Yea true, going out in general is expensive. I remember just last week, shouted my colleague breakfast at a coffee place, cost just north of $50 for 2 people. I got pancakes and a cold drink. Probably the last time I am shouting anyone anything. So for normal dinner $100 is pretty easy spent.

That's what it was when I just started my watch journey with my beloved Orient Tristar (that I still own btw) and stayed like that ever since. Once these pieces end up in the states they're more expensive and they'll be harder to claim if you prefer the official route.

Always interesting to see what people consider as entry level or what they choose for their first purchase.
My first “big”’purchase was a £45 Ricoh Medallion which was and still is stunning with a chocolate dial and original bracelet. Meanwhile I’ve seen folks asking what £10k watch they should buy as a gift for their father in law.
It’s truly fascinating to hear opinions from multiple financial stand points.
Now I’ve a Breitling 808, a few £1k+ chronographs and divers and I am always excited to see where my collection ends up. But I find it much harder to appreciate many watches I once aspired to buy. So it’s very interesting to hear what folks that spend tens if not hundreds of thousands on watches think on pieces that cost as much as their loose change 😅
