0:05 The shop is waiting to hear back from the insurance company if they will cover the damage.
0:25 The shop rotated the hose clamp so the head of the Allen bolt would no longer hit it. Fixed the customer's concern.
0:32 The technician wasn't informed on why they think somebody stole the "coolant box".
0:42 " We replaced the pads, shims, and rotors. Good as new." They think the customer did the repairs as they could not tell the shop what other shop apparently did this.
1:03 Customer said he would fix it himself. The brake bleeder screw always has to be on the top of the brake caliper or you won't be able to bleed the brakes properly.
1:20 Hyundai Sonata. The knock sensor is supposed to be installed on the outside of the engine block so it can properly record any knocking noise to prevent engine damage.
1:27 Looking at the fuse box you can see that it looks like a fuse and relay have gotten pretty hot. This is an electrical issue that could turn out pretty bad if not fixed correctly.
1:40 Fuel tank was replaced. Just in case you're wondering you can also get 3 different sizes of tires on the SRT Dodge Challenger from the factory. The one in the video is the smallest size.
1:50 The damaged phone cable caused the customer's concern. Easy fix for the technician.
2:06 Oil dipstick is stuck between the oil pan and the bottom of the engine block. Good reason to always pull out the dipstick when resealing the oil pan, front cover, etc. Just to be on the safe side.
2:15 Ford Super-Duty with a spray-painted interior.
2:24 The mechanic found the air fresher the first time he opened the air filter box right on top of the mass air flow sensor, so he decided to film this to show (that's why it's on the bottom now).
2:36 The mechanic said it now needs 2 wheels, 2 tires, and 2 tpms sensors.
2:48 Sway bar links are fairly cheap, so that would have been the best thing for the customer to do. They did not want new ones installed.
2:58 The technician was not informed of what the customer hit to do this damage to the transmission. This was on a Mercedes-Benz (did not mention the model).

Keep up the good work my dude. Title and thumbnail case first, cool car at the end, into and outro are short n sweet
You really can guess the "content of their character" of a lot of these customers, lol
When someone won’t name the shop that butchered their repair, that’s a tell that it was the customer who attempted the work.
regular hose for brake lines? that just wont work howd they think it would? now, i've done some jank to my vehicles but the worst is wrapping a thick cable around my leafspring at the shackle and frame to keep it from going through my truck bed. (no chance for real repair, too rusty)

Nope, it had factory pad, so nobody did it.

The Jag driver was puzzled: "Didn't expect that water hole to be that deep, because there were ducks on it and the water only reached to their bellies."
LOL good one!
Boom tish 😊
It was pointed out during the 2013 floods here in eastern Colorado, that SOME cars had their Air Intake set LOW--like behind the front tire, and because of that readily sucked up water into the engine thru' the air filter, etc. Once, that would not be an issue--but now, with car designers trying to get More Stuff into Less Space - it's a very real thing.
What a proud Jaaaaaag owner
" how big were those ducks... sooo .... were they happily bobbling or walking" "uh both?"
That clip at the end shows what happens if you torque the wrong nuts.
OOOH. That hurts nearly as much as the clip.

It was a big puddle.....
Ngl I don't really get that one. If you drive a F Type through a flooded road water getting into the actual inside of the car would be an obvious tell what happened
If it's deep enough to go through the air intake even more so

HOW DARE YOU SAY THIS WAS MY FAULT!! - Dumbass Customer
That last clip brought tears to mine and the mechanics eyes 😂😂
i thought for a sec he closed his dick in it then i realized oh it is his hand lol
It almost brought tears to MY eyes, that HURTS!

It's always smart to decline all repairs on brakes. With the money saved, your family has extra money to buy your coffin.
life hack
Nah! The car is his coffin!
if the brakes don;t stop you.... something will!
Well, I mean, think about it. By not going to a professional in the first place, this guy got the job done twice for the same price. And you know... Who isn't a sucker for a 2 for 1 deal?
Less, they're going to have to buy coffins for the entire family.
No way that Jag got that much water from a puddle splash. Man went snorkeling with his Jag trying to keep up with the Rover.
the rover definitely also in the shop now for wheel bearing failure due to rust
i swear, maybe because it was raining too?
please approve the warranty replacement motor and trans now thx
my first thought was maybe he thought he needed to clean the inside of his turbo and broke out the garden hose, but that wouldn't explain the water in the transmission
Moment of silence for that last mechanic's push rod.
some of these customers own repairs are plain damn scary. the oil pan gasket was awesome for sure!
I liked the turn buckle end link...no, not really lol!
I'll fix my "repair" myself.
No... no... you've done enough.

@@crlaw75 That's the one I was referring to.
Rubber hose for brake lines.. 'declined all repairs'.. rolling past on a road near you.
That must have been one Hell of an impact to rip off not only the transmission pan, but, the whole freakin' valve body, too!
Right? That's a first I've seen lol
I'm amazed that any of that transmission is left in there let alone the condition it's in!
Ramp at speed, those ones raised up in centre, kerb or maybe something like a rock or something in the road hit at speed
@@Ryan-uc6uiIt actually looks pretty good considering the impact.
I assume the dukes of hazard theme was playing at the time.
I've heard of "junk in the trunk" before, but never "junk in the engine bay." 😀
The last one appears to me to be a completely appropriate time for a man to cry.
The other vehicle that splash all that water must have been a super tanker.
I was thinking submarine.
The other vehicle was the one that lost half the tranny and engine.
Must be thirty years ago now, I shut my fingers into the hood of my car in a busy London street. Busy, that is, until I desperately needed help. Must have been three or four minutes of deserted pavements before a pedestrian interpreted my wailing and tear-stained eyes as a genuine cry for help. Three of my fingers were really deeply dented but swelled up like sausages after a couple of hours. Nothing broken, though.
Fuckk dude that sucks sorry you went thru that.
I managed to do the same in Chester Services. It was just a quick check under a front-hinged bonnet so I didn't position the stay. Gust of wind.......and it's amazing how everyone disappears. I was lucky to get away without even any swelling.
When a customer says that another shop did the work, but they won’t say which one that usually means they did it themselves to avoid embarrassment
yeah happens all the time🤣
I thought that was obvious...
"customer wouldn't say where the brakes were worked on"
was too embarrassed to say he screwed them up himself xD
It was that shop very close to his house, named The Driveway
The jag driver just drove over a pudle 😂
If that puddle was the atlantic ocean, engine and transmission? Smells like something that would happen trying to cross a river (or ocean)
Or drove through a very very deep one
Yeah, sure. Sense the sarcasm
I thot cats hate water
more like the jag driver probably watched a TikTok clip that says Jags are now amphibious ...
The story is always going to be good if it contains one of these, "The customer installed himself" or "The customer declined all repairs." Great stuff, keep it coming.
I hate this kind of cheap skate customers. When you tell them the repair costs money, they decline all repairs and take off. Wtf do they expect?
@@Chris-yy7qc Declined repairs and then blames the shop. There are still idiots roaming the earth.
@@Chris-yy7qc I blew an exhaust valve on my '97 civic many years ago. A shop was going to charge well over $1500. So my dad and I bought a valve, new head gasket, and new head bolts. We replaced the valve for all-told $250.
It's not being a cheapskate to not want to be completely screwed over by ridiculous prices.
@@Nathan-dt2tu Dont get me wrong, mate. Nothing wrong about fixing your car yourself, if youve got the skills. Heck Im fixing my cars and bikes myself, too.
What I was talking about is the kind of customers that leave with an unsafe car, and then be a danger to others. And most of them will not fix anything and just wait until they lose a tire on the highway. And they do this because theyre cheap and expected sb to fix their car for free.
THAT LAST CLIP.. No way dude!! I would be VERY unhappy..
To me, when customers decline any proper repairs on their vehicles, they each must have a death wish.
They are also murderous as they might take someone else with them when the car fails.
In at least some cases repairs are declined because the car 8s getting scrapped.
Not enough, but some.
I found out that sometimes, a customer might decline repairs because the shop won't be able to work on it within the timeframe they need it back by, so they decide to bring it to another shop.
Or they don't have the money to fix it.
@@ogshotglass9291 Or they are trying to get a cheaper place to do the work.
Last clip reminds us all to be careful when working on cars , because body parts can be injured in a pinch .
As a gear head I love these clips. No idea what these car owners are thinking. A long time ago after looking and measuring twice, I once drilled a hole into a brand new, $500 radiator. I knew it almost immediately. I was so mad. Throwing stuff. Never forgot it
That's so fucking terrible. Sorry for your loss...
One time, during an inspection, I was pushing a button to open firewall shut off valve for one of the engines. I pushed the one right next to it and set off the engine fire extinguisher. I knew it right as I was pushing the button.

My cousins uncles brothers son in-law...
@@wojtek-33 It's true. There are many fly by night shops.
@wojtek-33 that's very true and I've had bad dealings with a few over many years, but they're not going to be in business for very long! My 14yr old grandson can probably do a better job than those so called "shops". Brake jobs with worn out/broken rotors, water in the oil from a fresh oil change, car overheating after just getting a radiator flush; only to find out windshield wiper fluid was put in instead of antifreeze? I get mistakes can happen and alot do, but SOME of those "mistakes" are not from a professional shop (with any integrity) I'm just saying, I'm not buying 95% of the b.s.
I wasn't prepared to the horrors of the last clip.
That swaybar link DIY repair was an impressive attempt! 🤣🤣
That last one was rough, I feel his pain. Did something similar loading a slab of wood into the back of my truck. Nothing damaged, but damn…
I put an air freshener on my intake filter and the exhaust smells so much nicer now.
I added one to my muffler to make the exhaust smell better, then had to take the car in for a strange burning smell coming from the rear of the car.
Probably thought it was the cabin air filter.
I can't even imagine what it would like trying to drive your car to the shop on only rims. Would the noise be deafening? Could you even corner? Wouldn't your car feel lopsided?
With the money they save on a tow truck, they're going to have to spend 10x that fixing all the extra damage they did driving on their rims.
Maybe they think their model has run-flat tires and it's OK. Not trying to make excuses, just trying to understand.
I got a flat tire a few weeks ago and had to drive less than 1 block to a parking lot to change it. At 20 m.p.h. the vibration was bone rattling and the sound was deafening.
@@squirrelsarepeopletoo6678 And I would do the same thing. Not risking my life changing a tire next to a road.
Aluminum wheels won't take long to destroy. I saw an aluminum wheel that was cracked in several places after being driven less than 50 feet after hitting a broken glass bottle. On the other hand, I have a wheel on my van that I had to drive 5 miles with a blown out tire. That was 7 years ago and the wheel is still in good shape. All that was left of the tire was the beads and part of the sidewalls.
One day I was out doing some work in my yard and this old jalopy, packed full of people, drove right down the street with all 4 tires blown. They were doing at least 30 in a 25 too.
I swear I heard them coming from two blocks away and at first I couldn't figure out what the hell the flapping rubber sound was. When it got to me, it was really very loud.
Don't worry Jordan, we all cried with you. Except your co-worker who had to get his 2 chuckles in before lifting the hood for you...
Let me take a selfie with you first. Oh, and post it online first on all my socials. Then I'll open the hood.

The last guy should be careful where he leaves his tools.
I love seeing these. I can't stop watching. I'm not a mechanic, and I watch these to see what not to do. Not that I would do any of this.
People in my country moan about our annual car test, (and yes its far from perfect) but this just shows how much they are needed, especially in the current age of idiocy.
The issue is that it's not really needed, so many places will just pass anything as it's a guaranteed source of income and they'll never get checked for it that the roads are still full of deathtraps. Roadworthiness tests as a concept only work if everyone in the system is a good faith actor but if everyone in the system was a good faith actor they'd keep their cars in good condition anyway and so even then the tests would be pointless.
@@jimmydesouza4375Here in Australia the mechanic can’t cheat on the brake test because the device used uploads the results to the state motor registry directly. I guess there are other aspects of the test that can be let through, but I’ve never heard of it happening in the last twenty years.
@@bigm383what state does regular road-worthies? I wish they had an annual check in VIC like the my do in NZ.
@jimmydesouza4375 This is why we have the inspection performed by an independent organisation.
Some people don't like it and want a system like the UK or parts of USA where garages can do the inspection, but that is just an invitation to fraudulent practices, and is exactly why they like the idea!
It has never not been an age of idiocy, it's just that the US is so broken they can't even fight back against it and it is imploding the country

2:57 - Suddenly a 7-speed 722.9 transmission turned to a no-speed transmission... The M6 bolts used to secure the steel oil pan and the valve body (with the transmission control unit) onto this transmission are made of an aluminium alloy and torqued to yield, so they can snap off quite easily by an impact.
