Great review! Found your review after the fact I bought this exact same cooler from Academy a few minutes ago. Good to hear the strong recommendation! Bought it for an overlanding trip out in the Ozarks this coming weekend. I live in Fort Worth so from one Texan to another fellow Texan, thanks!!! Safe travels!
@@DirtwalkerOutdoors Touché. Kudos on the very comprehensive review. Not many people test how long a cooler can hold a cat. Very thorough. Based on this review I will be picking up the 72 qt version for cat storage.
BMX 52 spout backed itself out and water leaked all over the SUV cargo area. No gasket either. I think I am going to get a Lifetime cooler or RTIC ultralight. Lifetime is under $100 from what I've found.
I'm in Midland Texas and I know you're familiar with the heat what part of wtx are you from I'll keep it in the back of my pickup truck think my ice will last
I can see using a high end cooler if you're on a boat or car camping for 3+ days with NO access to a store... but you know they sell ice at stores right? My $16 cooler may only keep ice for 1-2 days, but in that time I'll go to a store and get fresh ice. Ice is cheap. These coolers are expensive. We all know that it's fun to spend money. Most people use their cooler less than 6 times a year. At least it's not as stupid expensive Yeti. Thanks for the review.
If you're taking a trip to say, Big Bend National Park, or some national forests, ice can be hours away. So, leaving your camp to drive a few hours just to buy ice isn't all that fun.
When it's a 100 degree day in Texas and you leave a cooler in your truck for a day hike or short stops, cheap coolers just won't get it done. Picking one up at academy today and having a weekend out at Copper Breaks State park with a projected temp of 107 this Saturday. Ill let yell know how it goes.
Good honest review. People need to know they dont have to spend a lot of money to get into Overlanding
Thanks much sir! I agree completely.
Broke the hinges on mine , anyone know where I can get hinges
@@kevinellsworth9318 Did you try the igloo website? www.igloocoolers.com/collections/replacement-parts
You help me make my decision after looking at many reviews. Igloo BMX 52 it is. Thank you

You're most welcome! I'm still very happy with mine and use it every week. I may even buy another.

You're much welcome
Thank you for your review!! Getting my chest today!!
My pleasure
ima pick one of these up tomorrow, im a truck driver so keeping ice as long as i can without breaking the wallet is important thanks for this!
For the price it is definitely a good choice. I'm glad to be of help!
Might be cheaper in the long run to get a small fridge.
Thanx for the review, found it very helpful
You're most welcome. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the review; I just bought the same cooler.
You're most welcome. I may buy a second one.
What I wanted to know is it at least heavy duty is it a molded cooler as well
That's one pissed off cat there haha
Great video and thank you for posting
Seriously, what the hell is going on with that cat? Is the cat in the cooler??
@@Sodchucker hahaha

I'm in Abilene and very familiar with Midland. All I can say is it beats the Ozark Trail yeti clone.
nice
25f is warm for Michigan for February average temp is 10f and it and get in the negatives.
Dude, I plan to try out some of that ice fishing up there. My daughter was just up there ice fishing for a week and didn't take me!
@@DirtwalkerOutdoors Right now it's not too bad mid 30s we got snow and freezing rain a few days ago that was a Bitch.
Sounds like the racoons are fighting the cat @1:20
That would’ve been cooler.
Is rotomolded
No
Bought one lucky to hold ice for a day
Same, totally disappointed with it
I did not have that experience.

That's what I'm saying. Most people also do not recognize that quality of ice plays a part. I'm on call for HVAC this weekend. Lol
@@stanga281 how’d it go
5 minutes of blah blah blah, and no real review ☹️
