- In this video, we look at some of my favorite dress watches on the entire market, Jaeger‑LeCoultre Master Collection. Despite my love for the Reverso, I can't help but be drawn to this collection of Ultra Thins and hope to give them more of the spotlight going forward.
A big thank you to JLC for sending these watches to me for the review!

The ultrathin moonphase JLC is something of exquisite beauty!
One of my favorite dress watches period!
Jaeger leCoultre is top of the top, for me, they are by far the best, and the price is a fair price, there are other's with higher prices that don't do what this guy's do.
Ooh, some JLC love? You're getting fancy Teddy! Keep it commin. I Love JLC!
There's a reason why JLC is known as the watchmakers' watchmaker
The ultra thin perpetual is my grail, Jesus Christ it's so beautiful
So easy to wear and set too. Perfect sizing as well
Agreed.
Lukas Schlegel Mine too
Such a lovely timepiece
Lukas Schlegel watchdreamer.com... there you have your grail watch
Wow these are gorgeous. Moon phase is unreal. Outstanding quality of review @ Teddy!!
Anyone can make a thick mechanical watch, but it's the master watchmaker whose skills are tested by such an endeavor as achieved here so elegantly by Jaeger-LeCoultre.
I’ve owned JLC and love their products. A big thanks for giving them the attention they richly deserve.
Thanks for the video Teddy. I'm a big fan of JLC and agree that the Matter Ultra Thin line is one of their best.
I appreciate the symmetry of the MUT Moon and is a deservedly popular watch. However, the two that I would have are the blue dial Réserve de Marche (from 2027?) and the Matter Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar. The Z Perpetual being my grail most likely.
Thanks again - well considered and produced review. Love to see now JLC in your videos.
JLC Master Ultra Thin Perpetual is my dream watch. Thank you for the review.
Awesome video! The moon phase is beautiful!
Love JLC. Own several. Great presentation, keep them coming
I love every watch in the ultra thin collection. I actually picked up a Reserve de Marche with a blue dial today. It is one of the most beautiful watches I have ever seen in person! Great review as always!
Nice video mate. JLCs are outstanding.
Great review as always of some great dress watches. Another good option to look at is the Master Calendar: It has a less busy dial with a full year calendar and moonphase, but it's not a part of their ultra thin line.
Although not represented here, my absolute favorite from JLC is the Geophysic 1958 limited edition. Simply perfection!
For sure my preferred collection from JLC. All these models are so beautiful.
Great vid!, love the moon, awesome info on Kurt Klaus.
Beautiful watches, I absolutely love JLC. If I collected Swiss watches, I would have an Omega Seamaster and Speedmaster as well as JLC Reverso and Master Ultra Thin 😍
Excellent video, Teddy. The partnership with Bob's Watches has paid major dividends for your viewers, but I think has also served to highlight your skill in presenting these amazing pieces. Please keep the great content coming.
I just bought my first JLC last week - a Reverso Classic Medium Small Seconds on the brown Fagliano strap. After owning several brands over the last 13 years, primarily Omega and Rolex, I'm wondering why I never looked at JLC before. They always had the "it" factor for me but just never had it on my list of next purchases. I sold my Submariner 114060 and put some of the proceeds towards this Reverso. In just a week of ownership, I've been more impressed by the post-sale service from JLC than I've ever received by Rolex or Omega. JLC's Client Care advisors are extremely helpful, the email communication JLC sends you as an owner really makes you feel proud about your purchase.
My next watch will be the JLC Ultra Thin Moon for sure.
All amazing watches. I would add the Master Triple Calendar to this particular group. It's also very think and is a balanced alternative to both the Thin Moon and the Perpetual Calendar.
Ooph the ultra thin moon in gold is just perfection...
Ultra Thin Moonphase in white gold is my grail dress watch. LOVE IT
MAN I'm loving all of the posts with luxury pieces that you can get access to now. I don't like the cheap ones, so this is great! Keep it up, you're making such good videos! 😃
I enjoy these too. Still like the affordable stuff but I think there is another layer to the watches of this tier that gives me a more compelling story to tell.
@@TeddyBaldassarre suppose there's something for everyone now.
Have always wanted a JLC and thought is would be a reverso but the Master Ultras are just so pretty!
This video makes me so happy!
Teddy, you lucky SOB! That perpetual is the centerpiece of my three-watch grail set (the others being a Zenith chrono and a Blancpain diver). I'm afraid I have to wait until the kids are through college to pursue this beauty, however, so am terribly jealous you got to spend time with it.
I just had pink gold JLC ,first dress watch also my first moon phase
I love the Ultra Thin Moonphase with the dark dial. That's one of my grails for sure.
Great review as always, Teddy, and one of the reasons I recently picked up a pre-owned rose gold MUT Moon Phase. I believe this watch's power reserve to be 43 hours, not 38. The newest release of this model now has a power reserve of 70 hours. Not worth paying full retail for at $21K imho but it's a nice upgrade.
My only criticism is that the date ring is illegible, but I knew that going in. The numerals are so small I don't even really see them so it's not a distraction. If I wanted to be able to read the date, I would have bought a Lange or G.O., lol.
Keep up the great work. I enjoy all your videos.
JLC is just pure art
JLC is freaking amazing!
Agreed Justin haha. One of my favorite brands no question.
100k subscribers?Congrats ....It must be hard to churn out quality content
JLC are the best of the best❗️❗️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻
A master ultra thin moon with black dial is on my list. Beautiful watch from a great collection.
Hard to pick my favorite dial variant. I think I would go silver but tough choice
Amazing that the perpetual calendar is so thin considering it has so many complications.
Got my Jaeger lecoultre reserve de marche about a month ago and it’s such a beauty. My first mechanical watch but not the last.
Hey Teddy, I have to say we share an admiration for JLC and particularly the Ultra Thin Moon Phase...simply exquisite! That said, I wondered if you have looked at the Montblanc Chromometerie line as an affordable alternative. I tried the automatic version and was disappointed with the rotor noise and returned it and never went back. Seems as though the manual wind would be the way to go. Got mine for around $1,500 new on Joma. BTW I had no problems with my return or their service in general. Thoughts on the Montblanc Chronometerie range?
The master moon is my favorite, especially the un attainable master moon enamel.
Lovely appearance. One of the top luxury dress watch choices.
I recently purchased an IWC Portuguese Automatic after years of collecting desk divers. I love my sport pieces (particularly my Batman)...but I think I caught the “dress watch” bug. My next will likely be either a GO Panomaticlunar or JLC Master Perpetual (also love the Duometre).
I don't think you ever photographed how thin the watches are. You talked a lot about it, but you never turn them sideways. It's always dead on the dial, or the caseback.
True that!
Smashing video, Teddy. Few watchmakers do dress watches as well as JLC. Thoughts on a MUT on a 8.25" wrist?
The Ultra Thin Moon is also my favorite JLC.
Bought Reverso for my wife and fell in love with the Perpetual. But thanx to this video, I am looking at the Moonphase.
I own the JLC Master Ultra Thin Moonphase. One of the most stunning dress watch in my opinion...love it! The only dress watch I find more attractive is the Lange 1. Maybe someday....
Thumbs up for the word dichotomy being used. Good videos, sir. Keep them coming.
The Moon Phase is THE dress watch.
If you're a child
ultrathin moon is my new goal...what a beauty!!
many thanks for creating this great video. please do a review on jlc master geographic! it is my favourite watch
Ultra thin moon is my favourite and perpetual calendar 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I started with an seiko skx013, then I bought an omega speedmaster reduced and my next watch should be a master control ultra thin date... I can't wait till I saved enough money for this beauty!
Thank you for this great video!
I love the moon phase , perfect size ! I am a fan VC Patrimony Traditionnel but the JLC has better price point !
Our Teddy is a big guy now!
Hey, Teddy, I admire watches with beautiful backgrounds or serene sketches and gorgeous gadgetry. Of course, these can be either inexpensive glitzy quartz models or very expensive super elites that sell for a million bucks. But are there automatic watches lovely to look at (with more than fingernail polish) somewhere near the price range you've discussed today (like the JLC Geophysic worldtime)?
Good reviews of the JLC ultra-thin line -- a rarer ultra-thin JLC is the ref 120679 -- the JLC Master Ultra Thin 1907. Comes in platinum or gold and is one of the thinnest and most elegant watches in the world -- it is 40mm and only 4mm thin! Only two hands and no other complications, but nevertheless must be assembled in their "grand complications" division due to the thinness. I have it in platinum and it is UNREAL!
Love the white moonphase in SS, but any idea when they'll update it with the new design from the white gold and blue enamel from sihh?
Hardly a negative comment, that’s JLC!
These are definitely sweet. Ive got a trio of reversos and Im really digging these.
I would love the Reserve de Marche with a rose gold case and blue dial along with rose gold indices and markers.
Favorite watch maker and Doctor Stranger's watch.👍🏻
Can you please do a video on the Junghans Max Bill 100 year Bauhaus watches?
Two very unique and minimalistic watches
These are beautiful, nice overview
Thanks for watching joe!!
Absolutely! That moon phase in pink gold😍.
I have discovered my grail watch in the ultra thin moon. A perfect size at 39mm, under 10mm thickness with a beautiful complication, and it also comes in an elegant black that complements the theme of the watch!? I mean there's just nothing to really top that for me
Just ordered the untrathin moon and can't wait to get it.
Hey Teddy. could you review the Master Control JLC "sector dial?"
JLC absolutely gorgeous dress watch
I love my JLC master ultra thin 41
What are your thoughts on standard 40mm master control option with the extended power reserve?
Love it This is my collection and ultra thin it’s a beauty 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Moonphase of curse 😍😍😍. Lovely brand
I completely agree with you
Just beautiful watches
Gorgeous watches
Would love to see a comparison between a Frederique Constant fc-715s4h6 moonphase and the JLC ultra thin. JLC is a grail for me.
JLC, is most likely, my favourite almost attainable watch!
I really want the one with the perpetual calendar and the moon phase!
I love JLC this brand are for watch lovers but for those who also care for great movements. Not saying Rolex and etas aren’t good but as people by for historic watch designs I like this for the movments history.
i want the ultra thin moon with diamonds but I rarely dress up/wear casual cloth most of the time. Should I get it?
Beautiful watches. Just breathtaking. :) Wow, wished I was wealthy enough to buy them all and more!
I like the Master Ultra Thin date in stainless steel. It's such a clean looking face and very elegant.
You have phenomenal taste
Hello. Could you do a review of the sector dial JLC. I think it might be a limited edition. Blue hands. awesome looking piece! want to buy one but can't find any on chrono24 or other favorite sites.
Really nice JLC MUT overview. Do you know if the JLC shaped rotor is only for the gold version of the moon or it is present on the steel one?
I have shopped the steel one and it has the same rotor. Same movement
Not my style, but that reserve de marches is cool. Neat video, Teddy. Thanks.
I'd get the perpetual, I just want a watch without flaws. The idea that my ultrathin moon will sometimes get the date wrong is just annoying.
I do prefer thin watches to all else though, so the master collection would be my go to if I ever got the money.
Also, I loved that scene from doctor strange and his watch draw.
Wish they made smaller versions of these. Call me old school but I really think the 33-36 mm range is the place to be for a dress watch. On top of being large I think this watch in particular is fairly unbalanced due to the large size of the case relative to the length of the lugs. Although it does not look too bad on this guy since he has a bigger wrist.
The ultra thin date is beautiful, nice clean lines. Enjoy the channel.
Looking to pickup a ultra thin Moonphase maybe in gold if i can get a good deal.
what are your thoughts on the duometre?
Why does JLC use an IWC movement for its calendars in the Master Control and Ultra Thin series?
I bought the JLC Master Ultra Thin Perpetual watch in 2014 - the stainless steel variant. Getting it was difficult, because you could buy the steel ones only at Jaeger-LeCoultre boutiques. After two years, the watch stopped. It was revised by the company for free, but it took them three months. In 2018 the watch showed the 29th of February. It was again inspected for free and returned to me after three months. This year (2021), the watch suddenly lost 4mins a day. At 230 the amplitude was not great either. JLC first wanted money for the the revision, but then did it again for free and within 2 months. I love this watch and wear it every day. However, have any of you out there had similar problems with it?
Change your wrist... It's not suitable for the timepiece
Stunning watches. Except the year window on the perpetual that throws off the balance. Technically it's not a perpetual anymore since it only reads up to 2199.
What song was your old intro
Own the ss Master Reserve De Marche great piece. JLC the watchmakers watch!
Nice
May I ask one thing about the ultra thin perpetual? It’s about the year… for example if it is a leap year, will the watch recognizes that tomorrow will be the 29th of February?
If I had 4 of those in my possession, I'd run away))
#4.4k 👍🤔👏👏🎉Beautiful!! I prefer the one with the fuel level at 10 o clock! It is rediculous such a watch in steel is $ 17k!
Dad had a Petik manual wind 5-6mm thick. He loved his 18k gold custom engraved watch mom gave him in 1953! I sold it in the late 80s for $1,000; a stupid move!! Thanks Teddy!💖
The perpetual calendar is my future watch. JLC and Breguet are the best after the holy trinity.
