I'm so glad I've came across this mari tutorial. you have done a great a job in introducing this awesome software in an easy to understand manner. Thank you very much for your efforts. keep up the great work.
This video was very informative. Is there any chance of getting a video like this for more stylized skin? I haven't found anything very good that's geared more for Arnold and Maya,
Hi, I am using the non-commercial version to learn Mari. I am having trouble exporting and recieve the error: "Only RGB(A) 8 bits per channel writing is currently supported" Am wondering how to fix this issue, thanks!
I don't understand why you cant navigate using the mouse. Surely mouse wheel rolling should be zoom in/out and mouse wheel down should be orbit. Like blender, then you don't need to pan ever. Crazy using the alt key!
It is a process especially if you don't have lots of experience with clothing. Don't give up. If you don't like the cloth you created the first time, don't be afraid to start over. Watch the video again if you need to. It is a deep learning process. 😉😊
very good tutorial.. thanks im just upset i have to buy a 40 dollar map from a site they should be cheaper. so i didnt really get to deep into the tutorial of the skin due to having a xyz colormap but not the one needed to finish Mr. Jackson
@@ricarldoharris6037 Yea the maps from Texturing XYZ can be expensive but it is worth it, it is what is used in the film industry. When you have money saved up, I suggest you try them out. For the time being, you can try 3d.sk, I believe the maps there are more affordable.
Hi Ricarldo, you can buy the course without becoming a member, you can do the one time payment here: victory3d.com/p/hyper-realistic-character-portrait-dl

Very nice tutorials. I was trying to import a base mesh and giving me rendering error, Shader failed to compile, could you please advise me, thank you
What is the difference between this and substance painter? Do they both do the same thing and Mari is just used for movies?
which version of mari are u using in this video
Is mari used to texture buildings, creating large detailed texture for building for architecture visualisation?
Not so much. Mari is mainly for organic things like skin, fur, etc. For buildings and such you should probably go with Substance Painter/Designer
