Now imagine if, instead of a 2 minute scene, the doctor meating up with jack again, and then breaking out of prison was a whole episode
This would be a better episode
Oooh I’m imagining “Time Heist” vibes but with jack and thirteen.. that would be epic
“Meating up”. Knowing Captain Jack, that’s a strangely appropriate typo 🤣
@@bloodybritbastard glad someone got that joke (;
meating
Honestly, I think it would have been funnier if he didn’t recognize the Doctor at first, and would introduce himself, and when she said “stop it”, then he’d recognize her.
But that would mean the show would be well-written and by fuck we can't have that mate.
If you have a good ideia you can be sure they already discarded it
@@iwillheadlockyournan731 so instead of him purposefully imprisoning himself to get next to the Doctor's cell it would have been better writing if, by complete chance, Jack just happened to be next to the Doctor's cell that day, and just happened to be planned an escape that was happening on that specific day? That would have been better writing?
Unless you meant "knew they would be by the Doctor's cell but didn't know which one would be the Doctor," in which case... sure?
They kinda already did that with 12 and river tho
That would’ve been so gooooooood
I love the fact she says to the silence, 'oh yeah, forgot you were here!' Because she probably said that every day for the entire time she was there
The Silence: am i joke to you
Or maybe she said that because the silence tend to disappear from your memory when you look away

@@kmendiant49 he still tried to flirt with old man whatever the fuck his name is in front of the doctor
Producer: So the Doctor is in prison now, huh? Must be difficult to break out.
Writer: No, super easy barely an inconvenience. Jack brings this hamster ball in which they can just walk past every security measure.
Producer: Oh, so Captain Jack is back, where did he come from?
Writer: You see he had this plan which he worked on for over 19 years.
Producer: Oh, so we see how he planned and executed it?
Writer: Not a single bit of it, no.
Producer: Will the prison at least have any effect on the story or the characters?
Writer: None at all.
Producer: Then why include the prison?
Writer: Because.
Producer: That works
Oh, references to pitch meetings are tight!
We do see a single bit of it in all fairness, what do you think he was doing running away in a space ship in the last series ;) He already knew back then the doctor was in jail, probably heard stories of how the doctor ended up in jail which I mean come on how else would he know about the cybermen and the whole don't give it what it wants situation. I reckon he either intended to change history then or just happened to run into them at the right/wrong time and was like oh btw while I'm on the way to save the doctor, here's some info to try and save me some time... xD
I have a feeling they skipped a few things to analyze in series 13. If I have learned anything from reviewing doctor who and learning how to plan it is that Chibs plants whole ideas then walks away from then to bring them up later on. Meaning the prison will be back in series 13
wow wow wow.... wow...
The sad thing.. is that it must be literally how chibnall does it lol

The fact that Judoon could even capture and contain a silence and a weeping angel makes me realise how truly terrifying the judoon are 🤣🤣🤣🥴
Yeah. While that is impressive I think it's safe to say they'd have issues if they attacked in numbers. I think this doesn't just show how much of a threat the Judoon are, but how underestimated they are, they hold prisoners but neither prisoner's people are trying to free them.
@@TeriasModFaldom Why would they come save them? Weeping angels have left their own for dead before. The Silence serve a greater purpose than to risk anything for an individual. Even humans here in reality don't do that. Try just getting hurt in another country, let alone arrested, and see what happens. Unless you're from a country like Norway or have really really good friends/family, no one is coming to save you. It's probably at a secret location that makes getting thrown in there easier than finding the place yourself
@@zac9733 it's possible to consider what the cybermen do is a form of reproduction. I think the judoon are basically lawful neutral. This was built up to be some big thing. The doctor in prison, her companions by themselves. Then it was resolved way to quickly. I like the way it was resolved. Jack was brilliant. But come on!
You are expecting too much from Chibnall lol.
@@feliperagonha I know haha. That’s why I hope he leaves before she does
@@thomasstevens4735 Unfortunately that hasn't happened yet, having a Doctor cross between showrunners, and Jodie seems pretty adamant about either working with Chibnall or leaving. I totally agree, though, with better writing she'd be more than amazing
That pretty much sums up this episode unfortunaltely. It was just rinse and repeat. Episode introduces problem. Episode fixes problem. Doctor in prison? Heres Jack with his magic butt ball. Dalek clone farm in Osaka? Heres some explosives. Some Daleks manage to get to the defense drones? Send in the Dalek SAS. Dalek SAS now on earth? Heres more explosives. Ship destroyed but Daleks still on earth? Lets play how many Daleks can we fit into a decoy TARDIS then suck it into the void..... somehow. I actually quite liked the plot, but like for example in "The sound of Drums" we had roughly an entire episode of the Master and the Toclafaine devastating earth. They needed to give the bad guys more time being the bad guys.
@@rayzermaniac5218 Chib is terrible at writing sci-fi dialogue. The Doctor can apparently just throw things into the Void like a bin now, all that "cracking the surface of this dimension" when travelling across doesn't matter anymore. Doctor: What sort of crimes?

"where were you hiding that?"
You know how Jack came up with the name "Breakout Ball" for the device, it was probably a reference to Ianto and his nicknaming for items. Jack will never forget him.
Her face knowing where Jack had hidden the vortex manipulator is gold.
I love the imagery of the doctor scratching tally marks on the wall. We know this is to symbolise the passage of time but seeing as she was living next to a silence, it's reflective of the time when that was used to remember having seen one; despite the fact she hasn't been able to forget the silence since the events in 1969
The doctor is immune to the silence’s gimmick? Do you have a reference for that?
Great episode just thought she got out of prison a bit quick.

That's because what we're used to is the Doctor having the plan and the companion being clueless. Just for once, it's Jack who has the plan and the Doctor who's clueless.
