Dustin had pretty much disciplined Conor during the first round, taking him down, tying him up and trading in the middle of the ring. Dustin was doing whatever he wanted and had that lead leg smashed up. Round two saw some urgency from Conor trying to impose his striking game but got taken out cleanly instead.
People might see the fight differently due to Conor's fame and reputation. It doesn't help that the UFC commenters cheerlead certain fighters.

McGregor was cruising in the 1st nullifying any takedowns and making dustin pay with some lovely knees and some crisp shoulder strikes.

Mcgregor actually did fairly well in this fight, he just can't rely on that chin anymore after all the wars he's been in. Plus the whole leg kick thing too.

@@jdc4316 He's always looked like a ferrety old man, even when he was in his mid-twenties. The footage of him at the end of the fight, sprawled on the canvas, not knowing what happened...he looked ancient. Maybe he's like a Karl Pilkington chinese person: ages like a pear.

He trained boxing most of he time before this fight because he was supposed to be boxing mannie Pakiau. So his automatic response was a boxing one, but the difference is 4ounce MMA gloves do much more damage than boxing gloves. McGregor should’ve gone for a take down or clinched up its like he forgot he could grapple 😂
