So I got a quarter from 1980 that is mint condition that looks like the 50cent piece you have in your display picture all is shiny except the head and the eagle on the back there dull

I'm gonna have to check my collection. I work at a subway and always check the change. Ive accumulated a ton of wheat pennies, the oldest being from 1918. I once found an 1887 Indian Head penny in a roll of pennies.
I'll keep looking and hoping at the same time. That would be so crazy to find one!.

1959 is the 1st year they stop making wheat pennys so you really want thw mistake of wheat plant still there whwn ir should not be

Lol. Actually found a 1959D yesterday while metal detecting! When I saw the obverse and date I started to SHAKE! Turned it over....ALAS,! it had the memorial. But only knew about this coin because of J &B.! Thanks y'all, much love from da swamp!

That would be so great to find... There could be some more out there... I have actually put 59s in my wheat albums... And vise versa... You could mix something up... And it would not surprise me if others were found... Sime kids or newer collectors may not even realize the 1959 should not have a wheat reverse.. Nice video.. Thank you!😀i have a bunch of 1959 d and p mints... I alwsys pull them when roll hunting... And i will double check what i have!

I have been looking up this coin earlier as i look up every penny i find and i have this penny except the wheat side of the penny is now scratched up but its still a 1959 d wheat penny mule coin and i was wondering if i could still get money for it if the reverse still has scratches on it

I have lots of old coins including this 1959 Penny
I've heard about this, but did not know about the detailed history of it or the sale history of it.
Aside from the apparent rarity of this coin it would seem another factor playing into its awesone monetary value is, as always with any collectible coin of value, its condition. It looks pretty damn nice!!!

This coin is the reason I entered into numismatics. My gpa tried getting me into coins and it just never really stuck. I always enjoyed the time we spent together but did not consider myself a collector. Until, I bet my cousin $100 that 1959 was the last year of wheat cents, I only made that stupid bet because I had a 1959 mule. THERE IS AT LEAST ONE MORE! I HAD one. I lost it, when i say lost i mean i cannot find it anywhere because i didn't know what i had at the time. When i figured out what I had i tore my entire house apart. To this day I cannot find it. Since grandpa died I have always kept shiny pennies and this one was NICE, so i believe i still have it somewhere. This was about 2 years ago that i figured out i had a mule and started collecting coins. Sad day i still kick myself for it. Did not know it's worth $50k tho. DAMN! Grandpa is probably rolling over in his grave! Either mad or laughing! RIP Gpa! miss you every day!

Every time I get a good tone, I wonder if it's going to be a coin like this, the 43 copper, 1913 V nickel, etc. So far, no luck in this regard. =(

@@RealRuler2112 Me and a buddy went detecting today and I found a 54 benji and a war nickel and my buddy found a 48 roosevelt and a war nickel. Plus we found countless wheat's, it was a good hunt. NO MULE PENNIES LOL!
