, I love the fact he doesn't cheap out on parts and gets oem ones.
man, i logged in from two accounts on youtube just to like it twice.
Good man!
Perhaps the luckiest E60 M5 in the world getting all the love and care !
Wow Sreten, you really know your stuff, You fascinate me that you just remove this that and the other and put it all back without referances and without forgetting anything or where it goes, absolutely astonishing. I would be photographing everything. I changed the conrod bearings from the bottom of the engine in the same way on a 1974 Triumph Spitfire which was nowhere near as complex. I can honestly say that I could watch you work all day and night. Great video, great skills done by a great person. Thank you Sreten for showing us how to do the job properly.
This guy operates like a surgeon. That paper towel and gloves segment is impressive. It may look like nothing but it shows you a lot about the character of the person. What usually happens with people is: they may know what needs to be done, but eventually laziness takes over, which turns into sloppiness and cutting corners "lets reuse this paper, we can get away with not changing gloves". After several bearings are done. "You don't have to be so careful, let's just do it quicker". All of that manifests into an eventual mistake. I'm sure Sreten is as lazy as any other normal person, yet he still does not let it take over and drop standards, and that is the hard part. A person like that is exactly who you need for mission critical jobs which require high attention to details and adherence to correct procedures.
So true !!
Well you just described 50% of Germans and 0.5% of Greeks or Italians.
Is it the upbringing that shapes n modes the Gs personalities to act in that same manners.. Anyway it's amazing

Dude, with an attitude, content quality and humour like this you will get your "bigger garage" in no time. I'm looking forward for more of your videos since I subscribed. There are not many more quite as interesting car channels as yours. Cheers from Poland!
I am most impressed with your command of English; technical, conversational, and colloquial. That, combined with your skills, makes the videos you produce top class.

Hey man I watched this 1 hour long video non stop, its just so good.
55:08 and yet again with the Carbon Fiber towels. You should really make a t-shirt that says that.
I know right ! LOL!
The moment when you watch it on patreon and still can’t wait to see it again on CZcams 😂🥳
You, Jamies Cars And Legit street cars are my new 3 favourite engine building channels. I used to watch Papadakis racing alot too. Im a mechanic myself but this is still mesmerising to watch. Great work. 🤩
Great work 💪I didn't think I could watch the whole episode, just wanted some 5min highlights, but I found myself glued to my phone watching your every step!! Gives me more insight and confidence working on my E60 M5 (6 speed) 👍
55:08 where can you get these carbon fibre towels? Asking for a friend.
Waiting for them too. It happens!! Keep the good work.
They're even better than microfibre towels. And they weigh less too! 😂
That's twice he's said that 😄
Carbon fibre towel novelty t-shirt when?
He’s a smart guy, he’s probably waiting for someone to brand it, or make merch with it
I hope Streten puts a link in the description on next video upload ! I can’t seem to find them in inventory on auto parts stores anywhere.
My heart missed a beat when you lent into a running uncovered engine with your dangling hoodie string
I saw that too. If you've seen it catch the belt you never forget.
It's fine, fellas. Only the crank pulley was turning and that's at the very bottom.
@@M539Restorations I knew you would know exactly what you were doing. Great job on the video.
Yeah, people with long hair have been scalped. It is like a gun: none are empty even if you know they are.
That would be an actual example of a BMW engine biting the hand that's feeding it.
Perfect mechanics, perfect sketch (great Hans), and perfect Portuguese accent "Bomba de água"! You're the entire package, keep on with these great videos.
I love your perfection and attention to detail. Yes, and cleaning before removing, tying things up, covering openings, clean surfaces etc. You only have to work once with a shortcut mechanic to experience the frustration.
Never skipped a single second, this was an amazing video to watch. Thank you so much for your content as you are helping and fostering a new generation of mechanics!
I watched the video second for second, you are a film-making genius! I loved the jokes along with the very well documented process. I am also very surprised about how well you did such an intimidating and difficult job along with filming every part of it. You're my absolute #1 Channel on CZcams and I'm very glad I found it! Great work, my friend :)
The luckiest man on the planet - :-) - restoring the greatest cars and engines and afterwards driving full throttle on the autobaaaaahn - YES - great work by the way.
50:40 heat from your car's exhaust would have thawed that frozen latch. BUT watching you kick it into submission was indeed a heck of a lot more entertaining.
Right lol that noise he made from holding that freezing pipe 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Not many people can pull of an hour and fifteen minute youtube video. Very, very strong work. Congrats.
And still get over a million views..... hands down to SRETEN's talent and his way of presenting such a work.
And just like that over an hour went past in a second...quality time, quality time.👍
This is by far the best DIY video I’ve seen. Love the BMW reenactment on the oil pan 😂 !

You're saying everything a BMW mechanic thinks ....but would never say!
😆👍🇭🇲
I can´t wrap my head around the fact that the seperations of the rods and caps aren´t just flat surfaces, but "cracks". that´s crazy
BMW uses this method since the introduction of the V8 engines in the E32, if my memory serves me well :-)
Sreten, this was the best installment yet! I cannot even imagine the number of hours it took, but you condensed it down into a true narrative that was easy and fun to follow. I love how you are saving these "orphans"!
The amount of work you did in this video is insane! Great work on a great car
If I lived in Germany near you I never would have sold my E63 M6 out of fear of expensive repairs.
That scream of pain while opening the door was worth watching the whole 1+ hour video...along with the technical stuff of course.,
