I always find your videos full of great information, and I did indeed learn something from this one as well. I was not aware of buying baskets for coolers, and honestly never gave it much thought. I just used the cooler as is. After watching this video, I searched on Amazon and did find a basket made for my cooler, so that will come in handy for my packing needs and keep things out of the wet areas. So, thank you again for some great advice.
Thanks for the note Christopher. It makes me happy to hear that my videos are helpful. Take care.
That certainly looks to be a great cooler Frazier.
I was hoping it would retain ice longer but 3 days is fine. It will take time to adjust to those T latches and handles but I really like the large basket and flat bottom. Thanks mrbr for your continued support. Hope all is well in your life.
I’ve seen people change the seal with an $8 seal from Home Depot and the ice last longer I might do that
Facts are facts you did a great job showing them and explaining them 👏 👍! Great video!
Thanks Ron. Hope you are doing well.
I just found your channel and subscribed. This is the first video I've watched, the cooler comparison. I found it very informative and interesting. I'm looking forward to checking out your other videos.
Thanks for the note Linda. Hope to hear from you again.
Nice review. Cannot wait for spring camping!
Thanks Michael. I’m with you. Hope to take a few more trips. Take care.
I've been using a Coleman Xtreme 50 qt. for the past 4 summers. It's the square one with wheels and a telescopic handle. I've been happy with it so far but lately have been considering going to the igloo. Like you I'm in north Alabama (Guntersville) and often times find myself in mid to upper 90 degree temperatures. Thanks for sharing your experiences with the various aspects of the tent camping life.
Hey neighbor Wayne. We live just outside Huntsville. Where do you usually camp? We’ve camped at Guntersville SP but I’ve never made a video about it. Have you been over to Cloudland Canyon? I like the Igloo but the T latches and handles will require a little adjustment.Hanks for the note. Stay in touch.
@@moderntentcamping I've camped at the state park on several occasions. I like the Coleman lake campground inside the choccolocco WMA also the one at DeKalb county public fishing lake. I haven't been to cloudland but have wanted to give it a try.
@@wayneautwell4255 Where is the Coleman campground? I’ve never heard about it.
@@moderntentcamping It's inside the Choccolocco wildlife management area. There's 2 loops with water/electric hook up shower houses and a primitive loop.
It's south of Piedmont and east of Jacksonville Al
In my opinion the Igloo looks to be more durable than the Coleman, but the points you made are great points. I hope this is the one, coolers aren't cheap these days. Thank you for sharing. Take care Frazier D. Friend... 🇺🇲
I think this will be our last cooler. I’m looking forward to taking it on a trip. Thanks Jason for the comment. Hope all is going well for you.
Great video. We enjoy your videos. Would like to find an affordable cooler that keeps ice for 3+ days. With the drain plug do you recommend draining water every day or keeping some water on the bottom to keep items cooler inside?
Keep the cold water. Can drinks are fine but keep perishable food out of it. If you drain the water, you’ll have to buy more ice. With this cooler one $5 bag of ice keeps contents cold for 3 days. Drain water after returning home to make it easier to carry the cooler into your house. Thanks for watching and posting this question. Take care.
I have a cooler that is a 45 liter (11 Gallon) Coleman cooler..
but recently , I've been looking into getting an *Electric plug in Cooler* ,
to go with my solar powered Jackery power station.
Kool Kaddy P75 Thermoelectric Iceless 12V Cooler Warmer, 34L / (10 Gallon) Portable Ice Chest Made in North America, is in my sights. $170 cad
Here in Northern Ontario Canada, those 49 liter (13 Gallon) Igloo Coolers , go for $175 cad.
What size Jackery do you have? How do you like it?
@@moderntentcamping I have a Jackery 300 and pro 2000 they are both amazing and very well made/ durable.
That sounds like a good set up. I’d like to get a solar charger. Maybe some day.
Where did you find the basket for the Igloo BMX cooler?
It is a Yetti basket that fits the 45 & 65. It’s very good. Thanks for watching.
@@moderntentcamping Thanks! I wish I could find it. There's a Yeti basket for the Tundra 35/45, and a different one for the Tundra 65. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong model, but I don't see any other Yeti wire baskets.
I’m sorry Mike but I gave you the wrong info. Look for the basket for a Yetti Tundra 50/65. Go to Amazon Page for igloo bmx 52 and then scroll down just a little and you should see it. Hope this helps. It’s a great addition. I think you’ll be very happy.
@@moderntentcamping Thanks again! I saw that listing, but the reviews say that it doesn't actually fit and falls off the inside rail of the cooler. It would be super useful to have a basket for certain items that need to be chilled, but not soaked in ice (or whatever else is floating around in there, LOL)
@@mikeblaszczak5346 I don’t know why they said that? It fits my bmx 52 very snuggly.
If you love Coleman that much why did you purchase the Igloo? All you did is criticize Igloo!
Sorry it sounded that way. I like the Igloo and use it for every trip. I especially like the flat bottom and vertical side walls and the larger dry food storage basket.
I can't find that basket for igloo 52 bmx
Check dimensions of the Yetti basket for Tundra 50 &65. I think that is what I bought. Shout fit perfectly. Thanks for watching.
@@moderntentcamping thank you.
