McGregor is done with MMA. He'll try to keep up but it's all over for him. It was a full 5 minutes before he talked about something other than the movie, then he immediately said "I'm busy with promoting the movie,"and *"then there's St. Patty's with the alcohol"" Haha he really said he can't schedule a fight because of St Patrick's day and alcohol. He's been ducking Chandler since a few weeks after TUF filming started.
With that level of commitment, he'll be retiring by the end of this year.
There is nothing better than when you get Conor actually talking about the fighting landscape. You can see the amount of detail he watches the fights and the fighters with.
I seriously feel bad for the man. You can tell, he's genuinely upset about the negotiation process that's been going on... or the lack of it.

He has 2 fights left on his contract and obviously is unwilling to sign again since he knows he can make 50x more boxing in Saudi or UAE. So the UFC will string him along, typically they would feed a huge star to rising talent to build their name but everyone mcgregor wants to fight is basically retired or at the very end of their career so its of no benefit to the UFC to have him fight.

@@kf1809 no the reason they don’t give him a fight is because they try to save him for the best possible occasion which makes the most possible money which means the event has to be very picky in terms of which fighter he can go against and when those fighters are available.
Do you not believe Connor when he says I just want to fight anybody so he can get comfortable in there again. You’ve seen when fighters come back from years off that never goes well. Look at Henry Cejudo recently. But because it’s Connor, and we all have such high expectations of him. The man takes one wrong step on you all jump on him to try and absorb some of that fame

He actually targets the best fights he should have for a potential ending of his career. A conclusive bout of the Diaz and the Poirier saga is truly what the fans and the mma history would appreciate when looking back. I think if it finally happen that way it would be fantastic, giving to all of us that last taste of what the best years of the UFC felt like.

Right now currently the UFC are holding up this but I bet for the past 6-9 months since the ultimate fighter it’s been McGregor holding the return up because of this movie and the roids he’s been on most likely so it’s a push and pull with Conor and UFC at the moment definitely some fire behind the scenes with Conor and Dana. Every time Conor is asked about his return he first mentions he’s got 2 fights left on his deal and with him being out in Saudi a lot I assume he wants some mega fights over there, make no mistake about it though if Conor wanted to fight right now he could the UFC have to offer every contracted fighter 3 fights a year. Nobody is holding their breath waiting for the return because honestly who knows if it ever happens at this point

I use to fall into the camp of not really liking Conor mc Gregor maybe my own personal jealousy that some guy at the bottom of life made it to way over the top of life but that has gone now and I feel respect for Conor . His achievements through his own efforts inside and outside the ring , the global fame , his business successes all in no time at all is truly mesmerising , trying the hold it together with all that pressure and inside he’s a good hearted decent guy and is still down to earth with everybody . How did Conor get an interview on the set of Mrs Browns Boys ?
I wonder if the UFC allows these fighters to go into movies as an ego check. Or maybe as a way to throw them a bone during negotiations. They let them take these opportunities during moments in their career where they feel on top and want to call the shots for the next chapter as a way to show em it’s fun but you’re not number one, all eyes on you, mvp in acting. Yeah these fighters get a lot of attention and are pampered throughout the process but they’re being directed as well, and they have to play support role now, and are doing what the role requires. Might be tough for some star fighters to be in the middle of, or maybe a wake-up call as to his role with the ufc. I think Conor learned a lot but also given his unique personality, thrived and felt comfortable with the task at hand.
Adam’s passion for the sport is palpable. Very happy for him and long overdue with MMA becoming more exciting and popular than boxing. Maybe it’ll open many people’s eyes to the sport and even Simon Jordan may take some interest instead of disregarding it 👍🏼

As a Conor fan, im not sure he will ever be the same again.
Bring back prime McGregor who would speak so articulate and precise. The guy who was witty, funny and hungry to go out and dominate. The superstar who was a great role model for young people, first to be world champion in two different weight divisions showing that you can do anything if you work hard and put your mind to it. I hate to see the way it’s going for him and hope it doesn’t end up like other people we’ve seen in the past. I miss the old McGregor.

If Conor wants to have an acting career beyond fighting, he's definitely going to have one in Hollywood if he wants it. He already understands the mindset and process of the actor; few are able to grasp it so quickly. But I hope he's got some good fights left in him. As a huge fan I want to see his best-self and that only seems to be possible if he has an objective set-in-stone. Unlike the majority I do believe in a successful come-back, as once he’s goal orientated he’s an unstoppable force, he just seems to be unstoppable in the opposite direction currently.
