  • Train sim world 3 is here! In this video we take a look at the class 66 diesel freight locomotive on the southeastern high speed extended route. We will be driving between Hoo Junction and Dartford.
I am a freight train driver in real life and driving a train and a route that I sign in real life, I've got no excuses for poor driving!

I know this is a SIM but I also know you do this in real life but it goes to show how much economically friendlier the railway is & has become from what it used to be when it comes to working out when it's best to use power & conserve it 😁

@@DadRail I don't like tsw 2 or 3. They changed the physics of the game. They made engines accelerate much slower. And also the brakes have been seriously weakened. I also don't like that there is no longer the free roam camera that could be positioned anywhere in the map and was not tied to the train. I used that camera a lot in the original tws. Overall they have seriously downgraded the game. And it really upsets me so I no longer will play tsw. But anyways I'm just curious do you notice these changes? If you don't please go back and replay the first tsw. Get in a loco and throw it notch 8. See how fast of a speed you can get. And then see how quickly you can bring the engine to a stop. The engines have been seriously nerfed

      @DadRail  Před rokem +18

@@cjsnidlio9409 thanks for your comment. Personally I feel that the changes in the physics have made the game much more realistic. If anything the brakes on the 66 are still too sharp. I think TSW was more of an arcade game rather than a semi accurate simulator. I get that the changes don’t appeal to everybody. I guess it’s personal choice at the end of the day. Afaik free cam is still a thing. Press number 8 on the keypad

Cool simator, I used to drive the Class 66 myself and it was my favorite locomotive, it's strong and ridgid and a real cargo locomotive.
I also like the way to see that the instruments are different in the Netherlands, the throttle for example is on the left hand side and the train brake is on the right, also the isolator and direction switches are on the righthand and more within reach, the latest difference is the introdution of the ERTMS system on board, and the display is placed in the middle where the spedometer used to be.
I reconise the overhead display as well! I used to put the train speed and power on the display, rather than looking at the gauges all the time.

I regularly see 66s pulling through Lincoln station. They are by far my favourite locos for sound - when I stand on the university bridge and one throttles up to pull away, the exhaust pulses and whine of the dog-clutch turbocharger literally shake your organs. Absolutely love these.

Great video! I had high hopes for this revamped 66, and from what I've seen its even better than I was hoping for! I think this looks like the best 66 in any train sim for now.
    Some nerdy observations:
    1. Train length counter operation is more realistic than the AP 66 in train sim classic
    2. You can hear air going into the loco brake cylinders when the brakes are applying, making a subtle squeak sound. This is also not present on the AP 66

    • @DadRail

On some trains you have to press like 3 or 4 times until you can look out because it first zooms into some screens and at the last step you look out the window of the pressed arrow direction. Look as it build the detail on the rail/sleepers 15ft in front of the train. Just like it did in TSW, oh and TSW2 and now TSW3. I'll be keeping well clear of this franchise. Unless the drop there DLC prices on XBOX to less than at least 40% of current asking price.

Maybe worth waiting for the sales, you can pick up the game and DLCs sometimes for very little.

Record in 720p, and you will get alot better performance, aaaaand you will save time on upload because of thesmaller file size ✌️

To be fair, I always record and stream in 1080. Never really have much of a problem with performance and upload speeds. I see what you are saying though.

DBC/EWS class 66 can be run at 8.2kA all day long no need to reduce traction current, the auto coupler is in the extended position on the lead end and it should be stowed when moving, no GSM-R fitted to the sim, the cab windows open and close very smoothly (the real one are f********), and the cab is clean, DBC/EWS cabs are dirty as hell, middle position of direction controller is “engine only” not neutral, typical GBRf driver “make sure you have your hard hat as the sky might fall in”………..give us a wave next time you are in the Western gimp boy.

DTG should have released patches to updated TSW1 to TSW2 and to TSW3. It's the same thing as TS. Same game, tiny improvements => $$$$$$. I will not buy anything from them again to be honest.

If Dovetail Games keeps on following this game-developing line they're gonna crash. This is the same as TSW 2. Most of train cab buttons and switches are blocked giving a 'fake' driving experience. AWS don't do shit making you to depend on HUD. I've never been warned of a red signal through AWS in any TSW edition.
So... They puke a very weak base game and then they prentend to sell you thousands of dollars in DLC's based on a shitty base.

-- Graphics is lackluster - have you heard of Unreal Engine 5?
