  • In this Optistruct tutorial, we will perform a linear buckling analysis using Hypermesh. The main objective is to evaluate the critical buckling load and visualize the buckling mode shapes for the structure. The postprocessing of the results is done using Hyperview.

    Great work Swapnil. When I first learned buckling analysis long time ago I was confused about the eigen value and what it contributes to determine the critical load. Nice job using 1 to explain the critical load for the beginners. Is ur next buckling analysis going to be non-linear? Haha

      Yes, absolutely. Emmanuel has done a great job by providing me with a nonlinear buckling case. We were working on the same for the last few days.

      @Aeroswap  Před 3 lety +1

      Hello Onkar,
      The two components are geometrically connected. I designed the model that way to avoid complexities.
      You do not need to create any contacts or joints. Just organize the surfaces (if needed) and you will be good to start with the setup as shown in the video 👍🏻

      Sure. I have not posted a video about inertia relief analysis yet, but the setup process is similar to a modal analysis. 'SUPPORT' boundary condition has to be applied instead of SPC.
