  • We test out the Igloo BMX 52 cooler (52 quart) in tank green and orange on a four-day camping trip in 95-degree plus weather in the middle of July. We use minimal ice and pack it full of food to test it to its limits.

I have two of these coolers. I bought a self adhesive 5/16 weather seal strip that fits perfect on the lid for a tight seal.

Awesome review. can’t wait for more videos. Been looking for a good budget option since I don’t camp much. This will fit my family’s needs perfectly.

I freeze 1 litre plastic milk jugs. Two of those in the cooler. Still solid 4 days later.
Solid ice blocks are way better than crushed ice

THANK YOU for actually showing what a loadout looks like in this thing... seen so many other reviews that don't even bother to give a good idea of how much you can pack in it.

You're welcome! Just used mine for keeping three twelve packs of beer cold. I put one 10lb bag of ice in it and the ice lasted three days. The temp was a constant 70 degrees since it was inside the house. The beer was room temp when I put in the cooler.

@@adventuresinthesouth That's fantastic, thanks for the feedback! Definitely going to be adding this cooler to my next camp trip.

install rubber weather stripping in the groove on the lid and you'll enjoy 4-5 days of ice retention.

Pre cool the cooler w ice or whatever u want overnight the night before & then put all your stuff in. Makes a big difference w retention. I just got mine for $79.99 & super pumped!

Sounds like it competes very well with Yeti for 1/3 the price!

Yes, it did well with the very warm temperatures and minimal ice. Definitely a good buy!

I hear putting weatherstrip in it makes the ice last a lot longer Home Depot sells the weatherstrip a few videos on it

Just ordered one for $99, sounds like it would fair well in normal camping temps based on your experience 🤔

Just looked on bass pro and they are up to $175. Used to be $85 2 years ago.

Yeah, the prices jump around some. Amazon had the green one for a reduced price for a few days and raised it back up.

The Igloo site is usually 119-149 range. Currently 149. I would imagine with Christmas on the horizon, there could be some deals.

You lost a day or two of cooling because you put cold food in a warm cooler. You cold food melted until it cooled your cooler. Duh right?
