Solid advice on a good secondhand laptop etc over a new one for the same price. A little luck involved depending what is around at the time but helps your dollars go so much further - Taz.
I use an Asus netbook to tune with HP Tuners and it gets the job done well no slowness, other than the small keyboard and screen it's a breeze. I use it because it charges from USB and fits in the center console of my Silverado so I can datalog and make basic changes at the track without issues. They frown on having a laptop loose in the car and it's easy to keep constrained. At home I have a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and a big HDMI monitor so it's no problem using it. It's got a bit more power than the one you demoed but not a lot more is needed.
I just bought the HP tuner MVPi2 and saw that the plus just came out will be returning mine and getting the new plus. I bought a cheap new laptop from Amazon Asus L210 11” seems to be working fine so far. I upgraded the memory though

Do you have any experience changing an OS so that it’s compatible with a segment swap? My trucks OS isn’t popular and doesn’t have a compatible OS available that came with a 4l80 to swap. I read that you can change the is and then do the segment swap is this true if so could you maybe do a video on it
I use LS droid (tunerPro) on my cheap Chinese 10” android head unit radio and I flashed my CPU wirelessly with an OBDLINK Bluetooth dongle ✅😜👍🏽 true story. I just need a wideband sensor! …On a budget… 🤷🏽♂️

Could I use a tablet that only has USBC ports and use a USB to USBC adapter for the USB to can wire?

I was thinking about getting a surface go 2 but it only has a USB c port and not a regular USB port. Do you think I could still connect my mpvi2 to it with a USB c to USB c and still transfer files over?
Yes, but does that run a true version of windows? Used to have to be a surface pro for the software to work

Walmart has an onn brand windows 10 tablet. Absolute trash but works 😂. It takes like 10 minutes just to get into windows though.

Older laptops are still excellent to use for tuning
one would have to get into regertry and kill a bunch then it would work but never by it 2gb is junk atom is junk a older cheap used ebay amd a12 laptop 8 gb ddr4 150 ish is cost off ebay auction a week ago and it is what i have laying around ready to use
