40% Silver Kennedy Half Dollars - Value, Years, Information, Silver Stacking

  • This video is all about the 40% Silver Kennedy Half Dollars. I talk about them as coins and I also give 3 reasons why they are great for silver stacking! The 40 percent silver half dollars value comes from the melt value of the silver content. Every 40 percent silver half dollar has 40% silver and 60% copper. Each of these Kennedy half dollars weighs 11.5 grams and has 4.6 grams of silver in it. it takes 7 of the 40% silver Kennedy half dollars to make 32.2 grams of silver which is just over 1 troy ounce coming in at 1.035 OZT. The 40 percent silver half dollar years are from 1965 to 1970. in 1970 there was an extremely low mintage of 40 percent silver kennedy half dollars so that is the key date in the set and they are very hard to find. Because every 40 percent silver kennedy is about 1/7 of an ounce of silver I believe that they would be a great piece to barter with in a SHTF situation. For Silver Stacking the 40% silver half dollar is very trusted and can be bought at a very low price. These are both great reasons to be silver stacking 40 percent kennedys. 40 percent half dollars can also still be found by coin roll hunting what makes them about to be acquired at face value. The 40 percent silver kennedy half dollar is currently values at $2.66 with a silver spot price around $18, but I think that the value of these will go up in the future.

    Let me tell you people ! When silver hits $100/once fractional silver is great and this has finite mintage period - secondly , the only silver you would use to buy bread at your local Walmart , you use a Kennedy half before a silver eagle I’ll tell you that / third ... extremely low over spot currently $1.49 apmex at the time of this message - do not sleep on 40%- great size hefty and great value period

    • @rchicks22
      @rchicks22 Před rokem

      I agree with you. Well said. I think 40% silver at $2 over spot as compared to $8 over spot for 90% silver makes the 40% Kennedy halves a lot more attractive. After all, given the finite mintage of Constitutional silver, and that the US mint already can’t keep up with ASE demand, 40% junk silver might one day also carry a hefty premium as it could be the last & only US silver people can get their hands on if/when there’s finally a large rush into precious metals.

If you see the numismatic value it may be worth it, esp if not something trivial like low mint year but something more unique like limited mint of a certain design

      @@SilverDragons47 I find it amazing how his death affected the word at that time.He was making decisions of monumental happenings. Being Canadian seeing all the crazy shootings going on down there barely makes for minor mention in the news now. If Kennedy burped or farted the whole world would have paid attention. He got us started to the moon when the science was 1/2 of what it is no and worked for peace amongst other things. I have always wondered what he could have achieved if he had lived ? He is still honored to this day by the coinage still in circulation and collections. Silver Dragons bartering is something which was used prior to money (trading of items which you well know) or without the existence of money. You are referring to the use of these coins as money in your example, are you not? If you give someone money with silver in it like in this example, it’s using the silver content to buy something. We all know silver has been used as money throughout history. Plus, I’m not seeing a scenario where we are in complete economic collapse and having to turn to precious metals as currency. If anything, you’re going to be selling those for their silver content when you hit retirement age.

      Silver Dragons No doubt there is value to them and some people enjoy collecting them. I just worry about the silver weight of what I already have and don’t want to add to it anymore than I have to 👍 hopefully some day the gold / silver ratio will drop to a decent level and I can reduce some of the weight that way 🙂 Thanks SD!
