  • In this Optistruct tutorial, we will perform a free shape optimization using Hypermesh. The FEA will be set up using Hypermesh and Optistruct solver will be used to run the optimization.

    Nicely presented Swapnil, as always. Should your presentation had a curved panel instead of a flat one with a pressure load acting on it, it could serve as a partial explanation (you need to invoke some fatigue analysis) on why the shape of airplane windows is not circular, but elliptic.

      Thanks Emmanuel! Agreed, that is a great idea for a follow up video to this simple case! I will need your help in setting up the airplane window simulation though :)

    Do you have any planned online course may on Udemy so that we can have a certificate for this awesome tutorial?

    Thanks for the video and if you could share the deck might be helpful. Do make some videos on Vibro acoustic .Thanks again

    Bro,, as usual SUPERB KNOWLEDGE from you.. also bro can u guide how a fresher can routue through ur videos? I mean can you suggest the sequential order of your play lists for a complete behinner?

    • @Aeroswap
      @Aeroswap  Před 3 lety +1

      I would suggest starting with the 'Introduction to Hyperworks' playlist. This tutorial series is for beginners who are just starting to use Hyperworks (Hyperworks is the new interface of legacy Hypermesh).
      After getting comfortable with the preprocessing operations, you can browse through the 'Optistruct Tutorials' playlist and learn basic analysis types.
      The most difficult analysis types would be explicit dynamic using Radioss and LS Dyna. Do not watch these tutorials before getting a basic overview of all other simpler analysis types!
      I hope this gives you a roadmap for learning this tool and FEA in general.

    Hello, nice video as always !
    I have a little question : On one of your video you did quality check elements. For instance jacobian and skew you remeshed them by adding triangular element. My question is about minimun length elementS. If in my PART I have fold edges that I can't simplify.
    I decide to mesh the overall part with a mesh size of 3. But to capture the geometry of the edges I need to increase the density of elements which leads to a lower elements length. It is correct to put a minimum length to 0.1 ? Indeed this is my criteria. It will be impossible for me in that case to put minimim length to 5.
    Harry,

      Hello Harry,
      It is absolutely fine to use a smaller edge length wherever it is required. The reason for using bigger elements is to cut down the solving times. However, it is no use if the geometry and physics is not getting captured accurately! It is more important to have an accurate analysis than having a fast solution. If smaller edge length is needed, go for it!

      @@Aeroswap Thanks for your answer. In short, this parameter will impact the solving time. However, some parameters are important for the quality of the simulation. For instance, jacobian ? If we have bad jacobian criteria the quality of our result can be affected. Am I right ?

    • @Aeroswap
      @Aeroswap  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes, that is right. Better to spend more time creating a good quality mesh and then run the analysis to get reliable results.

    Hi sire iam a new learner of hypermesh software just beginer iam facing a issue with it
    after saving model when i give optistruck command for result it shows segmentation error and then hypermesh gets close it doesn't show any result of model
    please suggest anything to resolve my issue it would be great for me

      Check the OUT file for the run. If there is any modelling error, it will be specified in that file.
