On one side the Kennedy head is Up, the opposite as the Independence hall, which is facing the other way down and its real shiny.
Do u have a video on a 1971 D half dollar transition stock silver coin? I found a 1971 D that weighs 11.6 grams and when I did the tissue test I could see a lot of silver sparkles through the tissue. Came across about 50 1971 D half dollars roll hunting a few days ago. This is the only one with this heavy weight. The rest are 11.2 to 11.3 gram range.

I noticed the dual dating but thought it was the same date. Didn't give it a second glance. I did remember it had a building on the back. It went with my 1964 Kennedy half dollar pure silver coin. So now got to check to see what the gold dollar coin is worth.

I've got a 1976 Kennedy half with a double clip. And the clips are right next to each other so in between the clips there is a point. It's not enormously valuable but you don't see a lot of them.
I have a gorgeous bicentennial Kennedy, S mintmark, clad. I wish I knew more about grading because mine is mint in my eyes. Kennedy is even slightly frosted, meaning, cameo like. I don't see really any marks, scuffs, or dings. The field is really clean. I see a few flecks of dust as it's in an 2X2. I'm not a big time collector. I don't belong to any grading club. Would it be reasonable to approach a coin shop owner and ask if they'd send it in to be graded if I'd pay to have it done? I'm sure they could look at it and say whether it's worth it or not. Then the question becomes....how well do I trust the dealer that I know???

I asked but no reply but here's what I've found, In reference to, ( another coin site, NOT CoinHELPu,) the claim that a 1972-D Kennedy Half Dollar (KHD) weighing 11.3 Grms.(174.02 Gns.) is 40% silver. According to Alan Herbert's book, A Guide to Mint Errors, seventh edition, a 1976 KHD weighs 11.52 Grms. ((177.5 Gns.) with a variance of a +- 6.2 Gns.) The 1972-D KHD weighs 11.36 Gms (( 175 Gns.) with a variance of a +- 6.2 Gns.) The only way to truly know, to the best of my knowledge, would be a Specific Gravity test utilizing the composition of each coin.
Can you help with a coin I have, im wondering if its worth more or less because some things I noticed that are different. My 1776-1976 half dollar I found is dirty has been circulated but it has a bump by kennedys nose and a bump on the back. The coin is not damaged very much just light scratches.

@@keithtauber4153 because one coin is NOT worth $5,000 and the other $2,500. You have misunderstood. Go to PCGS price guide and see what they're worth in each grade, see how rare the highest grade is worth and remember the coin must be in a PCGS holder to be worth that much. I have at least 50 of these sets and I sell them for around $20 each.

@@keithtauber4153 your the one saying that. Your coin is not graded MS70 and if it was it might get that value, but you don’t know how this works with registry set coins. When the population of MS70 coins go up their values often increase. So it could sell for less or the same, depends on the market. I am quoting values, you need to take up your issue with the company listing them for that price.

Being I am not a trusting person, how do I know that the coin I send to PCGS for instance, to get graded, will be the exact same coin I get back? What if my coin is worth say $5,000 but they send me back a lesser quality version worth just $300? How would I ever know?
They would be out of business if they did that, plus you can always take an image of your coin, send one with it and keep one. I send 10's of thousands of dollars worth of coins and this is a non-issue for me and all the other dealers who send to them.

Pay closer attention to the video.
So the only ones that are valuable are those that have a "good" label associated with them - thus its not about the coin - its about the label. The slabbing companies love this. The companies create a market, people continue to gamble, and just like a casino owner, the companies take advantage of people while the "house" gets wealthier. A true jackpot is very rare but it keeps people coming back for more.
Make your own determination. People who have asked questions, studied the product and have built a repoir with trusted sellers/dealers will have no one to blame when they entrust a label and a grade. People should know that grading is subjective. Daniel takes the time to determine if a grade conflicts with what is actually printed, he adjusts that grade. I have seen adjustments on coins mostly to the negative which shows the candid nature of Daniel. I will buy coins from him without question because the trust is established.
