Ive saved all the money i got as a child growing up, was born in the 70's, have a great collection.
Yes, I was saving these quarters for a while. But I quickly discovered that coins in my possession were always worthless, and coins that belonged to the coin dealer were very valuable and expensive. Funny how that works
thats the inside story, a dealers coin will always be worth something but not ours!! Lol!

My dad has been collecting this quarters for years. I also collected them as I find them. I found them mostly in casinos. I will have to look through all of my dad's collection. Thanks for the info video.

I have a 50 state collection of bicentennial coins. Back in the late seventies they sold these green coin holders for these coins. It took me a while to fill mine up with the right coins and of course I only used the cleanest coins I came across. I think I may be missing just a few as unless you were in those states they were hard to get. I got mine because I was an over the road truck driver back then and every time I went into a state I did not have a coin for I seemed to always get what I wanted and all are very nice. But there were a few states I did not get. I also had a lot of bicentennial coins dated 1776 - 1976. Don't know why I just liked them. Every time I found a nice one I just kept it. I used to have lots of old coins but ex-wives tend to take their toll. These however I still have and of course silver dollars and stuff like that. I am 63 now, have not looked at them in a while. Not sure why I still have them, but I do. Never gave any thought to getting rid of them. Just kept them with me everywhere I went. Back when I start collecting these the thing to collect back then was silver coins. Have a few of them too. lol. Thanks for the video. Never realized they were worth anything.

I was just given a bicentennial quarter in my change finally. I tried to keep them as a child and well my parents always took them but now I'm finally in a position to save my coins in memory of my grandma who alway tried to save coins and always gave them away to people in need. I LOVE YOU MA

I was born in 1976 too, I have been keeping any 1976 quarter I find since I was about 5, have a bunch of other bicentennial commeritave stamps books coins etc. Kind of neat to be connected to an event in history that way.
Word. I was born in '76 as well. Awesome. I keep all my bicentennial quarters when found. I really enjoy the numismatic arts.
I am also into what us considered being an "exo-numinist". I collect, bicentennial themed commemorative tokens, wooden nickles, medals, mardi grass coins, buss and toll booth coins etc. from 1976..... There are so many types and variations seems like every town or city had their own designs made to celebrate the occasion. Franklin Mint made some neat ones with great engraving, I usually check through the "junk coin bins" coin dealers have, you also see them at antiques malls, or flea markets. Most are $.25 to $1.00 since "real coin collectors" dont pay big money for them😉👍.

I have collecting Bicentennial coins since I was 11, especially the quarter. Unfortunately, due to times of needing to pay bills, most of my Bicentennial quarters are gone. But recently, over the last 10 years or so, I have regain some of my collection back.
I was born that year got a bicentennial birth certificate as well, may 6, 1976. I do have the quarters about 6 that shows the man drummer on the back. I didn't think they be expensive at all. Thanks for sharing this.

I remember the Bicentennial. I was in the 6th grade. Today, September 1, 2021, I bought a bank roll and found a beautiful 1776-1976 Quarter. I must send it in for professional grading. Thank you so much for the valuable information. 👍

I have 6 bicentennial quarters. I lived in Phila at the time and my grandmother gave them to me as she got them at the bank when the were distributing them. I lived with her in 1976 when they were made, bright and shiny, never cleaned👍

Yes Bicentennial Quarters are one of my favorites. I saw my first quarter while I was in the Army, stationed in Germany in 1975. Thought it was strange to get a coin before 1976 begun.

When these first came out, and I would get them in change, I would wrap them in linen and put them in a purse in my drawer. I have about 50 of them that I have never touched. Time to look at them!
I learned much from the segment. I am in possession of a few of the bicentennial quarters described, as well as 1963 and 64 nickels. I am new to coin collecting, but have a few nice coins.
Of all the quarter designs, this is my favorite and I have saved every single one since 1976. Sometimes I’ll get one and it’s in terrific condition considering how old they are

I've been finding a lot of bi-centenial quarters lately in my change!! I've been putting them back and checking them. One of them has a San Fransisco mint mark and still has some "mirror-like" finish to it!! The back of it is flawless but, the front has some small hair-line scratches on the right side. Still great looking!!!

I have been saving these for my mom for over 25 years. She probably has a few hundred of these rolled up in quarter wrappers at her home. Every so often I come across them I save them up and give them to her when I see her or ship them when I ship out Xmas or birthday gifts to her. She also collected old dollar coins and half dollar coins too. :)

My mother got me saving them a good 20 yrs ago. I inherited her collection when she passed away & put them with my collection. Could never spend even one.

I love these quarters just because of the drummer on the coin. Being a drummer myself I always loved this coin. I try to collect them whenever I run across them and I have extra pocket change.

Show up in the register. Doesn't even have a scratch on it. About two months before that I had found the dime.... 🤙

My dad had started collecting the Bicentennials back in the day BEFORE we knew of the oddities. He passed and the coins got stolen (by family) and I am now carrying on his legacy of collecting them. People are not aware of their worth and could be more than .25 but... Thanks for the information.

I used to collect them too and I wonder if I should go back through and check. Family stole some silver coins but left these as they were probably only worth a quarter each. They got my silver though sadly.
I graduated high school in 1976; collected a pile of these and still have them.
Last year I went to the quickie mart and asked for quarters for laundry. I received all bicentennial quarters from the cashier. At first I thought, "dang it, I needed quarters to spend, not collect!" Then I looked up the values and quickly did my laundry, money well spent.

Back in 1975, my mother put 4 Bicentennial quarters in a stocking. I have it to this day, and all still look like new.
I love this quarter... I grew up calling it the drummer boy quarter. They came out when I was 4 yrs old. My Grandfather gave me my first one in 1976 and told me to save it. I have saved everyone that I have knowingly come in contact with to this day. I have no clue how many I have in rolls, jugs, jars, bottles. Now I should start looking thru them. Great video...

I saved quit a few of the quarters from 1976, because of the three coins, $1, 50 cent and 25's,the quarter had gone the longest without any silver struck examples. I thought it might increase in value for that reason alone.

I have a bunch of the Bicentials quarters. I went to a gas station that had a cashier that had nothing but them and I was trying to trade my original quarters, but after i traded about 10 of em he got frustrated and wouldn't do anymore.

I was married July 10,1976 so I collected a lot of bicentinnial quarters. They have been stored in plastic coin tube containers and are in pretty good shape. I also have proof sets. I guess I can check these out with a coin dealer.

I have 7 bicentennial quarters. 5 of the Denver mint and 2 of the Philly. Never have considered myself a coin collector, but have always held onto anything unique becuz I thought they were “neat”.

Being a bicentennial baby I have always looked out for the quarters since high school. Ive ramped up coin collecting as a way to avoid the casino. Coin collecting is my kind of gambling now. You buy coins, keep the ones you desire, sell the rest back to the bank at face value, then buy more!!! You can't lose😁
