PALAGI BEACH - LOW TIDE ADVENTURES | CAPE TAPUTAPU - CAN'T GET ANY FURTHER WEST in AMERICAN SAMOA

- We're joined by our friends the Daskam's on our adventure today, as we hike along the western shoreline of Tutuila to find Palagi Beach. This super remote and completely isolated beach is basically the furthest west you can go before leaving the islands that make up American Samoa.
The trail to get to Palagi Beach is only accessible at low tide and is still treacherous with slippery and sharp rocks, steep eroded bits, and crashing waves, but the payoff at the end is totally worth it!
We had a great day, carefully making our way to Palagi Beach, then enjoying this little slice of paradise with our friends.
When are you going to go check it out?

Much love from NY🔥
Thank you AmSamFam for sharing your experience. To be able to see parts of the island that I haven't seen, didn't know it existed. I was born in America Samoa, I left when I was very young. God wills, II plan to retire there, and plan to explore all of the beaches that you've visited. Hike and walk the trials. I can't wait to get there. 😊
Another good one AmSamFam 👍 Way to husk that coconut like a true Hamo Nate 🤗. God bless and be well. 💜🙏🏻

Love you guys. Exploring the American Samoan Island. Lots to do there for your family. Stay blessed.🥰🌺🌸💖♥️💝❤️💞
been living in American samoa for 18 year and never been to taputapu smh.. great video guys
Now’s your chance 🤙
@@AmSamFam too bad I lived in Washington now
Get back there Jade x2 got weather on MI level. brrr
It’s a beautiful island, it used to be a light house there.. it’s an amazing hike lots of Toloa birds (storm hawk) and a great place to view the bigger island of Upolu and the free diving or snorkeling is unreal,it looks scary but it’s not if you know the moana.
Talofa family, what a beautiful hike, I grew up in that tip of getting to Taputapu island it’s a beautiful place to swim to Taputapu island and the hike on Taputapu is the bomb 💣 it’ll take you to the opposite side, the moana said we used to see the island of Upolu from that side and the diving is unbelievable there, some of most alive coral and good eating fish and lobsters are there.. thank you for the beautiful content.tofa.
Oh, good to know. We’ll have to bring snorkel and spear fishing gear, if we can convince Nate to hike out there again 😄
I took some photos from that spot and yes, you can only get through there in low tide. Two rules they gave me, stay safe and do not be too loud! 😂😂🤙🏼✊🏼 can’t wait to get back
Yessah, I for one watch that particular video U took awhile back. Ur camera shots are amazing, great clarity, the wide angles are spot on..ps.U sure you're not a professional photographer? I like ur Poloa videos. Thnx for sharing.

I live just across the pond from you guys, in Upolu, and i love watching your content. It has such a cool chill vibe to them. I literally make myself a hot beverage and sit down to watch and relax. Thankyou for your videos, and your appreciation of our small corner or the world; quirks and all.
Awww, thanks! One of these days, when we can make it back to Upolu and Savai’i, we’d love to share even more of this corner of the world ❤️
Always appreciate views of home! Keep up the good work. Talofa from Texas...

Great video, thanks. Definitely going to go there when I come back. Never new it was called Palagi Beach lol. The hiking reminds me of fugama’a in Vaitogi. You guys should check that beach out. One of my favorite spots to swim. Thanks again for the video. It’s alway good to see home. Keep them coming. ❤️🇦🇸

I don't recall if you ever mentioned why they called it Palagi Beach , personally I have a hunch, but to be respectfully to all viewers, great video, thanks for sharing.
You know, I’ve never heard an explanation… We’re going to ask around about that.
Why is it called a Palagi Beach?
Who called it so???
@@AmSamFam because only Palagis go there, and you can go there on Sundays
@@farawashington5343 hi,my personal opinion is this, they name it Palagi Beach because the Palagis are the only ones that are either daringly or have patient of mother Theresa to stretch the tons of bolders, sharp edges rocks ,down right a pure widow maker.I give credit to Jonathan, Melinda and their kids for this amazing video I never knew such places existed on the Islands. Once again, it's only my opinion. Thank you.
i live where the palagi beach is that village is amanve
Nice flip flop save 🩴
Right?!
In the pacific islands it’s known as slippers slipas especially here in the Hawaiian islands.loling 😂😂🤙🏿🤙🏿
@@tuiesera3231 so a slipper slipped?
2 things: 1) I know what a palagi is...anyone know why the beach has that name? 2) That beach is a geologist's dream...
A few people have asked that and the only answer we’ve heard is because palagis are the only ones who would hike out to the beach 😂🤷🏻♀️ And yes, I e often thought it would be great if we had a geologist come along with us on all our adventures, to tell us about the different things we’re seeing 😊
Love your posts but could you please please pronounce your “g” in samoan properly. I presume you actually speak with Samoans there so ask anyone to teach you how to say palaGi and paGo paGo etc properly. Its not hard The “g “ in Samoan is soft and sounds like ‘ng’ .If you can say siNGing then you can say Pago Pago properly. Im surprised noone’s pulled you up on it.
We give them a pass on pronunciation because they're palagi, and we understand it's very hard for palagi to pronounce our g even after practicing for a bit. Melinda has it down though, and can say it properly. Maybe Nate will also get the hang of it with time, but if not, then really we don't mind because palagi.
