The ones I have are ones I found when they first came out in 1976.
Unique and special Kennedy half dollar.
So glad I've held on to.
I tried to hold them but moving lost them for me. My brother who passed had a bicentennial quarter that had errors so bad it hurt your eyes to look at it on the reverse only sadly I couldn't find it either but the show must go on!
Hey Blue Ridge, I remember as a kid before Kennedy was murdered, half dollars circulated big time. I remember the Franklins and Standing Liberty coins very commonplace. The country was so shocked and saddened that when the new Kennedy coin came out; nobody wanted to spend them out of a sense of reverence for the man. I was a 9 year old kid but I remember it well. Back then it didn’t matter about party affiliation. This is, I believe, when we stopped widespread use of the half dollar coin.
That's right, and condition.
And the rarity too.
Just look closely at your pocket change.
Byron Thomas
Thank you so much for going through the Kennedy half dollar . I do have one o believe in mint shape. Hope so. Again Thank you for reviewing this coin!👍👍👍👏👋✋👌✌
I cherry picked 1, S silver, PCGS MS67, and found the 'IGWT' motto doubled identical to the one in the PCGS price guide.
Okay! Here we go “History” I had to research that year 1976 Bicentennial so I found something interesting! The American Freedom Train traveled around our country started on purpose 1975 ended 1976 representing 200th Bicentennial! So for a Train of thought BlueRidgeSilverhound I found something else phrase “Junk Food”enters the english language which I dearly LOVE 💕 Woohoo! I really like those Bicentennial Kennedy’s. Thank you for Another Great Video BlueRidgeSilverhound 🎈👍
True. Diabetes has increased something like 10x since the 70's so it all makes sense. That is when they really started making us sick with food in exchange to make Billions off of medical bills. Such an innovative history the US has.
I still have the first one I found, BU or close to it, that my dad had proudly sealed up for me.
What is a BU.
I like the Kennedy half dollar because the portrait actually looks realistic, and I like the design on the back.
Your videos are the best. Thanks for teaching me how to look for quality and value.
My 1970 ddo dime is my favorite high grade coin.
I love bicentennial coins. They're only worth face value but I love them. I always look for halves when buying them from the bank and I find the quarters in change sometimes. I only have 2 bicentennial dollars because no one uses them but I buy one from the coin store every now and then
Me too! Its my most fav coin. something about it draws me to it! Lisa Marie
J'ai une pièce half dollar je vous la vendre ci tu est intéressé
Thanks for another great video i just got a old set very happy to hear all about them👍
I got a few of these and I figured they were new I got them from a gas station close to this hotel my house insurance paid for. I spent a couple of them at work but my manager said I'm going to hold onto this for you and I got like 12 more of them. I was looking them up on CZcams so this is why this video was on my automatic page.
Thanks
I dont know how many i got, A few for sure been collecting them and the quaters since 1976. : )
That is my year I was born cool.
Thanks for the Video Sir!
I sold one with DDO-001 on ebay now I have a DDO-004 on there. both from the silver clad set in sealed capsules. people do love to buy them. I like JFKs. good video.
BlueRidge thanks for the video , and the extra finite info .
Ho do I make a video I also have a double stamped on a 1994 Half Dollar and that is so cool.
i,d just like to say that out of all the sites on you tube i enjoy yours the best .thanks for the incite.
Insight 👍
@@mrdiplomat9018 maybe he's inciting interest in the hobby 🤣🤣🤣
I have one that kind of amazing 1976 Kennedy old coin.
I have one with errors, I am going to get it graded. Thank you for the video.
I have both 1975 and 1976 proof sets they are both bicentennial coins, where do you get the "one year type"?
I get mine from bank rolls
hey ty that was cool one of my fav coims I freek out when I get one by accident!
Always appreciate your insight Shaun. Shine on Superstar!
I literally just found one of these sitting in the change jar at random, planning on making a birthday gift since I don't really care for it but I know someone who does so thanks for the info
Depends on condition
Ike is a hard coin to find in a perfect state. Ive only found a silver set thats about as good as it gets in bicentennial. The quarter is doubled in some areas. Might jave them graded. Thanks.
Going by eBay, the most you can get for a perfect deep cameo Kennedy Bicentennial silver half $ is about $350.
I have one I wanna sell
I’m excited to have this coin
I have one that looks clean and no dents or scratches look to be in great shape
Good afternoon, I have some of these in excellent condition, are you interested?
Thanks Blue Ridge
Roughly 51 cents
I found one of these coins without the "S" in my piddly collection with the independence hall on the back face, I didn't know I even had one.
I have a few of these, as you said they're plentiful. I'm still wondering if I should keep them to pass down to my sons. Mine aren't in great condition, circulated. Thanks for all you do for us. ATB & GB
Shirl Bussman you can find tons of them at bank just buy a roll
I am sure they are wirth something.
Definitely pass them down. 50c pieces are what got me into collecting passed down from my grandma in the 80s. I kept them my whole life even though most aren't anything special at all beyond the sentimental value but I can't get a new one without thinking of her.
I have 1, will u buy it?
@@Emericelmayo Thanks but no thanks. 😊
Good info...keep up the good work. : )
I have one of those that dosent look to bad how do I get it graded?
CZcams keeps changing my subscribe love this video ty for all info !!
Yo, jb what's up my friend. I' have alot of theses coins..
And I watch you all of the time jb...
You always tell me what's happening in the coin world....
I have 1, 1977 quarter& bi centennial the drummer boy, where we can graded these?
Thank u for your wisdom 💪🏾
Yes. Two in BU . Not inclined to sell them unless I need to. Banks are making it harder for individual collectors. One Bank told me I'd have to buy an entire case of JFKs at minimum of $1,000. Ouch! But, if you consider the ever present threat of a collapsed petro/paper dollar, who wouldn't rather have a JFK than a $5 bill?
Last year, I was at Lake Arrowhead where I purchased a Boat Cruise ticket. The cashier owed me $6 change which she didn't have so she flashed a shiny JFK and I said Thank you very much.
How much would the "S" Half Dollar be worth in a mint collection
I enjoy your videos, I have gained good information and inspiration from watching. Thanks
Took a long time to find out it's worth 50 cents
ខ្ញុំមានកាក់នឹង
great info thanks
I have one of these 1776 - 1976 JFK bicentennial half dollar pieces.
I have the Bicentennial dollar with no mint stamp on it in pretty good condition how do I find out if somebody wants to buy that from me or not
Very nice and brilliant coin sir..thank fr sharing.
I have this coin but I keep it for my grandma it's belong to her but she's passed on 2007 and some of jars in her room had some collecting coins included this half a dollar
Thanks I needed to know this got a bunch of them.
yo tengo 5 monedas
I have a 1907 liberty half-dollar is it worth anything
your 1907 half dollar is worth about 35-40 dollars because it is about 90% silver.
I'm a Bicentennial baby. I collect both the quarters and halfs. Well over 400 quarters and 300 halfs.
I found a 1956 D red penny in my collection. Have you ever seen anything like it?
I have one which is cased in a 8/10 picture of Kennedy with a story along with it. My grandma got it somewhere. Im going to check on it..
I have that 2pcs half dollar the same coin 1776 1976 where can I sell this
Yes, I have two pcs. of 1976 Bicentennial Kennedy Half Dollar, I'm lucky!
I have 3
Patrick Sheppard, very good and good luck!
But very good, content as always sir
Is the bicentennial quarter worth only face value also
I have one with a hole in it. I don't know who would do that it's through the date hole for a necklace i guess
I have the 1972 double die copper 3.1 gram
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I have Eisenhower Silver dollar dated 1776-1976. Interested in knowing the value . A reply would be greatly appreciated.
Hi BlueRidge! I am just learning about coins and had no idea that messed up coins were valuable. So I had a question about this jfk bicentennial half dollar. I used to cocktail in a casino and a guest used to bring me in these half dollars on the occasion that he'd visit when I worked. I put them aside just because my mom always said to keep bicentennials. After watching your vids on them, I'm curious about their history. Also, the halves I have are in good condition. Not mint, but very shiny. I am not equipped yet with proper magnification but looking through a hand held magnifier, there seems to be what you show as "doubling" over the 2nd 7 in 1776
There is no mint mark, which means Philadelphia?? It makes sense since I am just about 25 mins from Philly. This particular coin also has a look to the background. I don't know what this is called in coin terminology so I'll try to describe it...
It looks like the base of the coin isn't totally flat looking. The silver looks almost like it was melted but didn't set smoothly. I just joined coin community but was a bit overwhelmed with the forum.
Anyway, I thought I'd take a chance here to see if you wouldn't mind helping me figure this neat stuff out 😊
I'm already finding a passion for a new hobby thanks to you! 🙌💯🙏
Hey Rich Thank you for your videos I be learning a lot from you but I don’t know if you did any 1935 mint sets videos I would love to see one, I just want to see one about the value or if is good value to have one... thank you so much and keep the good work I love your videos 100 percent thank you again...
I be liking that to
New to this.. What does BU mean? What does PCGS or NYC mean? Appreciate any guidance. Thx!
How can I get coins graded and where do I get that done at
An old man at my old job used to hand these out to people and found them in my draw and one of them is these
I just found about 20 JF coins and 7 of them are 1776-1976 I was seeing if you could help me see if I have anything that’s worth anything
I have rolls of these but not sure where to sell them
I have a1976 Kennedy Half Dollar: 2of them say 3 o’clock: 1 1976 say 3:30 ,what do you think 🤔.
I have 1776-1976 bi-centennial one dollar no mint mark,1972 one dollar coin no mint mark also.1968 quarter dollar.i need to know if I can find ways to sell my old coins collection.
So, if I have one in a proof/mint set, should I open it up and send it off to be graded or not? If so, in your opinion would be of a higher value or still around the $1000 range?
IF you send for grading, DO NOT OPEN! Let NGC or PCGS open it. They use proper techniques so as not to stain or damage the piece prior to examination...
Minimum of $30 to get a coin graded. I promise you your coin isn't worth it. Graded they only go for maybe $10 unless it's 90% silver or extremely high grade which it won't be
WILL YOU DO A VIDEO ABOUT THE 1976-EISENHOWER??????
Thank you Sean
I have a 1969 d silver half dollar proof set that has a weak strike on st on trust and a flat strike on 9
Why did they make a bi-centennial with Eisenhower and Kennedy? What's the price difference, if any?
hi I enjoying watching your videos . I found a interesting dime early this morning. it appears to be made out of penny material I would like your opinion or advice on what to do with it . Its not in the greatest condition lots of spots I mostly just collect for a personal hobby bit I do have lots of interesting finds. would appreciate your opinion. Thanks for all the info you share!
I have a 1974 Kennedy half with no mint mark and doubling what's it worth
I just literally got one of these clad bicentennial JFK's from 2 20 coin rolls I got from my bank for putting inside easter eggs for the kids Easter egg hunt. I also 5 months ago in pocket change at the end of a random day saw id just been given a nearly BU gem proof clad bicentennial Washington, I also have a plain old circulated clad Eisenhower bicentennial also , apmex still keeps in stock both the 3 piece 40% silver coin set in the original display package for like $23 , and also have the gem proof BU 40% 3 coin original bicentennial sets in their original packaging for like $28 bucks also on apmex. Looks like the example of the 1976 Jfk you used for the video is a BU 40 percenter, which is a nice coin to have. I have heard from multiple sources at this point that philidelpjia and Denver both continued minitonh there bicentennials through half of 1977 but back dated them 1976, you ever hear about this , and I heard they were minting even the 40% silver versions up until mid 1977.
I have a whole bunch of 64 Kennedys and the whole bunch of the 65 to 70 that have 40% silver. You have made me some very good money you and couch collectibles so if you would like one I would be glad to send it to you because I'm leaving enough for people I don't like so let me know. Thanks again because I have all these coins but you have confirmed a lot of them for me.
I have 8 of these and 6 are bi-centennial , the other 2 are 71 and 99. there is errors on the 1971 though I believe, which makes it rare, right??
i have 300 sitting in front of me. worth 49 cents each
Can I buy some for face value since you have so many?
Hehe
Nice.
THAT MAKES YOU A LOSER!😎
I also have that half dollar Kennedy half dollars I actually have the eagle and independent halll
What's address to a grading company I have held my half dollars 1776 -1996 Kennedy half good shape and quarters also
I got one of these in Tennessee last week
I have the complete set of 1776-1976 set the,Eisenhower's. Dollar, Kennedy 50 cent piece and Philadelphia. and Denver. Bicentennial. Quarters I have the whole set is there any value
They minted the BICENTENNIAL coins for two years from 1975 to 1976 that's why there are no coins dated 1975! Also the San Francisco mint produced both clad and 40% SILVER coins!
I❤BICENTENNIAL COIN SETS AND EISENHOWER DOLLARS!😎🚬
The Ike dollars rock!
@@NuthinFancyCollectibles I've been putting together TWO REGESTERY SETS (30+ mint set coins) INCLUDING THE BICENTENNIALS! I BELIEVE THAT IN 2026 THEY ARE GOING UP IN VALUE! 250 YEARS
The BICENTENNIALS will be 50 years old!
I just looked it up! It's called a SESTERCENTENNIAL 250YEARS!
Last week finally got some rolls from the bank, half of all the rolls we're this coin and not one was decent enough to even put in a book. I like the coin but can't find ones in decent shape. They made so many of them unless as usual you find one that's in " I hit lotto" condition the coins worth face.
I just got a collection of Kennedy halves that were silver plated, 24k plated, then a plastic coating applied. Does all this extra stuff just ruin the value? Thanks for any info.
Yes. They're for novelty. Basically it's considered damage. Still worth 50 cents but can get a little more if you find a collector that wants them
Offer up and let go.have coins found in pocket change..one cents. Nickels.dimes.quarters.half dollars. Other coinage.other clad dollar's. Here in s.c.from.10.00 to 15,000.dollars for regular old pocket change. LOL
I have 1776-1976 exactly like the one you shared

mrs chavez, i have 2 of this kennedy half dollar
I went to the banks in my area and asked them if anyone had recently made deposits using 1/2 dollars dollar coins or anything not normally seen in everyday use. I scored 24$ 5 dollars in Kennedy Halves One of which was the Bicentenial, 17 in "gold" dollars 1 1979 SBA Philly dollar and 1 BU 1979 Denver SBA.
Wow cool.
