Being born in 1976, I love the bicentennial coins. My grandfather left me a coin collection when he passed in 1994, I was 18. I'd get it out of the safe every once and a while to look at it while reminiscing. Never thought I'd be the collecting type, but this last year, I've really kind of gotten into it. My grandparents used to say to never sell unless I needed to. Or unless if it were a case where something would net a life changing amount, that would have also been acceptable. But to hang on and pass them along is cool too. I just empty nested & not sure where life is going to take me next...but it'll likely be an adventure...hoping that it will be a good one...esp after this last few years.
    Cheers

It included a 2009 set of uncirculated coins, around 25 red food ration tokens from the 30's or 40's, a full set of war nickels, 12 NFL colorized quarters (including McNab and Brady), and a set of 2009 buffalo quarters and nickels (some altered for show) all for cheap.

My daughter gave me 3 coins in plastic today. They turned out to be Bicentennial proof Ike, Half dollar an quarter. They don't have clad. They are silver. The Ike is the fat block letters with the tail on the S swinging up to the middle serif in the E. I think the quarter an half are silver too. I dont see clad when i turn them the edge. The Ike looks to be a regular look to it. It is not satin finish or really really shiny. I watched your video. It was the best informative video I could find on them. Thank You very much for this video. They all 3 have the S mint mark

Thank you for the clarity of your presentation. I have a collection that is very broad in scope--a lot of different denominations--and I am trying to zero in on what I have that might be valuable. I deeply appreciate how slowly you go. I know quite a bit about coins, but videos made by children in baseball caps speaking quickly in poor English only arouse my scorn. I do have bicentennial dollars, and will go through them very carefully. I was born in 1949, and got my start in coin collecting in 1959, their year of the Lincoln Memorial reverse. My father brought home boxes of old change from his parents' attic, which helped me fill in old dates.

I have a large binder of Ike Dollars. I also have several pages of bicentennial dollars. I have business strikes from the Philadelphia mint and the Denver mint. I also have several Proof Ike’s in both the clad and silver strikes. That book has sat for years untouched but protected. Since watching your video in which you reported what the good ones sell for at the larger Auctions, like Heritage, I’ll be retrieving that book out of the safe and taking out several of the different varieties and having them graded so I can send them to auction. You really got my attention when you announced that one brought $850,000 at auction. I’ll be checking mine out soon to see if that coin could have found it’s way into my collection. I’ve owned them for a long time and anything is possible. But regardless, it looks like it’s time to put the more desirable ones on the auction and let somebody else enjoy them. I’ve liked the large dollars since one of my Aunts gave me a few Morgan dollars when I was 5 or 6 years old. For some reason it left an impression on me and I’ve been collecting coins for almost 65 years now.

I have a few and will be looking asap... Great vid. Since I've looked through them I found prob 7 er 8 bicentennial Ike's and yeh baby!!! One of them was a type 1 reverse, it has a Denver mint mark but it is in very nice condition to be found in a stack of these coins. Definitly in the Ms60's range, couple faint marks on the neck and a reed strike on the reverse but very nice overall. So props to you guys and this video, becouse before this I had never heard of the type 1 reverse. I found it almost couple months ago and it was the last rare coin I found to give ya the heart racing great feeling that coin collectors get hooked on. Thanks guys and keep putting out the great videos.

Yeah I have several bicentennial quarters that I saved through the last 30 years , many were pocket change, in circulation, but the fact that any of these could possibly bring a few hundred dollars is worth looking them over again!.... I just found my bicentennial set with the quarter and kennedy half dollar which are in the proof mirror like condition but although I have the isenhour dollar with no mint mark it unfortunately doesn't have a mirror like finish, which if I understand right is not a proof coin but a business strike.... still makes me wonder what this set would fetch at auction?.

I just found 4 type 1 1975 proof 2 type 1 . Two in the silver red package 75/76. Those are the 4 and the 2--76 proofs are type 2. If you have the time please tell me if they are worth grading.

I wasn’t born in 76’ like TINY, I’m a lot older. I graduated from High School in 76’ so I also collect a lot of 76’ coin’s. I have just about every Ike you can buy, not sure about this one, but I will be looking to see!! I always keep or buy 76’ coins of all denominations.
    Great information!!
    Thanks for sharing!
I do have a question about a no FG Ike. I have one, but haven’t been able to find out if it is rare. Do you know about them?
